Nintendo Cyber Deals 2016 (US, EU)

Looks like I can finally get 3D Sonic 2. Are any of the Game Gear games worth trying though?

The new rewards service was bad enough, so they take away something that actually encouraged me to buy some games. Now instead of getting 10 gold coins for Weapon Shop I'll get 0. Cool. I don't know any other store ever that requires a $5 purchase in order to give you points. If I go to Starbucks and buy a f******* mini scone I still get half a star or something. In the mobile gaming world many of the best games are priced under $5, which means I'm not getting rewarded for potentially a majority of my eShop purchases. I don't buy retail games on the eShop, mind you. Nintendo is being really stupid about this, especially given the horrible rewards they have available anyway. Do they think rewarding people for every purchase is going to deplete their stock of 20% off Mario Kart coupons?! WTF Nintendo you dumb & I hate that I love.....

Sigh... I kinda miss Club Nintendo. They even net you points for buying physical copies of their games. Also got most of the 3D classic games from their reward system.

I was a bit disappointed to not see Kirby Robobot or SNES VC on the list so I went ahead and got Kirby at Target for $25. Still a bit tempted by Dream Team and FE: Awakening.

If you take the time to get a feel for the controls, Sonic Drift 2 can be a nice little Kart racer. Not mind blowing by any standards but it's a fun little romp.

Sonic 1 Game Gear is excellent, as well as Sonic Triple Trouble. Unless you have pre-Nostalgia settlements (smh, like I do) stay far away from Sonic Labyrinth, Sonic Blast & Sonic 2 Game Gear.

To be honest, I don't miss Club Nintendo. The only things I cared about were games and the current rewards program has games in spades. Yeah it socks physical stuff doesnt translate over into loyalty perks but I still prefer My Nintendo over Club Nintendo.

Got a Wii U gamepad notification screen telling me that Star Fox and Tokyo Mirage Sessions would be on sale (EU). Log in to the Eshop: nothing there.

Well played Shibata, well played.

They usually announce the deals a couple of days in advance, I don't know what the hell is NOE waiting for?

Now I'll have to wait another day to find out the games I want are not on sale

Lol same, can't wait to find out a shovelware game I've never heard of is now 10% cheaper

I just want it to be over with so I can extinguish any hope I have that there will be any VC games on sale

Looks like NOE is gonna wait until the day the sale starts to announce the discounts.
SMH! Nintendo - keeping their fans waiting, as usual.

42 euros for Tokyo Mirage seams a bit too much for a digital version tbh. I might just get Paper Jam instead. And yeah, underwhelming sales, as usual.

Should anyone wonder if 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Sonic Blast is the better deal, letme give you some advice: The cheaper one is a masterpiece and a fantastic conversion job, the more expensive one is an insufferably bad game that is merely emulated.

THE BEST.

I can answer specifics if you have any questions.

Seconded. Turn off the story mode though.

Also came to this topic as a european to voice my disappointment that our sale is not anywhere NEAR as good as the NA one.

THE BEST.

I just started playing it. Damn, the levels are LONG. It took me 15 minutes to clear stage 2. Is the whole game like that? I'm a gamer dad, so I only play in short play sessions when I get a chance, which is why I typically don't even play my WiiU too much to begin with.

But yeah the music is REALLY good. I wish this game was on 3DS, it'd get a lot more playtime from me.

The clear times can vary greatly depending on whether on how much trouble you're having or whether you explore or speedrun. Relic Maze has a speedrun achievement for clearing the stage in 8 minutes for example.

This helps a bit.

FE: awakenings is a great deal at $20...you'll put a ton of hours into this. If I didn't have the game i would be all over this deal right now.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 for $10 is amazing. This is one of the greatest Mario games of all time.

Now monster hunters generation, anyone recommend it? Has anyone seen it for cheaper? Reviews look good for it.

I love it, though I caution that I say that as an unabashed Monster Hunter fanboy. That price is the cheapest I've ever seen it. Have you ever played a Monster Hunter game before? They have something of a learning curve, but there are tutorials in game and a demo for it.

The European deals are quite ok for the digital games, even though I have both BoyBoy games already. The retail deals are laughable as always.

Considering both are Sonic games, I'd recommend to avoid both.

How is Lego Avengers on 3DS? It caught my eye when it came out cause it included open world (scale back with the population), and apparently even gotten least some of the DLC (like civil war spidey). Probably would dive in for $8 for some open world fun, and don't care that the story levels were butchered in the handheld versions.

Edit: Eh nm on the DLC, only having gotten the agent of shield pack (which is strange that it only that one lol). Still would consider this anyway.

Nice reminder for me to buy BoxBoxBoy, which I meant to get on day one and have somehow completely forgotten about until just now :p
