My sentiments exactly. I'll buy Akuma but this news is really disappointing to me.
I would hope so. Maybe we can get Heihachi too? But then would SFxT be considered part of the SF universe?

I'm fine with newcomers personally. Hopefully they can bring in characters from other franchises that aren't active like Rival Schools and Darkstalkers. Lots of wasted potential in those series.
Sucks for those who wanted more traditional characters. Although it is refreshing to see Capcom taking chances.

Well, looks like I'm not getting the season pass. Not having a single returning character other than Akuma is dumb, no matter which way you look at it. I was so hyped for Season 2, why Capcom?!

Except if you look at it from the point of view of someone who isn't really married to the concept of always having the same characters.
I get that you don't like this plan but I personally love that they're taking risks.

New fighters would definitely take more time to develop than returning fighters Ono must have tricked more people into giving him money. At least Capcom still believes in the game or else they would be pulling out Evil Ryu and Sakura if they didn't.

I think I might be right about Helen and Haggar.
I envision Helen as a tricky, highly technical Illuminati element manipulator. Haggar would be the Ken/Akuma to Zangief’s Ryu — he’d have his own version of the double lariat and piledriver, but everything else would be different.

Yup. Besides, this is going to last till 2020. So by the time we get to that large roster, a lot of the fan faves with return. I can wait.
Based on the Silhouettes. These are characters that haven't been in a SF mainline game. They're not new to the universe.
None of the silhouettes seem lean enough to be ed.
Look at Kolin outfits, that's the back of her suit jacket.

The only thing that is somewhat funny to me is that almost all the characters you guys are complaining that aren't in were newcomers to the series at one point.

Looks about right to me. The fifth silhouette looks like they are wearing a Gi?! Number 4 looks weird, like there is a plunger on their stomach lol.
I really don't expect anyone to agree with me or see things my way, I'm simply saying what I personally feel. This is a big deal breaker for me but if this pleases anyone greatly, then I'm super happy for you, but I can tell already that I'm just not going to enjoy this Season. These characters might be amazing, but I can't say that now. Probably going to be taking a big break from SF threads for a while.

Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.
I only ask that you remember that even the character in your avatar was once a newcomer and that people historically weren't really open to the new characters in that game at first either.
Already talked to 2 people who I personally know who like SFV but weren't really invested since the DLC characters were released. They were hyped about Akuma and some other classics but when this announcement hit, they're not coming back until more classics come in. Akuma is ok and all but he's one character. Then you factor me as well, nah. I play these games for classics, the ones I played in the day when I didn't have much.
Let's just hope by S3 it comes with characters people actually know.

Why does everyone want to just have the same old things? New characters get me hyped. What is it about fighting games that people want to just live purely on nostalgia? Serious question.
Yeah, if there isn't some sort of large fanservice update coming up in a year this decision was kinda insane to me.

How long did it take us to get names after the Season 1 silhouette reveal last year? I think they need to reveal a little more before expecting people to buy the season pass. If the characters are actually brand new, The silhouettes don't even have a point. If they're brand new, knowing what they look like or what their names are isn't going to give any surprises away, and might actually get people more interested.
Well, we don't know if they're even brand new characters. I can see them adding five guest characters to try and get some more casual exposure.
Casual players didn't buy Street Fighter because there weren't enough brand new characters. I'm expecting a bunch of crossover characters if this brand new character thing isn't a mistranslation.
We got names like a week or so later because the beta was datamined and the names of these characters were revealed unintentionally. So there's no expectation that they'll reveal the names early.
