Street Fighter V |OTVI| The More I Know, The Worse I Play

I don't think they are going to hold decapre all the way till after s2.

I think they might have her as a free character for everyone when the balance patch and everything goes live.

"What can we do for season 2? I mean Akuma's going in but who else?"

"Let's bring in 5 brand new characters to show everyone how we've improved!!"

"But eh don't you think it makes more sense to bring in more classics so fans will play the characters they know of? Even split it down the middle? Nostalgia?"

"No no, 5 brand new ones! That'll really bring the fans in. Once they see we have 5 brand new characters in the series, that'll surely give us sales."

"Ok sir."

*guy puts his Sakura, Sagat and etc drawings away*

It's best to temper your expectations and assume that you're getting exactly what they say we are going to get. Or less.

Why even hide the characters behind silhouettes if they're brand new...

I think it's because some of them are guest characters... or so I hope lol. Otherwise then it's just kind of silly.

Capcom: "You won't believe who this silhouette is for!!!"
Us: "Oh shit, show us now!"
(Ono smiles and loads new PowerPoint slide)
Us:"Who the fuck is that?"

Brand new to SF Universe.

On an unrelated note, I hope they release these chars in a monthly basis starting next month so we're done by June. I would certainly not liking seeing a similar scenario to this year, where only Guile and Alex saw some real evolution because CPT.

I wonder what the odds are of them throwing this announcement out to see if fans want new chars... and then if the response is bad, Ono pops out and goes "JUST KIDDING, HERE IS SAGAT!".

That would actually be amazing... except he'd follow that line with, "...in MAHVEL baby!"

Literally 0%

Character development doesn't just work like that, though the response might shape what characters they go for in future seasons/updates.

If we look at how character development works, generally speaking you'd have more than just those 6 in development. The first maybe 3 characters can't change as they are likely just too far along. But the last 2-3 could probably be swapped out for another in-development character that didn't make the cut, especially if the change was made very soon.

I just can't imagine those are the 6 characters far enough along in the development process to release next year (again, assuming a change was made very soon).

1 or 2 matches an hour is bullshit. I was really looking forward to watching this but this won't end until like 130- 2am est.

Here's a higher quality image of the silhouettes released by Capcom:

Birdie is apoarently the same with a slightly faster HK bull revenger.

AKA the character that was notorious for his near-total absence from competition for most of the year has been given nothing, whilst Chun gets new shit...

Birdie is already on the cusp of viability, it's that he has a few really awful match ups, and those are getting nerfed.

Sounds about right. Though I will say that Capcom does tend to balance better than Namco and some other fighting game devs.

That's the change that seems to be the most obvious one but we'll just have to wait for a more official announcement before jumping to any conclusions.

It's likely to be some original charcters and characters from other Capcom games. With DoA and Tekken doing guest characters it doesn't seem like it would be impossible for it to be a representative from another company's franchise in the mix.

I don't feel like 5 brand new chars is a good move for the resurrection of the game to the wider audience. A healthy mix makes more sense imo, especially cos that nostalgia trip is a powerful thing. With classics like Blanka, Sagat, Honda, etc. still not in, I reckon they're missing a trick.

We're getting several more years of support, and Sagat is one of the few headline characters left. It makes sense to hold him off for a future season.

It's not like they're gonna stop at season 2 and call it a day. We're getting character and other stuff for a couple of years so Sagat will return eventually.

I'm all for a whole season of just new characters, honestly.

Capcom's track record for new characters have always been strong, especially now.

In an ideal world for sure, but at this point it doesn't feel like a sure thing that we'll see multiple seasons and so I would want them to resurrect the hype first and then experiment.

If they are guest characters I could see it having a positive effect though, and personally I'm down with new folk on the roster either way... just want the best for the game's longevity!

A few days ago, there were articles stating that SFV was going to be supported until 2020. Plus, it's a mainline SF game. They will always see a couple of years of support.

Silhouette #5... possibly Asura (with slightly longer hair)? Backside view, Asura facing right. Wishful thinking lol. But I do think that's the character's position so any other guesses, people?

Just got this game on Black Friday. What's the cheapest way to get all the dlc? Do I just have to buy season one and two separate or should I wait and see if there's a bundle at S2 launch?

There is not going to be a bundle for all the dlc. Your best bet is sniping the season pass on a discount for the 6 extra characters and 1 extra stage.

Dude's gonna give a costume to the character he won the Capcom Cup with.

Only question is what it's gonna be.

A Guile costume for Mika would be something.
