Has it been patched to 1.03 yet?

Going by Y2's impressions, he says the image is pristine on the Pro, but I was under the impression there is no downsampling or high res mode on the Pro, which has me wondering if it's been updated again.

But the standout game of 2016 will be The Last Guardian, a Japanese-made buddy game about a young boy and a hulking, dog-like creature who together must escape a tumbledown castle. In the pair’s movements the game has all the masterly animation of a Studio Ghibli film, but The Last Guardian’s true power comes from the way in which a story of trust, companionship and restoration (Trico, as the creature is called, has clearly suffered much abuse at the hands of his captors) is told not through cinematic scenes, but through the game’s tactile interactions. If ever there was a story to salve the wounds inflicted by this dark year, this is it.

I dont know if there is downsampling. I don't see jaggies or poor texture filtering so that's where my opinion comes from. The game could just be using strong AA.

I tried uploading some of my screenshots but they came out a little compressed. But hopefully this informs my comments on IQ. The image is very pleasant!

Apparently the 4K picture taker thing is weak but whatever. Look at the compression on Trico's nails...

Ah ok, I'd imagine there probably is, even if it's just 1440p, Titanfall 2 looks really quite nice at that res on the Pro.

Just learned how to give commands to Trico. Man, the boy gesturing commands is so damn cute and funny.

My favourite "cute" moment tho is when (very minor spoiler, if at all)
Trico tries to follow you in a narrow space and sticks his head in it like a dummie, and you have to shove him back to walk through cuz his fat head is taking all the space

If there are no jaggies it's probably downsampled.

Video previews were jaggied as hell.

Whoa just entered the game again and got a trophy but I'm not sure about what happened. I mean, I've seen it but it's weird lol, and I'm just not sure what I'm seeing. I'll need some explaining maybe... maybe not, haha.

Wow it's a gold one. It doesn't sync btw.

I thought that sequence was scripted. Positively surprised it isn't. Lol at the triumphant music with the boy falling.

My main question for people who have played it, is the game fun? Ctrl-F fun on the first page of the thread came up with exactly 1 hit.

How do trophies work for a pre release game? Never had a problem before but today I've unlocked one and when syncing to psn it doesn't upload, it seems.

Also, I just died twice in that section. Once I didn't catch Trico's tail. The second one he didn't even bother LOL.

I just looked at them. Just in case the idea they are sexualized weirded out anyone else besides me, now that I've seen them I can say I think seeing them that way is going to be 100% up to interpretation. No offense intended.

Did you have fun figuring out Ico's puzzles? Do you have fun during platforming set pieces in other games? It's pretty much the same kind of fun. Not for everybody. It is to me.

Add to that just looking at Trico be alive and do living being's things or trying to get him to do things. It's fun to me and that's a kind of fun not many more games offer. Even if I make him hurt by telling to smash a metal door and seeing him bash it with his head and then regret it, it's fun to me.

It's not Bayonetta, of course. It's not even Shadow of the Colossus, which was action/platforming on top of puzzle. Many people will say they get asleep with this game. They probably aren't reading this thread anyway.

well, i wasn't planning to buy this, but my two year old son did it for me. he also bought steep. long story short, sony would only refund steep and told me to kick rocks when I asked for TLG to be refunded too.

so bring on tuesday, i guess.
