Phil Spencer: Nearly 50% of XB1 owners playing BC games

LOL - since this thread you started about PS4 goes against what you are implying in this thread.....then yeah, you are the epitome of shitposting and fanboy warring:

Oh man.

I love GAF.

Wow, some people is just sad.

This is like the gaming side of "Crooked Hilary", but when it's PS4, it's "smart business"

Good grief 😆

Yeah, go ahead & be against me. All of you are just proving my point.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
As they should, its a great feature.

Not that i would buy a console specifically for that, but its great to have so you don't have to start all over in your library if you are not planning on keeping your previous gen console

MS is doing all the packaging and emulation work. I haven't heard anything about the publishers having to do anything other than approve.
sure that makes sense. Honestly your original post I wasn't aware you meant exclusively no work on the developer. I thought you just meant no work in general.

That's what I thought too. I was under the impression all the publisher had to do was give the thumbs up and Microsoft would take over from there.

There was a Deus EX developer on here that confirmed Microsoft did all the work when they got multi disc games working.

All the developer probably has to do is make sure licensing is in tact and give the thumbs up. But pretty much all of the hard work should be MS.

Fucking rekt. Great find. Having an opinion on things is fine and dandy, but when you spin it positive for the system of your choice, then spin it negative for the system that isn't your choice, then that's when you need to be called out on it.

I think BC is amazing. Even better for people that already own the game and can just pop it in and download. It's really hard for people to spin it negatively, but I see that some are spinning it like BC is the ONLY thing people are playing on XBO.

Sigh.

Cool feature that I probably would use if I bought an Xbox One. Regarding of Sony PS3 BC is pretty much impossible (Architecture of PS3 is kinda clusterfuck) but there is no excuse for lack of PS2 and PS1 BC. Especially PS1. I mean PS4 is only gaming device that Sony has released that doesn't play PS1 games. PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and Vita all play PS1 games....

Backwards Compatibility is one of the main reasons why I'm getting an Xbox One soon. I just learned about the program a little but more and now I can continue Bayonetta, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, Lost Odyssey and others, even now that cloud saves will continue my progress. Kudos to Microsoft for stepping up to do this.

All I did was worded what I said wrong, & it's like everyone is out to get me for it for no damn reason. It's ridiculous & it's stupid.

I've been there and said something stupid many times, just exit the thread and never revisit it. Its what I do :p

I remember the day RDR 2 was officially announced and I immediately went to go play RDR multiplayer on Xbone BC. People still playing and the multiplayer wasn't unplayable for once. One of the best days I've had playing that game. Recording tons of funny shenanigans.

A great feature I'm happy for.

huh, I'm not sure that's a really good number or not? Like are the games ever free or do you pay for them all? Like how many people downloaded a game and then played for 10 minutes? (me with GTA san andreas on ps4).

not sure if its a good feature to actually add on or not, I had a OG ps3 but didn't use the BC, I think I am in favour of it with no extra cost for the console itself. of course if its free great.

''Playing'' is a big word considering in this figure they're obviously counting people who have simply tried to run some of their old games for 10 minutes just to see how it works.

50% isn't that surprising actually, isn't that close to the ratio of Gold subscribers ? Considering we get two free 360 BC games each month, it would be silly not to try it at least once.

Nobody's ever just "out to get" you. None of us are important enough for that. People take issue with what you posted, because it was honestly a pretty silly thing to state. Especially if you're calling it "a problem" one the one hand, whilst championing ports of old games when it applies to a different console manufacturer. Rather than get all defensive, acting like the world is out to get you unfairly, just take on board how the apparent hypocrisy cause the current situation so it can be avoided in the future. Sometimes we're unaware of how biased some of our views are until someone else (or in this case numerous people) point it out to us. They're not wrong for doing so, and it's good to take that kind of feedback on board.

You get two 360 games a month with Games With Gold. Otherwise it's all the games you already own, digital and physical.

BC is a nice feature and one of the reasons that I bought an XB1.
I still play Mass Effect 3 (MP) and Saints Row 4 semi-regularly with it.
