Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

So for everyone looking to get the most out of Festival Plaza, there is a really good trick you can use to re-roll the facility Sophocles introduces to you on level up. Here it is (stolen from Reddit):

1) Get enough FC to level up Festival Plaza
2) Wait for the announcement (with the confetti) that tells you to come inside.
3) Once this has happened, DO NOT enter the castle. Stay outside.
4) Keep farming FC outside the castle (i.e. do missions, talk to people)
5) Try to get enough FC so that you are close to levelling up again - you want to be 2 or 4 points off levelling up again.
6) Once you are 2 or 4 points off the next level-up, go on to the GTS or Wonder Trade and perform a trade, depending on what your gap is (GTS gives 4 points, WT gives 2 points)
7) Now go offline, quit the plaza, save your game

This is the point you reload from if you don't get your desired result

8) Go inside the castle, Sophocles will give you a new facility. This will ALWAYS be the same. Whether you choose to keep it or not doesn't matter.
9) NOW, talk to the person to the right of you next to the table, they will give you the bonus for doing a trade
10) This now levels up your castle again and Sophocles gives you a new facility.
11) THIS facility is random, and will change every time you reload. If you like it, keep it, otherwise reload and do the process again. It's somewhat tedious but it doesn't take too long.

This doesn't work if either level up results in Sophocles not giving you a facility, like he does when you level up to 10, 20, etc.

I can't unsee this cute face in Sivally now

Is there an actual reason to do this? I haven't really done anything in the Plaza so I don't know how it works.

On the first island there was a NPC that wanted a flying pokémon, anybody remember who and where?
Hao'oli City, someone wants a Drifloon at the Pokemon Center

At the Route 2 Pokemon Center, someone wants a Cutiefly

At route 3, near the berry tree across the bridge, there's a dude who wants to see a rockruff

Those are the only Pokedex requests on MeleMele

When you level your plaza high enough, you can get 5* lotteries (which give out Master Balls and Golden Bottle Caps if you're lucky enough) and many other useful facilities that Sophocles can introduce to you.

The biggest one is the 5* Rare Kitchen, which will allow you to level up your Pokemon by 7 or 9 levels at a time once your plaza reaches level 30 and you beat the game. It is by far the fastest way to get your Pokemon to level 100. The 5* version of this facility is only available through Sophocles in Sun, however; you'll need to ask people you find in the plaza if they have it and buy it off them instead if you have Moon.

My personal goal is to have a Festival Plaza set up like this:

5* Treasure Hunt (gives out Golden Bottle Caps)
5* Treasure Hunt
5* Rare Kitchen
5* Rare Kitchen (need multiple of these because supply is limited per day)
5* Fortune Teller (any)
5* Team Green (my favorite color, plus any 5* dye facility gives you access to pastel & dark versions of any other color)
5* Miscellaneous*

*I leave the last slot to be open to anything to suit whatever needs I have. If I want extra FC or lottery luck, a 5* Fortune Teller would go here. If I want to stock up on Master Balls, I'd put a 5* Big Dreams here. If I want quick cash, I'd put a 3* Pharmacy here. And so on. I could also use that slot to grind regular Bottle Caps (look up how to do this with a 2* Treasure Hunt).

I'm currently 3/7 in terms of reaching my desired arrangement.

Walked through the entire Alola looking for Zygarde cells. Ended up with 98. Sigh. I have no idea where to begin looking for the last two.
I made it to 95 before deciding to follow a youtube guide and checking every location I had been

It might take at least a half hour but it's worth it cause Zygarde Complete Form is pretty awesome

Have you tried going to the early parts of Melemele Island you went through before getting a cube? I made the mistake of assuming I cleared that Island when I was searching for my last cores.

Yeah. After I beat the elite 4 I went and deliberately walked through every last place in the game.

One thing though is that I did it all during the day. I heard some zygarde cells are only at night, so the two I missed might be those. However, I don't think it's worth walking through the entire Alola again at night to look for just two more cells. I think I'm going to use a guide now.

It definitely was worth walking through Alola for the first time though. I found lots of stuff I had missed when I was just naturally playing through the game, like the battle with Lana. And I found lots of post-game stuff too, like the person who gives you Porygon.

Thanks when I get home and charge I will look for it, but I think I have not meant the rock one yet.

So, if I just causally play will I be screwed? I am on moon so guess I have to buy. Anything sun has to buy from moon?

I think these are all the exclusive 5* shops:

Sun
-Rare Kitchen
-Friendship Parlor
-Battle Table
-Clink-Clunk Land
-Soft Drink Parlor (only goes up to 3*)
-Pharmacy (only goes up to 3*)
-Team Red
-Team Green
-Team Orange
-Team Purple

Moon
-Friendship Cafe
-Thump-Bump Park
-Stomp-Stomp House
-General Store
-Ball Shop (only goes up to 3*)
-Battle Shop (only goes up to 3*)
-Team Yellow
-Team Blue
-Team Navy Blue
-Team Pink

If the other version has an exclusive store, then you won't ever get that store from a level up and will need to buy it. You'll gain the ability to buy stores from other players once you reach level 8.

Okay thanks. My question now is if I don't do this trick, as in just take whatever happens, will I be at a disadvantage? Screwed?

Is Solgeo a guaranteed catch? No status conditions, a bit of health left and caught it with one ultra ball. I thought it'd be a huge pain to catch and I'd need my master ball.

Solgaleo/Lunala have a catch rate of 45. It relatively high considering most Legendaries have a catch rate of 3.

They have a higher catch rate, yes (Solgaleo and Lunala, but also most of the recent cover Legendaries).

I finally have a beautiful shiny Mimikyu after 9999999999 eggs and now I'm left with a bunch of 5IV and several 6IV normal ones. I'm not sure what to do with them.

I'll take one of those off your hands. I have a few 4-5 IV Pokémon if you want something special or I can just give you an extra UB. Whatever you want

Wow chaining Hidden Ability Sharpedo is a real struggle. I'm just gonna wait for Bank because its call and help rate is really fucking dumb.

EDIT: Got it. That was worse than Galvanize Geodude lol.

Does
necrozma
respawn after you KO it? I accidently killed it when i met it totally unprepared

After i KOed it it said something like "you can't see it anymore but you can feel it's presence" so i would assume so. I didn't save before that and i made a lot of progress. Help pls.

Edit: can confirm it does immediately

I don't have a lot of time for the EV/IV stuff, so I've just been farming female Salandits to give out to Wondertrade to help anybody who has had trouble getting them. Hope that doesn't seem particularly lazy.

Reached the Elite Four.

I was a bit miffed by Kahili, I have to say. I went from left to right and had no idea who I was going to face (besides the "champion", I knew was gonna be Kukui) but it became apparent it was going to be people I knew. Hala, Olivia, Acerola.

And then oh hey golfer lady who I think is mentioned like all of one or two times in the whole game and I've never met before.

Bit lame.

seriously dude I would have just used my master ball. :lol

;_;

I used that on a Politoed because it decided to be cute and used Perish Song.

I found a shiny Poliwag and a shiny Poliwhirl before I found that stupid thing; I wasn't about to subject myself to that hell again.

How does Silvally proform on the competitive scene?

Final Fantasy XV set me back play time wise otherwise I would've been competing online already.

They should have used more new ones. Refighting hala and olivia was boring because you've faced them already, I was fine with Acerola because you never fought her and her team makeup was interesting enough. I'm just glad you didn't have to deal with Hapu again.

It didn't really matter to me. I dunno about you, but I barely ever remember the Elite Four from previous gens. Hell, I barely remember Gen 3's Elite Four. Just the Champions, maybe at least one. It made sense that the whole Elite Four is a pretty new thing for Alola, so they'd rely on the strongest trainers in the region, which are the Kahunas (minus Nanu who couldn't be bothered). It's even hinted that they obviously aren't going all out on you, what with Olivia's Probopass just chilling there, instead of being used in her Kahuna fight. For there to be 4 random people (One random person is fine, and was sort of foreshadowed at least) that just were chilling with their strong selves tucked away on the island, would be kind of weird imo. Instead we get people that we already knew to begin with. Sure, it'd be cool to see new designs, but I feel that this works much better on a thematic level.

At any rate, when Pokemon Stars comes out, that's when you could probably expect some new faces. Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if Hau is one of them, as well as Hapu.

Competitive scene seems to think it sucks

I dig him, it works well enough in battle spot singles

People get tripped up a lot expecting a physical attacker buils and don't see it coming

Steve, the dog with no powers that we let hang out with us all for some reason
Anyone got a Pokemon with Pokerus that would be willing to give away? I don't have anything special to trade for it. Perhaps a Mimikyu or one of the Alola starters?
