Got my Hori screen protector set. It fits great on the 2 screens, and the top protector is tempered glass which is nice.
I'm not really sure what the clear plastic covers for the area around the speakers and buttons/D-pad/circle pad are really useful for. I put them on anyways, they don't seem to do a whole lot.
I just need to find a nice case that fits the New 3DS now.

welp, I just won an auction for N3DS XL with top IPS screen on ebay for $180... I said I won't settle for less than dual IPS, but those seem quite rare, expensive, and usually come in colors/editions that I dislike (I really only like plain black). So I figured I'll bite on this one to see how much I like the top screen and if I feel it's worth hunting down a dual IPS one, I'll sell it.

There are IPS screens on the standard new 3DS too (but I prefer XL for most games anyway).Wanting IPS isn't just for viewing angles. It's also for better color and contrast, and reportedly much better super-stable 3D.

I was completely serious about replacing my broken n3DS XL with a new one today but no Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target or GameStop has it in stock in my area.
In fact on the GameStop website all 3DS system models have been switched to "Online Only" sale and usually even if an item isn't stock the website would still let you check for store availability.
I even called my local GameStops and everyone told me they don't have any in stock right now so I don't know what sort of game Nintendo is playing here but this is BS.
And no I'm not buying this Online when I purchase Video Game hardware I do it locally so I can immediately make use of Warranty without dealing with the hassle of shipping things and waiting days for things to arrive.

Welp regardless of reason this now puts me in the akward spot where I have to ask myself if I even want to replace the unit now because the plan was to replace n3DS XL today and buy a PS4 Pro in February (along with a new HDR 4K TV) but since I will be buying a Pro instead now the n3DS XL would be switched to February but with the Switch coming out in March I have to wonder if it's even worth replacing the unit this soon.

What games do you still want to play on the 3DS? I still have a healthy backlog so I can see myself continuing to play it for awhile. Then again, I said the same thing with my DSi XL but once I got the 3DS XL, I never went back. As much as I loved the DSi XL, the user interface is much better on the 3DS.

Currently? The only game I was playing was Pokemon Moon so unless Monster Hunter XX gets localized than Pokémon Moon was going to be the swan song for my 3DS and it doesn't help that Pokémon Stars is apperantly a thing on the Switch.

Just got my 3DS back from repair and the streetpass light is all dinged up. They did the same thing to my New 3DS XL and it's the entire reason I sold it on here. Sigh.

Keep your eyes peeled on the usual sites, because a new exploit will soon be released which will allow anybody on firmwares up to 11.2 to downgrade and install CFW without needing to solder, have DSiWare, or a 2nd 3DS already with CFW. This includes our BF 3DS's which shipped with 11.1

If you go for homebrew, do you lose games saves, account information, access to the Eshop, etc?

Between this and the NES Classic I have no idea what Nintendo is doing with regards to keeping items in stock. I don't see Sony or Microsoft having these types of problems.

I bought this fabulous USB charging cable at my local toy store today for only the equivalent of $6. It's also available on Aliexpress but more expensive at around $10.
It's 10 feet long and has a sturdy braided nylon cord. I would have preferred 5 feet, but this is better than my previous 2-foot cable which could get jerked easily if I played while charging.

Does that cable fit in the N3DS charging cradle?
New 3DS though have been sitting on shelves for months without moving before about September or October. Then, boom, they are all gone. Also consider that's the retailers fault for not ordering enough, no point in manufacturing more units if none of the retailers are buying them.
No idea about the NES classic. I honestly expected it not to sell like it is or have the demand it does. I don't get the appeal. It's a stuck with those 30 games and historically these devices or similar haven't exactly flown off shelves.
Uhhhh, Wii U is pretty much gone... whatever you can find is what's been made.
they pretty much wrapped up production because no one wanted it.

Yeah. I've seen yellow white n3dses already. It's not so much that this problem isn't fixed it's that Nintendo just uses cheap plastic.
If you keep it indoors (away from the sun) most of the time though, you should be ok for a good long time. Bigger problem is how dirty it'll look after you've owned it for a while. I wash my hand thoroughly before every play session and the stains and smudging is still noticeable.
