[OT] This Winnie the Pooh Flash Game is Way Too Hard for Its Target Audience

You brought this on yourself Pooh. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS.

I usually try to beat this game every time the thread is bumped. I am using a new computer since the last time I tried it so here are my stats since the thread was bumped a few days ago

My best this go around against Christopher Robin is 34/40. I usually just try to focus on upping my personal best instead of beating the level so I don't freak out and screw up when I start doing well.

Anyone who has beaten it have some tips for Christopher Robin? I usually have my bat over the plate, but when I get to Christopher Robin I move all the way back to give myself more time to adjust to the pitch.

Anyways post some stats people!

How are you guys getting the English version? I used to play this in Japanese (and had no idea what I was upgrading)

Just Google "Winnie the Pooh Home Run Derby" and it should be the first result. Having trouble getting a link to work for some reason.

Thanks. I'll use that for the next time this game comes back (and it always does!)

Right now I am against owl in the Japanese version...and I kinda don't want to give up my progress haha :p

Alright, I'm back in.

Ran the gauntlet of Eeyore-Tigger over the last few nights. It's time for Christopher Robin to go back to Hell where he belongs.

According to few members here, English version is easier than Japanese version, so I would like to see if it's correct or not?

For what it's worth, I've played both up to C.R. and noticed no appreciable difference.

Speaking of whom, I'm approaching the edge of madness. Every other character you can gameplan for. Not Christopher Robin. Oh, hell no.

Everytime this thread is bumped, I'm simultaneously warmed by the memory of an epic thread and traumatised by my experiences with the flash game.

I played my way back to Christopher Robin. I still can't beat him. I also haven't leveled up as much as I did during my initial run at the game last year. I don't know if I want to grind just to give myself a little more *gulp* hope.

Its all fun and games until you get to owl and his bullshit.

And who is calling foul balls? A lot of mine are right on the line, if its not in the river, its fine.

This game is rigged.

why do you guys bump this thread every year?
why do you want to feed fresh souls to this game?
Heed my warning newcomers, run away (I played last year or it may have been the year before because of this thread. I didn't get the warning signs. My soul is still in repair).

I've got loads of other things to be worried about, but I decide to load up the game because it's the anniversary and other sites like /v/ are bringing it back.
Then I find this thread lol.

Owl and Tigger are ridiculous. Christopher is like killing God himself.

Wait what the fuck, this game has stats? that you can increase?

Mother of god.

wow, increasing your stats makes soooo much difference.

Ben struggling all night against the owl, beef up my stats and he is a piece of cake

I'm hoping to get further than I did last time. This time I'm actually bothering to replay older stages to level up my stats.

Yeah, that 80% accuracy jump is the roughest part. In every 10 ball block you can only miss 2 and have to repeat that 5 times. Even Tigger is only looking for 70% over a smaller spread. Ok, I finally see what everyone is talking about!

Not impossible but the difference between the accuracy expectation compared to the rest of the game is one hell of a ramp. And I'm not exactly going to practice a Winnie the Pooh game like 1-frame fighting game links.

Do we know the story behind this? I wonder if the game was way slower on its initial release a decade ago. There have been a ton of advancements in browsers/flash speed and depending on how it is coded could be a big factor. Hard to tell unless someone has a mid-2000's machine running unpatched XP/IE6, or feels like ripping apart the SWF.

Once I learned I could level my stats, it all became a cake walk (even Christopher Robin isn't all that hard, just have to kind of luck out)

More grinding than anything once you realize the stats.

Yeah... It's pretty heavy on the grinding. I am noticing a difference with levelled up stats but it's just whether I can be bothered to grind for long enough to max them out. Also, I got to Tigger for the first time and every single ball I hit ends up being a foul ball.
