I want to play the game but can't justify more than $40 price, Sony should just look at their own example to realize sometime pricing can drive a success of games (see: Ratchet & clank)

I don't think he's agreeing with you, unless I misread it.

Yeah you're definitely misreading the post you're quoting. And people can wait for sales and spend their money however they want, but I really dislike it when people act like there's some objective reason why X game isn't worth the launch price.

The R&C reboot was a low budget game iirc. It's not as big or largely developed as GR2

Same. It's a hella unique game for one thing, it's 20+ hours long for those who feel that short games aren't worth full price, no major technical issues, etc. etc.

It being a sequel to a game that originated from the Vita isn't a good enough excuse either...

Like of course, my cheap ass would love to pay less for it (and games in general), but nothing indicates that it isn't deserving of its price tag.

Glad to see all those good reviews. I was buying this day one anyway after the demo, can't wait to explore the world. I particularly liked the Jet set radio vibe with the floating islands full of passersby and little shops.

Nice start. I like this section from the GameSpot review:

Truth be told, you don't even need to engage with missions to enjoy yourself. Simply flying around the world is a captivating experience in its own right, both for the innate thrill of flight and for the beauty of your surroundings. The world pops with color and character, building on the first game's strong, Studio Ghibli-esque visuals. And basic exploration is once again made more rewarding by the hundreds of gems--used for ability upgrades--strewn across the map.

It would be nice if journalists had a little more movie / anime culture before doing comparisons like that. This game has very little in common with Ghibli productions, and this is a disservice to do to the game.

GR2 is a largely developed game...

let me just share the note from Keiichiro Toyama-san to the reviewers..

Video games aren't just another form of entertainment. They're something special. They captivate me and have deeply affected the course of my life. And as a creator, I want to make titles that shine as brightly as those from the glory days of Japanese gaming. Those were the feelings I brought to this project.

I wanted to create something new and novel, but also familiar and proudly Japanese. And I believe we succeeded in making something no one has ever seen before. With its dynamic gravity action and its strange and colorful world, both expansive and detailed, this is a truly special piece of entertainment that will bring fun and excitement to everyone.

Of course, this title is also a sequel, and I'm confident fans of the first title will find big surprises inside. There are very few cases where an IP born on a portable console gets an official sequel on a home console. This is no mere continuation of the series, but a huge leap forward with everything upgraded and improved. Indeed, I could talk all day about what we've achieved, but I think if you give it a try, the title will speak for itself.

There's a whole world here, and I want you to discover every last corner!

On the contrary, I wouldn't be surprised if R&C cost a lot more to make than GR2.
Alot of the budget went into the movie also remaking a game is easier quicker and cheaper than a brand new game

It feels the game is quite similar than the first one, just with a "bigger" scope.

The story is a continuation of the first, a part 2 final conclusion to Kat's origins story. Also it's not a Vita game this time built for the PS4 from the ground up and is vastly expanded and improved on with many new stuff and places etc

GR2 is a largely developed game...

Think you misread what I said. I said GR2 is the more largely developed, and been in development for several years and alot of Sony Japan studio was working on this afaik.

Also I think I read this sequel started as a Vita title then they dropped it and made for PS4 instead

It seems that there is a total of 16 outfits, with 3 of them being immediately available (or only available?) if you already have a save file from the remastered version of the first game.

Does it have to be a cleared save? Seems the cloud decided not to take my beat game save, just a random one a bit before it.

Hmmm really wasn't excited for this game at all after 5 minutes of the demo but I love the Crackdown style ability upgrades...maybe I'll buy it for $35 or so. I'll have to actually give the demo a chance first I think.

Oh I didn't realize this was coming out already. I enjoyed the first one and this seems to be fine, so I'll definitely grab this at some point.

Hum, might have to quickly rebeat the first game, just in case, then.

I had to use Google Translate to read the review, but this is roughly what it said:

"with a total of 16 available costumes of which Unlock 3 start if there is a game of "Gravity Rush Remastered."

That's cool, guessing the 3 you get for having the previous game are just outfits from the old game. But still it's a cool touch.

Wow, another solid game for PS4. I can't keep up with all these awesome games that have been coming out. I want to Platinum FFXV, still have DQ Builder to play, want to play World of Final Fantasy as well, aww shit Nioh and Nier Automata are coming out soon too!?

What an awesome time to be PS4 owner.

Do we know which costumes exactly are given if you have a save?

Solid reviews. I don't want to read reviews since i'm on a media blackout but was anything said about the technical performance? Apparently, the demo was a bit rough in that aspect. Is it smooth in the final version?

Anyway, i'm in day one.

None of the reviews cited any major issues concerning it from what I can recall. Hell, a few people in this thread that have played the game said everything was smooth. One person said that a certain boss made it dip a bit, but other than that, all good unless I'm mistaken.

I think the FPS dips of the demo have been fixed, it was a months old build anyways

Seems these days reviews don't really go into performance, probably because they were done before any patches.

Thanks. Great to hear problems were ironed out in the final game.

Looks great.

What is the major complaint?

the biggest complaints is the camera at some points gets a bit wonky and some of the mission designs are slightly lackluster. Other than that, the complaints are generally minimal from having read about 6 or 7 different reviews.

Even those 2 don't generally read like complaints so much as bug bears the reviewers feel don't ruin the gameplay to any great extent

Wow is that second picture actual Gravity Rush concept art? Or is it the mentioned Studio 4C/European art? Looks incredible. If it's Gravity Rush art, I might seriously think about getting some franchise art books...

Working on Platinuming the first game literally right now, does the demo for 2 feature the fully updated control scheme?
( Started before FFXV and Guardian when the remaster was on sale and just getting back it it now)
I'm completely charmed and preordering but I have a few gripes i'd like to see if they changed

Why are they charging so much for a 1st party game. I bought the first game day one on vita/ps4 but I'm not paying £46 for this.

Damn, those are some high scores. Hopefully the final build irons out the performance issues that turned me off of the demo, even though I enjoyed the first game.
