Gravity Rush character designer shows how Kat wears her clothing

Okay, but why dress like that in the first place? Where does she even get the clothing? She sticks out like a sore thumb in her own game.

Lovely character, super adorable. This IP deserves to be way more popular.
Having spent a lot of time with the sequel over the past few days, I'd say there is still a lot of room for improvement.

I quite enjoy it and do support it but some of the design decisions are baffling.

I feel like they've crafted an amazing world, great controls, lots of great ideas and an amazing set of characters but then often drop players into some pretty poorly designed missions.

One thing the game insists on doing regularly is dropping players into a situation and basically saying "now you need to find a specific item, person or place" with zero indication of what it might look like or where it might be. Considering the size of the environment, the visual complexity and the gravity shifting, it regularly turns into a scavenger hunt. I'm not a fan of those sections at all and it happens a lot.

...but then you run across a brilliant mission or some amazing moment that flips the whole thing on its head.

So it's a good game with some weird design decisions and an uneven pace. Definitely not for everyone, that is for certain. That's OK, though, still awesome overall.

I really hope people didn't demand an explanation. The thirst for realism is unquenchable.
Heh, yeah. That's something that's starting to bug me. With just about everything these days there is always someone begging the question "how is that practical?!" when it just doesn't always need to be. Design can be ridiculous for ridiculous sake. I think it only matters when a game is going for actual realism. The world of Gravity Rush is about as crazy and impractical as it gets.

If I remember correctly there was one similar to this for Escha from Atelier, but I don't think it was step-by-step, more a deconstruction of the many different layers and components to her dress.

Would love to see the concept art for all the different styles the designers go through. Does Gravity Rush 2 have any?

Nomura: how does Lulu fasten her belts

Ironic considering how according to Nomura, the belts in her design were specificall a challenge to the 3D rendering artists to see if they could actually design all of those and have them render as they should in her LOD 0 model

Isn't it just a romper, though? Yeah, she has those metal things on her as well, but a romper isn't that difficult to put on.

Source: my girlfriend likes to wear rompers.
I was referring to the swirly... thing. I'm not sure how that works. I'm gonna assume magic.
Lmao, what even happens between 3-4?
She rolls up her braided hair into her hair and then tucks that hair into the rest of her hair. It's pretty self-explanitory.

I was gonna roll with that it may have clamps that attach to each other, but I could see it being magic in this world.

The golden swirls are magic. In Grav Rush 2, when you switch between jupiter and lunar, the golden swirls change to reflect that as well
