Just a little bit of info that we already mostly had but now officially confirmed by Nintendo

So the dock just upscales 720p to 1080p? No extra resources for games when plugged into a wall?

Kinda just left up in the air. Not sure if its upscaled 1080p or native really. Given what we've heard from Digital Foundry though dock mode does have better clock speed so possibly native

I honestly completely forgot about the DF article (it's late). Still, some confirmation here from Nintendo themselves would have been nice.

And there it is. 3 Hours for Zelda.

That is if these are accurate times. Nintendo hasn't been good at self reporting battery life with the 3DS'

I think it's safe to assume it will be native since if the console can't render 1080p then it falls behind even the Wii U in resolution options.

I'm confused about this charging thing...

So I can only play 3 hours straight from my TV? Does it come with a cable? Can I play while charging?

Why are people complaining about storage when you can get a massive microsd card for cheap these days?

Very unimpressed that a machine touted as a next gen portable can not even manage a 1080p screen. My phone from like 6 years ago has that.

Please help me with my bad english
3 hours of battery life is mediocre, but the console having a USB Type-C port kinda make it a non-issue.

Storage should shock know one. Buy a SD card. Am all for Being Your Own Storage not sure what people expect. It's not rocking a cheap harddrive.

It's a handheld end of the day.

32gb?

Well you can kiss any hope of current gen third party support goodbye with that then. Games get patches bigger than 32gb these days, let alone not being enough for a single digital download of an actual game.

Guess that also confirms it's the original 7th gen version of Skyrim, not the remaster.

Fuck me but this is a cacophony of fuck ups by Nintendo. I mean you expect them to fuck something up, but they're setting a personal best here by quite a margin.

EDIT: yes, you can add extra storage with SD cards, but it's expensive per gigabyte, slow as fuck, and most customers won't actually do so.

As far as developers have to be concerned, the only storage available is what the system ships with, and thus pitifully small amount means most modern third party titles will simply not be coming to the system.

Would you prefer 720p games on a 1080p screen or 720p screen? Native is typically way better. And rendering 1080p on the go would be very battery intensive.

No, if you're playing on your TV then the Switch will be docked and the dock is plugged into the wall and runs on electricity.

You can also have a separate charger to charge and play in portable and desktop mode, like a smartphone.
