I honestly cannot believe that Mario Kart isn't coming until 2 months after launch.
I got a pre order in yesterday and I want to keep it but man, just so barren.
Uh oh. A full portable Minecraft. More sales incoming.
Which context?
I feel Nintendo is dropping the ball here by launching before they have more games ready. That's all I'm saying. It would be completely different if they waited until Mario Kart 8 and ARMS were ready, for instance. Not game changers, but those are very solid releases that would mean at least a handful of excellent launch titles.
Someone suggested that the PS4 lineup was just as bad or worse. I'm saying that it wasn't. That's all.
Better than the 19 month wait for Kart on Wii U...
Waiting 2+ months for a port of an old game with the new feature being a battle mode?
When having it right away would definitely provide a decently-sized bigger punch to the system launch?
I mean, sure it's better, but it's still not good.
Ok, bad example. But there are lots of others. How about Deus Ex? Or Hitman? Or Witcher 3?
Didn't dev kits go out to third party devs very late/only to a small handful of devs? The reason Sony and Microsoft get such strong 3rd party support is because they literally design their consoles with input from their devs. They bend over backwards to appease the devs for the promise of their support. Nintendo has a looooong history of not giving a damn about 3rd party devs (or actively screwing them over). This has squat to do with devs not liking image. Nintendo never courts devs. Sony and Microsoft do.
You really think this thing can run those games when it's running Zelda, a Wii U up port at 900p 30fps? I have some bad news for you...
Factually incorrect. Here is Vita (surprisingly strong) launch lineup. Count the Day-1 third party games:I don't think sony "courts" with devs, they're very similar to Nintendo in that regards. Sony ahd the exact same thing happening to Switch with Vita. Sony did all they could but third party refused to make games for the system. Why? Handhelds are toys. This is the opinion of most of the western third parties. Sony tried to change their minds by making a badass FPS for the system but it failed to change the minds.
Do you really think Sony acted differently for their two consoles? I don't think so, Sony isn't a company that enjoys losing money. Handhelds are cursed. There was nothing they could do about Vita. DS sold more than 150 million units and barely got western support while overflooding with Japanese games. But now we're living in an age where only things that matter are FPSs, CRPGs and sandbox game. If you don't have them, you're bound to fail.
Didn't we get Modern Warfare games on Wii? You could do wonders with downporting, as long as someone paying for it.

the games & all of the console features cleary aren't ready for March, why even launch this, they should wait till November, maybe it's keep investors happy.
PS4 had no games for over 1.5 years at least, but that's no excuse for the switch having a shitty launch.

I wonder what the hell everyone was playing then, because I could have sworn there were well over 100 games on the ps4 within the first year alone.PS4 had no games for over 1.5 years at least, but that's no excuse for the switch having a shitty launch.

The scary thing is, they announced that they delayed the system to have more games at launch.
I thought i read somewhere that zelda would be 1080p on switch by launch. You really think this thing can run those games when it's running Zelda, a Wii U up port at 900p 30fps? I have some bad news for you...
Yeah this is truly bafflingThe scary thing is, they announced that they delayed the system to have more games at launch.
And speaking of ports, I thought everyone was talking about how the Switch was going to unify their console and handheld software lineups...so where's the Pokemon and all the ports of other 3DS titles for people who skipped the 3DS?
LMAO at 1-2 Switch being a $50(!!!!) title as well. A two player 'party' game that's less versatile than a cheap pack of playing cards, and which only runs on a $300 piece of hardware with a couple hours battery life. "It's a videogame where you ignore the video part! It's a party game that plays like a free drinking game...but for fifty dollars. Totally great for parties, or even after parties!"

I consider the Switch as a portable console that you can plug on your TV. So it's main role is being a portable console. Therefore, I would compare it more to the PS Vita. In that case here was the launch line up for the Vita:

I bet your point about the investor part is true in march Nintendo's fiscal year ends i bet they want a bit of launch profit to crack the revenue up a bit or make the loss a little bit less.
I bet during holiday they will do a price cut and pack Zelda and other games in.
And yeah i regret getting ps4 at launch should have got it when bloodborne launched would have saved me a few bucks anyway i love my ps4 now got a bunch of fantastic games on it.
Another thing, what is with all of these ridiculously high priced games that should be $20 digital titles?
Super Bomberman R is $60
Minecraft is $60
1, 2, Switch is $50
Ultra Street Fighter 2 is $40
Puyo Puyo Tetris is $40
the games & all of the console features cleary aren't ready for March, why even launch this, they should wait till November, maybe it's keep investors happy.

PS4 launched with
The point was to show a poster who claimed the other consoles had no games similar to the switch how wrong he is.What the PS4 launched with is completely irrelevant outside of list warz. Nintendo is coming from a failed console and they are trying a huge gamble and third party devs are not going to risk shit without seeing first if it's a hit. So yeah, it's going to be mostly Nintendo games for a while and I'm not sure how anyone expected otherwise. Perhaps more importantly in this comparison considering this, all of the PS4 exclusive titles it launched with sucked ass except Resogun. At least Nintendo has Zelda.
The point was to show a poster who claimed the other consoles had no games similar to the switch how wrong he is.
Also, why are you focused on exclusives, which Zelda is not? The switch has very few games that you can play on it, full stop. There is no good reason to single out exclusives when discussing launch titles unless your goal is to try and make the Switch look slightly less like the absolute dumpster fire it is.
Scratch that. Dumpster fires are actually more interesting than the launch lineup of the Switch.
