I went to the AutoSport International show today and they had the F1 tires there and the 2017 one as well, it's quite wider then the 2016 ones.

I had to look back at those two (Lotus) Renault victories (both with Kimi). That seem such a long time ago.

I'm reading some voices recently that the Lotus of those years (2012, 2013) was quite a lot better than its results, particularly because of the drivers underperforming.
But I didn't follow those seasons so I'm not sure how much truth is in that

In 2013 the Lotus was probably the second best car overall.

How did people feel about it back then? I just saw that Kimi had 85 points to Vettel's 89 after Spain. At that point people might have been tempted to expect an exciting season, not Vettel's unbelievable 9 win streak and a points record.

Looking at standings, if Alonso was able to fight for championship in that Ferrari, then it's a sure thing he would do the same or better in Lotus. And in 2013 it would be easy second place.

Next few days it is:

I have to say that I'm pretty excited for this season just to see Bottas in the best car and how he gets on.

In other news, Italian press reporting that this years Ferrari will be the first Ferrari with an S-Duct in its nose since the F2008. I think we all know what this means.

They will mess up something with it for sure and they will recognize mistake after several races

Thinking about going the Barca GP - can someone recommend me the best site for general/standing tickets for Sunday?

My girlfriend got us K seats for Christmas. They're near the end of the main straight and overlook into turns 5 and 6. No idea how good they actually are, though, as I've never been to the circuit and I couldn't find many good photos of that particular view online.

Still, I'm really looking forward to it!

Yeah that's a good spot too specially in F1 since the action, even if it's DRS action, will tend to happen at the end of the main straight.

For general admission I'd go to T4, last year they got lucky... I would not recommend GA though.

Can't wait for that news stories after Australia about Ferrari's pace to be improved in Spain where they will bring updates to solve their issues (which won't work as intended aka The Ferrari In-Season development)

It's probably already being prepped.

I'm not sure how relevant that is for Formula 1, though. Their old wind tunnel being a piece of junk is the reason they've been flip-flopping around and using different tunnels, no?

I don't know what progress the field of computational fluid dynamics has made over the last few years, but when Virgin Racing tried to design their car exclusively with computational modelling they failed and went back to a wind tunnel. Coming up with a car design and refining it is quicker and far more cost efficient with CFD. But as far as I know, teams today still need to use wind tunnels to verify the designs.

I didn't mean to say that F1 teams don't need wind tunnels anymore, but rather that the story could've been written 5 years ago with the exact same headline. Ferrari's wind tunnel being a useless piece of junk is well known and the reason why any wind tunnel news from Ferrari are a meme at this point.

Lots of orange on that page. Is this going to be like when they teased with a bunch of red and white and it turned out to be another black livery?

I will be super disappointed if there's no orange color. I mean, Ron is gone, Brown announced new livery and it better be with some orange paint!
