Did anyone here successfully buy all of the 2017 characters with FM? I bought the 2016 season pass, have Akuma (bought with FM), and currently have like 150k in FM. I've done all the character stories, a couple of easy survivals, only completed 3 of the trials. Have not completed the full story mode yet. I'm hoping I can get all the remaining characters this year without paying more money and even have some FM to buy stages at some point. Is that doable? I try to do all of the weekly challenges also.

I know if I do everything I'll have enough, but I don't think I'll ever be able to do all of the hard/extreme survivals with every character. Maybe 2-3 if I'm lucky. If I need to do all of those I'd just buy the pass.

If you bought the 2016 Season Pass and do all the Easy/Normal Survivals, Character Stories, Demonstrations, Cinematic Story Mode on both difficulties, and Trials you should have more than enough. Especially if you log in and sweep the CPU a few times every week for 5k FM.

Edit: I should clarify that you don't need to do all of the above (especially not trials) but it's all easy enough that you shouldn't have to spend much time to earn enough FM for the S2 cast (and they, in turn, offer more FM oppprtunities). Especially if you make an effort to do the weekly challenges, one of which always offers 5k FM and anyone could do in their sleep in under 3 minutes. It's basically a weekly login reward.

I'm sitting on like 570k FM, so yeah. I bought the frist season pass when it went on sale for the first time. I actually bought Juri and the Guile stage with FM, which was a waste, I guess.

edit: I have only done 1 normal survival, but all on easy.

I did get all season 1 characters with FM and few stages too. You'd need to finish all characters survival easy and normal, it's very easy to do but quite the grind. Also finish all characters trails and view their tutorial demos.Should be much easier this season with weekly missions.

I'm going to crack the 1 million mark soon (adding the FM that I spent), and I only did hard survival for two characters. I didn't even do normal survival for all characters. There's tons of money to be had.

Bison having the highest win rate is a online thing. I can't really react to his dashes like I do offline which I practiced doing.

People can get away with stupid shit online in this game. Like getting a throw by Not-Gief during an active frame of a Cr,MK if there where reacting to the move.

And Ossiel is ruining my weekend now.

Have Karin players actually been able to implement her new juggle state MP? I forget it even exists. That and her air target combo have seen no use from me.

There is literally no input lag difference between online and offline, why would it be harder to react online unless lag is involved?

I use the target combo a lot, it's my go-to air-to-air now. But the juggle is basically impossible. I've seen Mago try it in neutral jumps, since you can juggle with qcb.lk, EX tenko, EX orochi for huge damage, but the timing is just too specific.

Rollback is a beautiful thing. You see Bison's forward dash and instantly throw out a button. It showed that you hit him!!!!....... Oh wait no, rollback hits and you actually got Crush Countered.

Granted this is for connections with probably 100/over 100ms ping but still.

Yes?

Is it those 7ms that make the difference for you?

(And these are super old, it has long been reduced)

I know about the original since everyone got one of those around launch, guess he got nothing afterward! Doubt he'd get anything this season too thanks to shrinking user base.

Zombegoast, you seem like a pretty decent player overall, but if you put half the time you spend complaining about your losses into improving your game, you'd be EVO material.

I know how it works. But that doesn't excuse SFV's poor input latency compared to USF4 and other fighting games tested. Hell even Capcom's own 3SOE on the PS3.
That has absolutely nothing to do with your offline/online complaint, though. And your former argument (only 1ms connection) didn't make sense if you think you know how it works.

And honestly, SF4 online was...not great.

But I'm not really talking about specific nerf/buff complaints, it seems like people are getting upset at the overall direction this game is taking with S2. That's the part I think people need to pay attention to, especially Capcom.

Though the nerf/buff discussions are important too. RIP Alex ;_;

Holy. Shit. I'm reaching the end of my patience with Alex's shit buttons. It feels like they're slow on both ends of the attack, they constantly get beat on start up, and then they're crazy easy to whiff punish if I miss in neutral. This shitty excuse for a neutral game might be the final straw.

Who am I kidding, I don't find anyone else in the game nearly as fun. Though tbh, I'm losing a lot of motivation to play the game at all. Maybe I'm just shit, but the way I'm losing with Alex is sucking a lot of fun from the experience. I don't mind losing when it feels like I can take something fromthe match, but it legit feels like he has nothing, no neutral, no cheap gimmicks (the only thing that comes close are his stomp/stun gun headbutts, which are utterly unsafe and can be consistently reacted to by good players), no consistent oki setups, no defensive options (outside of parry I guess, but I don't use his trigger), shit v-reversal, etc... Even when I win most of the time, it usually just feels like it was because the opponent hasn't fought Alex before and doesn't know what he can do OR I just got lucky with a couple guesses, it rarely feels like I'm legitimately outplaying someone else anymore. Dunno what to do, I've tried a good chunk of the cast and I don't see myself sticking with anyone else.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated.

It'll get better in 2018.

This is just based on 1ms. Imagine higher.

God damn. This is rollback netcode, the input lag doesn't change.

It's really pointless, isn't it?

Read this: http://mauve.mizuumi.net/2012/07/05/understanding-fighting-game-networking/

But you probably won't.

Bison being a pain to react to online isnt coz of input lag. In rollback if you are lagging a lot there will be teleport netcode but even otherwise. Its always there , there are some animation frames that get skipped/rollbacked and makes things harder to react to.
