That stuff is shown in the Treehouse stream from last week.
I think we saw it in the Life in the Ruins trailer too.

I would call it a downgrade if there wasn't parts of the game that were significantly improved. The landscapes look much better and some textures are sharper (not to mention better resolution and performance). So the lightning thing to me just feels like tweeking some settings to get the best performance where it matters.
Exactly, the lightining i didn't actually notice any changes until pointed out, while other changes felt much more clearer to me, from the textures to some stutters that the game had before. There's also some more details added like squirrels in trees at the start of the game, etc.
I need to see some retail build footage of shrines to really see if the lighting is good. We're going to be spending a lot of time in those, so I hope the lighting is appropriate.
To note: The version most people played during these events is not the retail version. Here's a video of the retail version on Switch, commented by Aonuma.

Shrine gameplay from the Switch version
It's brighter than shrines in the Wii U E3 demo, but I actually think it looks fine. Certainly better than the opening cave.
Is thst final build footage? It looks amazing!!
Presumably, as it's the same build Treehouse played (version 1.0), which is different from the demo the press got their hands on.

Loadings to get into a shrine are pretty fast.
So with the lighting, are you all specifically talking about the starting chamber? Because that's the only noticeable change I have seen

That's probably not retail it is the same version used at the other demos Ver. 12S, you can pretty easily see that at the end of the video in the bottom right corner of the start screen. If any version is retail, or near final, it's the one used by the Treehouse Live event which was 1.0.0 and likely also used for all the other footage we have of non Great Plateau gameplay.
I know Aonuma says it's retail but that could mean final retail content, not literal retail copy.
Why did the voice tell him to follow the marker on his Sheikah slate? I thought this game doesn't tell you where to go? Or is that just an initial thing?
I thinks that's just for the first tower activationWhy did the voice tell him to follow the marker on his Sheikah slate? I thought this game doesn't tell you where to go? Or is that just an initial thing?

That's just an initial thing for you to trigger the first Shiekah tower which is needed to progress (as it makes the others appear in the world too). The game will always give you a quest to progress the main story and you can see your side quests in your quest log. But from what we've seen you can ignore all of that but you're still going to need to trigger that first tower then beat the 4 nearby shrines to be able to get off the plateau and explore the entire world freely. Why did the voice tell him to follow the marker on his Sheikah slate? I think it's absolutely awesome that Link's arsenal is visible on his person.
Its the little things that make it all that more immersive.

This guy looks a little grabby. The ragdoll physics could be very entertaining if this enemy throws link a good distance. Is this screenshot new?
Amazon.
Can get some real good direct comparisons outta this, despite different times of day here and there:
Some weird HUD differences, no forecast on the Wii U ones.

Maybe it's the compression making technical improvements less pronounced, but all things considered these are actually really close. It's that one horizon shot where the draw distance differences seem most pronounced.
That church one is weird though. The temple seems clearer on Wii U?

It's weird, the Switch ones are all 844px high (maybe it's 844p, not 900p?), but all blurrier, as if they've just been scaled up from 720.
Main difference in those first shots seems to be the sunrise actually illuminating all the water on Switch, and not at all on Wii U.
