So, I went through a few of them and they're dope! Before I Scream and Fathers Are The Curse are my faves. When I listened to Mothers Are The Blame I wasn't sure if it was the same guy, though, lol (also, nice Chrono Trigger sample on Greg). He changed style a lot between Mothers, Fathers, and Before I Scream, where he sounds Trap-ier, at least from what I can tell after my first listens. It's still blending together for me. Needs a few more listens.

Some of the newer tracks definitely sounded straight up like Future, lol. Didn't know Fewtch had ghostwriters. What's the story behind Key? Who else did he write for?

Listen to Jay Z's Black Album.

Jay Elec had a new feature the other day. Think someone posted it here. Let's be real, though, does anyone really look forward to his album? His feature on Coloring Book was dope, though.

I don't look forward to his album because I don't think he's ever realistically dropping one. But if he did you can be damn sure I would eagerly listen to it.
I've given Jay Z some tries here and there. I just don't like him. I liked some songs on Reasonable Doubt. But he's just not for me. Every track I've heard from him doesn't do much for me.

Okay, I think Ka is finally clicking for me - who would've thought. Listening to Honor Killed the Samurai again. Still don't have any clue what he's even talking about, though, lol. I would have to concentrate solely on the lyrics, but I'm listening more for the atmospheric vibe, right now, tbh. Sounds like DOOM to me, where I pretty much have never understood 98% of his lyrics. I mean, I remember reading about how DOOM used old-ass dictionaries for words and phrases that not even native speakers would know anymore, so how was I supposed to, especially at the age of 14/15 when I started listening to him.

EDIT: RapGenius tells me Ka's rapping from the view of a Samurai or something? Okay... Wouldn't have realized that.

Man, the beat on Illicit Fields. Beautiful.

Yeah KA is one hell of a wordsmith. But I have to be in a very specific mood to listen to him.

Not for Future, the only one confirmed is Juicy J... He's very mum about the others. Also there's a reason I didn't recommend Mother's. And Give Em Hell 2 still essential listening.

Have you listened to Dr Yen Lo? That's the only album of his that really clicked with me personally.
I actually gave all his albums a listen or two when GAF-Hop was hyping him so much in 2015 after Dr. Yen Lo dropped, but it just never clicked. Found the flow too monotonous and even though I liked the vibe of the production it wasn't something I was in the mood at that point in time. But seems I'm slowly warming up to it now.

Gave the Sampha a listen and found it a bit... boring? I'll probably try again later.
I think that first SBTRKT album is still my favorite thing I've heard from him...

Man, The Night's Gambit is dope, too. Whew. This the shit you have to listen to high and at night with headphones.
Ever heard 30 keys? It's probably my favorite track of his.
Knight's Gambit is cool, but I always thought the first track was far and away the best on there and the subsequent ones disappointed me because they don't all have that same grimy, dark vibe.

Finally getting around to Run The Jewels 3,this album is a lot more cohesive and sounds like it has a single sound than each of the previous two (though I probably like Run The Jewels 2 more).
The beat on Talk To Me is ridiculous.

Knowledge is power, guard it well
Is Honor Killed The Samurai ever going to be available anywhere but Apple Music?

edit: Nevermind I just bought the CD straight from his website

GAF-Hop Discusses

1. What do you like about the current state of hip-hop? What’s missing from the game? - I like that more and more Hip Hop seems to be focusing on social issues and Black Pride more recently. We need more Artists willing to put it all on wax.

7. Onions, Avocados, Both, or Neither? - Avocados...because thats Guac and that means Burritos
8. Do you still listen to Eminem? Why? - Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem Show and The 8-Mile Soundtrack stay in Rotation
9. Who’s your favorite pop artist? And who’s the finest? - Does Drake count? and Rihanna is fine but the true Baddie is SZA
