If you're in the US, afaik, the system will be the same as last year where Syfy will have streaming on their website with your cable login.

Since we're only a day away now, and Netflix hasn't mentioned anything, I'm guessing we aren't getting the episodes as they air in the US. :(

Was at a screener of the first two episodes last night - watching the show on a big screen really shows off how cinematically the show is shot. I thought the two episodes were better than all of season 1, has me legitimately excited.

Those episodes from the end of season one, coupled with the first four episodes of season two (it premieres Wednesday night at 10), serve as a reminder not only that TV shows are usually more interesting when characters come together than when they’re kept apart, but that they’re usually more interesting when the characters (and the audience) actually know what’s happening and can do something about it than when they’re fumbling around in the dark, searching for clues to some vague mystery.

Definitely easy to binge watch, I actually think it plays out better when you can do that too. 40 minute episodes versus your Netflix/HBO 55 minute episodes. I took down 3 last night really quick to re-watch Season 1's ending. There's a Season 1 OT in the Off-Topic Community Forum that could answer some questions you may have if you are worried about spoilers here.

One of the benefits of that kind of unfettered access to the source material (i.e. the brains of Abraham and Franck) is they’re not tied down to doing a book a season (which was their original pitch) or even every two seasons. As they developed the show, Fergus says they realized that “it’s okay to split in the middle of a book or split three-quarters of the way,” and that it wasn’t necessary to be held to the structure of the stories on the page.

“That took a while to reconcile because our original plan had been to go at feature speed,” Fergus went on. “Then you realize the texture of the show is not going to work because you’ll be cruising through plot events and not really delving into character, which is what shows do so much better than films.” Once they slowed they pace, they were able to begin incorporating elements from the novellas, pulling the structure further away from the books.

don't forget its TWO episodes tonight, there are thirteen episodes total in season 2. Dunno if there will be any breaks, I don't think any big holidays are up over the next 11 weeks and usually the last two episodes air back to back too.

God I'm so excited about this. I only just recently watched through season 1 since I just automatically associate anything with SyFy as garbage. I can only hope this show can build on its audience. Absolutely amazing stuff.

Technically not true if I'm reading Cornballer's info above correctly. The premiere is the first two episodes presented tonight with limited commercial interruptions. It is, in effect, 2 42 minute episodes (84 minutes total) with about 10 minutes of commercials.

My DirecTV shows 10pm-11:35pm for the recording. It is also too stupid to realize that the replay of this on Saturday is a repeat, but I guess when they replay it on Saturday they're doing the full commercial thing, because I have an EP1 at the top of one hour followed by an EP2 at the top of the next.

I have seen the premiere. There was no noticeable stop point or line of demarcation between the two eps.

No kidding. I have to work really early, so this is a bit of a push for me. I don't sleep well enough as it is hah.

For those of you calling it a slow burn, is that because you read the novels beforehand? I haven't read the novels, so I went in fresh, and I didn't find it to be that much of a slow burn. It captured my interest fairly quickly. But I'm thinking maybe the perspectives are different.

I just watch it on my DVR the next day, but it sucks having to avoid some sites because they like typing out long articles discussing the episode

Went in pretty much blind for me. First 3eps were really dry for me, I liked the world building and ships but those initial eps were definitely on the slow side.

Not yet sold on B. Drapper from the little snippets/trailer they showed.

Still looking forward to it although the last book Babylon's Ashes didn't grab me like the other books.

I went in without knowing anything about the series and binged the first season this past Saturday.

I appreciated the world building but it didn't really hook me until the last three episodes. My issue was that is suffered from a trope many shows do where several story lines are covered and you don't really get a sense of how it's all connected until there's a moment where they intertwine, only then is there a sense of "ok, lets get things started!" I agree with the review that was posted earlier, season 2's opener comes off as much stronger now that we're past that moment in the story.

Oh, it's today! For some reason I thought it was later this month.

Just heard about it randomly from some podcast and checked it out on the basis of it being scientifically realistic with travel time and gravity. I never would have thought to watch it because I just assumed everything on Syfy was trash. Ended up marathoning all of S1 over a weekend.

I haven't been this hyped for a premiere in a while, even GoT doesn't do it for me anymore.

Agreed, having the 'mystery' solved and independent storylines converging will make the show flow a lot better and faster.

It's a massive hurdle to the shows success; I'm hopeful that Netflix and Amazon exposure brought some more people in. Wish Amazon have it a little more front page action, but they have their own shows to tout.

I think I'm gonna re-watch all of s1 before I start s2. That'll give me at least a few episodes to binge. So excited though! Undoubtedly the best sci fi show to air in a long time.
