No Chaos triumvirates.. you'd figure they'd get one instead of the Imperium getting two :|

But they did say that the campaign would run for the year so they better be coming at some point. Abaddon needs a new model badly.

The Gathering Storm story arch is coming to a close, but that doesn't mean that Chaos is getting isn't getting a Triumvirate. The Imperium is getting more character models because they are a pretty big fraction now with most of factions within the Imperium being represented. Also, We got the Thousand Sons models that came out with new models for Magnus and Ahriman.

Right, there's the TS. Still, when the Big Event of the Gathering Storm is Abaddons 13th Black Crusade and Chaos gets nothing- it is a bit odd.

The Gathering Storm is part one of the 13th Black Crusade. The 13th Black Crusade is going to be going on for a while. They have said so a couple of times.

The Thousand Sons got like, a whole army of minis though. I do think there is a lot more coming down the pipeline for chaos and I'll bet more Eldar stuff as well.

I'm guessing they're going to go with some sort of corrupting effect to his gene seed as a side effect of whatever heresy brought him back.

being a person that got really into 40k lore back in december. seems like all the events of late have really brought a ton of attention back onto the game. Is this a normal thing to have these many events and big things happening like magnus and girlyman?

Not at all. There's stuff happening now which was hinted as happening 'soon' when I started the hobby 25 years ago. There's definitely been a recent change of heart with regards to actually moving the story forward in pretty significant ways.

But will the chapter actually care what the inquisition says about this? And if hes back at his post, what about the other absent primarchs? We've already got hints about Dorn and Vulkan still being around. Russ and Khan are also mia, but not confirmed dead.

But still, imagine the tactical benefit of finally being able to produce more of the imperiums greatest weapon. Not to mention Cypher may just steal some.

For some folks, this has got to be a nightmare. Gill has, potentially, control and loyalty of dozens or even hundreds of chapters of his own geneseed. Not to mention emperor knows how many guardsmen will flock to him.

And what will the other chapters think of all this? And the church? He's been afk for nine thousand years, but hes still a demi-god, so his word could radically change the order of things if hes not careful.

And Choas...the demon primarchs are going to be out for blood here. Every one of them will want his head as a prize.

I'm honestly hoping that the knowledge that hes back will lure some of the others out. Bring one out every few years till all the loyalists are back, and geat up for a grand reordering of things. After all, isn't the golden throne itself broken, and slowly failing.

I am very happy they are moving forward, there are plenty of characters historically and unlimited they can create, no reason to stay in the same place.

They've been coming out with new models regardless of the timeline not progressing, though. New Models were released with every new Codex, and then there was new stuff from Forgeworld all the time.

Seeing those 30k book leaks last night about the Emperor getting a model is the coolest thing. Back when I got into 40k I was amazed thre wasn't already a model honestly. Not even to be used on the table top, just kind of a statue for collectors on Forge World or something. I'm super excited for an Emperor mode. Also, a goo excuse to start a Custodes army!

Lots of cool stuff in there for sure. The forge world support of the normal GW lines is always a welcome sight for enthusiasts. The Thousand Sons dreadnought and terminators would look great with all the new minis that were recently released.

As an aside, I do not like the Forge World primarchs. The 2 GW releases are infinitely better IMO.

That is the big question, isn't it? I mean, there are going to be A LOT of people in the highest positions of the Imperium that are not going to be happy at all that a Primarch is back. It will probably create some deep divisions within the Imperium. I can see the Officio Assassinorum getting some phone calls to put Gurillabutt down. I'm sure others will claim he is tainted by chaos and try and cast him out or declare him or the chapter as renegades. The possibilities are endless, with the majority of those possibilities being horrible!

Hey, at least people will now have fluff reasons why those loyalists are fighting each other on the table top, lol.

Yeeeeeah, I'm not entirely certain about that one. But, he probably is. Those dirty Dark Angels have likely been relentlessly hunting the good guy the whole time. Sounds about right. Those fuckers are a hair from heresy anyway.
