You know there is a way to get out of the camera bug right?

I forgot it what it is but I found the solution pretty quickly by googling. Turn something off and on again and then the camera bug goes away unless you get it again later on. But then you can do the same thing again.
Yeah, it happened half a dozen times or so during the last quarter of Costlemark. The first time it happened and screwed me over, I was too mad (at the time) to Google a solution. It wasn't until after I gave up and shut the game off that I found out how stupidly simple it was (use an item on someone else in your party).

But I shouldn't have needed to "fix" such a problem to begin with. Over a decade of development, yeah...

I took on the Adamantoise today and took it down. My characters are all around level 60, I don't have the "Zwill Crossblades" and it ended up taking about three and a half hours. I had multiple party members dead a couple of times for long periods of time, and not once did I get prompted for a summon. Selfish bastards.

Thought you guys might be interested in what the FFXV Combo community have been up to.

For those that don't know, a CMV is a Combo Music Video. The whole idea is be sick, smokin' and stylish in games with fun combat system. Fortunately FFXV is one of those with a fair amount of depth already discovered with a great dedicated combo community already showcasing what's possible so far.

BumblebeeCody - The King of Insomnia
Purged Gyrum - Some Like It Hot
FinishingTouch - Chase the Light!
黒Kuro Dante - Combo Act 1 (Ultima)
Max Xomarios - Genesis
Absolute Emperor - Smokin' Sick Style
R. Elixr - Warp Insanity
0Bw101 - I Was King
fake linkachu - Stylish Combo Movie 1

So are there certain times I can't use items? I thought I could use potions outside of battle but it hasn't been lettiing me. And it seems like sometimes in battle I can't either.

Any tips on handling large groups of enemies? They seems to be the toughest for me to handle.

Can Prompto's distraction skill be useful? He seems to die too quick to be drawing aggro.

I have so many more questions still, but I think I!ll leave it at that for now. Over 30 hours in, love this fuckin game.

Regarding the 60 fps patch, what optimizations do you think they're doing to achieve that? I've noticed that when the camera clips through characters, they're actually textured somewhat on the inside, which seems like a major source of wasted memory, yeah?

I'm trying to optimize my own game and its file size and all my objects are now completely hollow with zero normals on the inside. Not sure what's better, really.

Finally beat the game

So, I kinda feel that Ch. 13 was nowhere near as bad as people had complained about, but that is just my opinion of course. I didn't mind the bits where
the giant sent you all the way to the bottom, or being alone and trying to "avoid" the MTs (even thought I just fought them). Was it great? No, it definitely felt long, but I get what they went for. Thought the Prompto bit where he is an MT is fine with me...they just never followed up with more of that and I think that sucked.

Overall though,
the game was pretty awesome I felt. I do think that the game had more potential though, and it wasn't that the plot was bad but that the way it was told was kinda weird. Having a lot of the drama off screen I get...but cmon it would've all been way better if they included it through more cutscenes or dialogue. The ending was pretty damn good I thought, definitely emotional
. I didn't think I was gonna like FFXV, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I got a 4k tv with HDR last weekend and it's a game changer for this game. It already looked good, but this game is amazing looking in 4k and the HDR makes everything look so much more vibrant.

So this is annoying. Am I doing something wrong with Armiger Chain? The L1+R1 input rarely works unless I'm mashing the hell out of them. I've never been able to activate it consistently.

Finally beat the game at 60+ hours, was messing around a lot in chapter 3 then chapter 9.

I almost feel like the game is an allegory for its own development. Kind of fucking around for a long time before rushing to an end.

I'm just starting this game, and I would like to know if there is a "things you wished you knew before playing" kinda guide?

Some general tips regarding ascension and such?

Kotaku had a pretty good one, it's where I found out you should get Ignis's Regroup ability as early as possible from.

Just finished this yesterday evening. I'm kinda... I dunno how I feel about it honestly. I felt the story was a complete mess. The ending was ... a real let down. But, good grief when the game was firing on all cylinders it was fantastic.

I'm looking forward to playing NG Plus after they're done with any story additions. But I sincerely doubt any addition will made that much difference. I feel the major issue is in the writing and set up of the story. When the majority of the cut scenes and story revelations are payoffs to things you never see or experience as a player it makes it hard to feel any emotional response to whats happening. Honestly, Chapter 13 is too late in the game to make any meaningful addition to the plot or to tweak the storytelling. The game needs that help much earlier.

On the whole I'd give it a solid 7.5. The game play is mostly fine to stellar depending on the circumstances. The graphics are the same. During some moments and scenes the game looks l truly awful, in others you wonder how they did that on home console. The story failings really fail the game and it's characters however. To a shocking degree for a Final Fantasy title. Here's hoping Final Fantasy XVI won't spend a decade in development hell, because it's abundantly clear that XV did.

Kinda funny how the level cap increase and the upcoming ch13 patch made me basically decide to drop my NG+ playthrough completely until those things are both out.

Here's hoping I can tackle the limited-time hunts I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

also, can confirm that the game's seams and flaws show a lot more on a new game plus playthrough

Do you get anything immediately with the season pass?
The Holiday Pass + stuff. Maybe some DLC too, otherwise can't think of anything but there's a lot of stuff that's just white noise in the inventory or I forgot how I got.

Still, that means you get... SOMETHING immediately for the short term.

HOOLY SHIT!! Are you kidding me?? I'm currently attempting to finish the
secret vault quests inside the dungeons
and for the past hour I've been running around Daurell trying to figure out how to get ontop of the scaffold to get where I wanna go. So I looked online. And the only way to advance up there is to WARP during a fight and wait for your team to kill the bad guys so you can crawl through the cave. How the hell did this idea get greenlit??

I swear, love the game, I do. But some of the design decisions in this game. JESUS.

I'm like 98% sure it wasn't greenlit. This game feels like most things were overlooked or just not tested enough in order to get the game out the door faster.

I love the game, but I really wish it was more complete feeling.

5 chapters in and loving it. Feels rough around the edges a bit, but it's a fantastic game. Exceeding my expectations.

My two biggest pet peeves:

- the sidequests aren't nearly as interesting as the main quest, they're really only good for upgrading your characters

- getting stuck two miles from your location, when it turns to night and Ignis decides he doesn't feel like driving any more :(

The eff?! You cant save during the

Cool concept but dont have the time to do it in one sitting.

So I'm on chapter 13 now, and it's not as bad as I'd heard but I think that's mainly because I've been doing it in pieces. It's genuinely tense and kind of creepy at times, too. When I left off,
I saved after running around the Foras demon while waiting for the elevator to open
- how much longer do I have left here? Or at least before I can play normally again?

I hate to keep whining, but this is so frustrating. I'm halfway through the Daurell vault and I'm fighting these fire/ice blob enemies that are invulnerable to our weapons. So I decide to use Ignis' Enhancement tech and they're still invulnerable???? I guess I have no choice but to leave this LONG dungeon and find magic now? Man this game is a test of patience...

To be fair, many FF games have dungeons with enemies impervious to weapons or magic or whatever. Are there no places in the dungeon with magic to draw from? If not, then yes...that's bad design.

Hey everyone, I usually don't look this up or ask for this type of help, but since the carnival is time-sensitive, here I am.

I'm at the very beginning of the game, so a lot of these prizes are foreign to me. Lures, reels, etc? Some of those have durability so can/should I get multiple? I imagine I want to get the decals, recipes, and the egg from the fireworks at least, but what else should I get? And of all the prizes that can obtainable normally, is it otherwise incredibly painful to grind them out in the main game? I wouldn't mind spending an hour or two collecting medals for the ores and paints if it would save me hours in the long run.

Thanks!

Is there a reliable way to get Ignis to libra more consistently?
If you use Wait Mode he seems to use it every time.

I would recommend to get multiple but only of the ones that can only be obtained within this DLC. All the other stuff you can guy in the main game.

If you're just starting out, the fishing rewards are probably going to be out of reach for you without at least the fishing DLC stuff (but even then, your fishing level is likely low, so it'll be tough). I would honestly just explore the area and at least get the Dream Egg, since we don't know if that'll eventually be something useful.

Wow, just saw this little nugget nestled away in a Game Informer interview with Hajime Tabata:

Several important events happen off-screen. What is the importance of having players imagine rather than witness some moments?

It was for players to experience the story through Noctis' eyes. The world and the events that Noctis sees are merely things that are seen through his eyes. We didn't want to create a comprehensive and perfectly balanced story in this game.

Holy shit at that response. According to Tabata, the narrative mess that we ended up with was intentional. Which I find very hard to believe as they have a bunch of scenes that don't involve Noctis directly.

I've actually been trying the fishing. I haven't gotten any of the A-D fish, but that's because none of them even try to bite. I haven't failed to catch a fish, but out of the 20 or so, none have been A-D. Do I need a specific lure?

I also got the chocobo race trophies. Those were pretty fun! I liked cutting corners in the second race, but the forced water parts were strange.

The DLC lure (Platinum Leviathan) will work for almost all of the fish there. There are some that will require different lures, though. Knife T. Tonberry, which you can get in chapter 3, is good for some, and there was one fish that required a different lure, but I was stupid and didn't change out my line, so I lost the lure and don't remember what it is. It's the same shape as Knife T. Tonberry but red.

Did you try to use a Armiger Weapon? They don't adhere to resistances.

You can also deal magic damage with Prompto's Gravisphere tech.

And people thought I was crazy for suggesting this.

Define "a bunch." Because the only scenes I remember that happened away from Noctis were
the forced Kingsglaive stuff in the beginning and the stuff with Luna and the guards in Altissia

I did all Vaults except one and never casted magic.

Keep using Prompto's Gravisphere attack - I think it takes 33% of their max HP each time.

So... I just got a Sturdy Helixhorn from a Spiracorn!

Been taking my time with the game and exploring everything in Chapter 3 and have yet to go into Lestallum to meet Iris. Picked up the "Untamed Wild Horses" Hunt requiring you to kill 7 Spiracorns.

I've been prepping for eventually doing the "Last of the Spiracorns" Hunt to get the Sturdy Helixhorn which apparently only drops from Duplicorns.

Was doing the Untamed Wild Horses hunt and decided to practice targeting horns and got two Sturdy Helixhorns! Did a double take and checked multiple times to make sure there wasn't some glitch or issue but I did indeed have the items needed to upgrade my Engine Blade to Ultima Blade!

Went over to Cid and he upgraded it with no issue!
