I think Raikiri has a cap on its damage bonus stat, it can't go higher than B- (0 familiarity) on Agility or Familiarity bonuses. I mean, I guess it makes sense but it's a shame since it's impossible to know these things before making an investment.
Thankfully Soul Matching to a higher + value is cheap so I can change swords whenever I want.
It's easy and you're at a perfectly fine level. I expected this level to be much worse than it was.

However... Change to Attack (Spirit) B doesn't increase the attack as much as a Sword's inherent C- for Skill (but it's very similar to say, a D+ for Strength)
Yeah I'm guessing max familiarity would result in A+ which would be really nice.
Yup, I'm using a katana right now that's change to heart A+. I have like 30 heart right now and get +3 still for each point I add.
Ah actually, for my post you quoted, I wrote/remembered that wrong. 0 Familiarity starts at C and ends up B- at 999.
I remember that when I was reforging it kept 999.

I really love how much Nioh lets you fuck with bosses. Just beat White Tiger but I had a complete scumbag magic loadout, used sloth + defense down and I had amirita on hit as a backup with living weapon, the boss died quickly and was basically in perma-slowmode.
Usually bosses are immune to that type of shit but I think it's a big plus here that you can get away with anything.

I believe it was done for NG+ (Diablo mode). Playing Co-op, stacking a bunch of debuffs on a boss and wrecking in a LV280 Twilight is fun. It's a completely different game, though.
I wonder if they should have made stuff like Sloth working be part of one of the Mystics, that way it would affect that mode only and not the main campaign. Or I dunno.

I think it's great that practically everything in the game is viable.

so if its CTA (body) C+ does that mean when i hit a enemies body i do more dmg?
No that's referring to the Body stat. So higher Body would increase the damage of that weapon.

kinda wish that there were an axe skill that allowed one to parry yokai attacks

the last one? Does New Game+ start automatically? Can I go back and rescue all the little fellas in normal mode after entering ng+? Can I help people in normal missions after joining ng+?

Yep. You can actually switch between NG and NG+ at any time in the map menu.

That's really weird. I don't recall ever being able to go back to NG after moving on to NG+ in a game before.
Well, I guess that sounds like selecting difficulty in Diablo, actually. Neat.

You are strong enough, you just need to learn how to fight him.
If you're using Katana use the midstance kick to drain his stamina. Let him flail to tire himself out. You can dodge his running slash by dodging towards him (he'll strike once you're in his range so you don't have to anticipate the swing) preferably in high stance as the roll has the most iframes.

Just wait until NG+ where he can do his OHKO laser with zero windup.
So far I haven't seen any, but I agree that all elemental weapons should have more visual effects than just the attacks.
I guess they made Raikiri special because of it's background description.

do you guys have boosted your luck? i have like 20 luck and while normal gear has become almost nonexistance to me i just get a shitload of yellow, a bunch of blue but SOL with purple gear and even when its purple gear it's just shit

That was probably the hardest fight for me in the entire game. Or one of them. I ended up just going low stance dodging around getting hits on the ghost lady until she eventually died. The Raven is super easy after the 15th time. The first time you see him in region two he kicked my ass over and over again.
Tried to play some For Honor and just wished it had Nioh combat! This game ruined Bloodborne for me too. Tried to go back to it and it just isn't as fun as Niohs combat.

I'll just leave it alone for now.. I wasted too much time as it stands. I wanted to beat him before leaving the region, but screw that noise.
The fact that he can kill you in two or three hits and we're not even talking NG+ here... I just find that fight total bullshit, especially for the first region of the game.

I'm in the guild that gives you +40 extra luck and have it as a bonus on both an accessory and a helm. I'm level 84 right now with +97 Luck according to the Special Effects tab. I get a decent amount of purples just from drops and anytime I see a revenant with all purple gear I usually get at least 1 or 2 purples from it. I got 4 purples from a revenant a few days ago lol.

Wait until you get to solo duel the real deal. Was a pain the ass to beat. Still think my most satisfying boss battle. I think I died to him more then anyone else. Minus Onryoki the first time since I didn't understand the combat system very well.
