Horizon Zero Dawn - Preview Thread [Up: All Previews Live]

I'm looking forward to reading a lot more about this game. Really wanna pick it up, but I'm already trying to scrape up enough money for a Switch as it is.

In any case, can't wait to eventually play it!

This game is one of my most internal struggles on whether I would like it or not. A part of me, well majority says no. But I keep having a glimmer of hope. So I'm going to say this straight up. I'm all about story with cool action sequences in between. I don't care about exploring the world, crafting or whatever else.

Will this game allow me to enjoy it in that way. Or will it push stuff on me I don't want to do. Thank you if you're able to answer.

Man just give it a try or not or wait for a sale. It's only $60(or less if you have a PrI'm or GCU membership). Sell it if you don't like it. I really don't understand why people have to be so reassured that they will like a game. Even great reviews doesn't guarantee that you will enjoy it.

Is this game worth playing on the standard PS4, or does it perform worse and look noticeably worse there?

All I've heard about this game is praising how fantastic it looks on the Pro, but I've not seen much of the normal PS4 version. I'm interested in it, but I don't want to play an obviously inferior version that feels like an after thought, if that makes sense.

Majority of videos released are on the standard PS4. There isn't much difference between the two, of course the pro version will have better IQ.

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.

Almost every video is standard ps4 if no pro in title

I think you are talking about farcry 3 , where have you seen "Nuclear" Sky in HZD.

Oh, OK. I've not really kept up with aside from I think it was a brief bit of the E3 gameplay were she was hunting this big tank like dinosaur thing that has lighting weapons of I remember correctly, and then videos of the Pro version during the Pro reveal.

That's cool then. I'll definitely get it then.

There goes the myth of the 20 hour game,

Was it the 4chan "leak"? lol

So give or take 50 hours to finish the main campaign sweet, what was he playing on, normal?

Well, tbf that does not necessarily mean that. He is reviewing the game, we tend to fuck around a lot with a game for a review (at least I do and know others that do too). Could be 54% overall too

Main campaign only could still be 20h ish, but clearly the game has content and some staying appeal which is even better news

I mean, 20 hours of main story for an open world RPG seems pretty sizeable to me actually. It only falls short if you take the crazy value proposition of the Witcher 3 as a standard instead of the typical length of an Elder scrolls campaign length for example.

25h /54% can perfectly mean he ahs finished the main story and he is missing side stuff.
True, it can also mean that he messed around a lot and that is why he has finished only 54% of the main story, or that the story is in fact very long. I personally think it is the former of my suggestions.

I would assume, that like in most open world games, that percentage includes the whole game, this means: main story progress + colelctibles + side quests+ bla bla bla

So the 54% would mean total completion of the game, in which case, as I said, it is entirely possible to have finished the story and not the side content with that percentage.

It is possible that he has not finished the main quest and has a 54% of total completion, but I would disregard that the 54% only means story progress as you imply, based on past experiences.

In any case, none of us know yet, so its all speculation.

I promised myself I would never avatar quote

You can avatar quote me every time you want. I already was avatar quoted many times because i said the combat looked boring to me.

I find it funny though that enjoying Witcher 3 and its lenghty campaign means i couldn't enjoy a less long game.

I think Horizon's story won't be its best part, so while in Witcher 3 it was mostly justified to have a great long main quest in Horizon it wouldn't feel right. That's why 25 hours to copmplete the game is good.

I don't think that its fair for you to say that it would feel stretched yet, since you still don't know how it plays out and how long it is.

We should wait before making that type of statements.
