Star Wars |OT| I have a very good feeling about this...

I just got to the episode of Clone Wars where
Boba Fett
shows up.

Ultimate troll move lol.

BTW, do the new Star Wars comics crossover a lot or is it ok to read all back issues of a title at once?

They reference each other here and there, but the only major crossover published so far is Vader Down, which consists of a one shot, Darth Vader #13-15 and Star Wars #13-14. There's another crossover coming later this year.

Ok, thanks - I started reading Darth Vader and he talks to the emperor about some caper Luke and Han pull off and I assumed it was referring to another comic, so I didn't know if I should be careful what order I'm reading in.

That is indeed a reference to the first arc in the main Star Wars, but you aren't really missing anything relevant plot wise by reading them straight through until Vader Down, although I do suggest catching up with both series before starting the cross over.

Anyone else surprised we haven't gotten a comic dealing with Ahsoka or the siege of Mandalore.

Speaking of Ahsoka, is there a reason she all but disappeared during season 2 of clone wars? I assume she'll be back but it's very noticeable given how much she was in season 1. Actress have a baby?

The series was initially conceived as an anthology series, with frequent jumps between protagonists. Things get a bit more stable as the series goes on, but expect arcs in which the "main" protagonists take a back seat here and there throughout the run.

If you weren't aware, there's a lot of jumping around in the timeline for the first two and a half seasons as well: http://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder

Is SIege if Mandelor a scrapped Episode or why is everyone talking about it all the time?

It would have been at the end of the series since it took place during Episode III. The Ahsoka novel touches on it a bit, but it's the last time Anakin and Ahsoka see each other since Anakin is called off to go rescue Palpatine. It also ties up the loose ends of the Darth Maul/Mandalore storyline.

When is the
Jar Jar interlude supposed to take place anyway? Kind of odd that he didn't just run off to marry the Bardottan queen...unless they all got purged by Palpatine.

Was getting caught part of your plan?
I think they should have done something cool with Jar Jar instead of taking the last opporturnity to trash him again.

I didn't see it as an opportunity to trash him yet again. Apparently the interlude implies that Jar Jar is really aware of what his actions in AOTC brought about and he's trying to make up for it to bring happiness to the most innocent people affected by the entire civil war. I think that's neat.

It also mentions, as kind of a fourth-wall nod, that kids love the shit out of him whereas the adults try to ignore him as much as possible.

This sounds better then the
jester
part alone. To make this clear, I am no fan of Jar Jar, but I accepted him for what he is and only cant stand his parts in Clone Wars without getting sick, but I cant stand anything fandom related to him anymore. Its fine when the real fans come together, but everytime for example the OT talks around him I just roll my eyes.
Would love to see him again in a cameo at some point! Was very bummed that the rumor of him appearing in the meeting in Rogue One turned out to be fake.

Read the above spoiler, I did see someone who read some of the empire ends spoilers speculate
that they seem to indicate that Finn may be Rae Sloanes son.

I could see that but I'm really surprised that
She didn't die or end up as the one signing the Galactic Concordance. I just don't see Sloane as a First Order type. She's about law and order, not ideological extremes.

I'm sure he'll turn out well.

I feel like
Sloane signing the Galactic Concordance was part of canon as early as around TFA's release, but I may be mis-remembering.

I've read the first 3 arcs of Marvel Darth Vader and it's a really weird but entertaining read. They try to make all these characters likeable but they are all pretty damn evil. Doctor Aphra is no Han Solo, she can be straight up sadistic.

Just wait until about, oh, half way through and you'll see how sadistic Aphra can get.

Poe #11 came out today. I think this series moves a bit too slow for its own good usually, but this issue was pretty fun since the elements of the arc are finally coming together. Terex's chat with Phasma was fun.

SO, what's the deal with the Rey love/hate? I can't ever get a reasonable explanation without people jumping down my throat. What makes her likable/dislike-able? She's got no personality outside of "I'm a hero who want help everyone". Doesn't help her actress gave a wooden performance imo. Finn should have been the hero.

Well considering a big part of her arc in TFA is her deciding whether to be a hero or stay living her shitty life because of her trust issues, it's hard to talk to someone who summarises it as unfairly as you have.

Hell, a big part of her appeal is people thinking Daisy Ridley's performance is the complete opposite of wooden. Her charm and wide-eyed sense of adventure put into the character is a wonderful breath of fresh air that connects to audiences the same way the OT cast did.

Plus there's also the fact that having such a good female character at the center of a massive franchise like Star Wars is kind of awesome from the get go.

Unfair? I'm giving my view on her. I'm welcome to different views.

Her entire arc isn't anything new. I mean what you described is every hero in a fantasy novel.

Really, she felt so wooden to me. Like Hayden Christensen wooden. I mean at least she wasn't as bad as he was but, still.

That's the only plus.

All I did was give the general reasons. Unless I misunderstood what you were asking, the basics are that a decent amount don't agree with you base opinions on the character/actor.

For them that is far from the only plus.

Seriously? Wooden is the last word I'd use to describe her. She's extremely enthousiastic, charming and shows emotion. To me she was the exact opposite of Hayden.

Rey's got a new hairstyle and possibly new clothes

Yeah it seems to be the same style, but I am seeing black, and she didn't wear black in TFA

Yes.

Let me post this close up of the characters on the new packaging so they're more easily visible...

Rey's got a new hairstyle and possibly new clothes, Finn's got a new shirt, and...Poe's helmet fits better?
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Finn's undershirt the one he wears at the end of TFA when Rey says goodbye?
