Street Fighter V |OTVII| New Generation - Connection To Haters Was Lost

I had this problem. There are a couple issues it might be, so I'd look it up first. For me, it ended up being the rubber foot beneath the eject button having expanded and triggering the capacitive touch button.

I removed the rubber foot altogether a week or so ago to see if it made a difference and no luck. I tightened the small manual eject screw (again) that everyone points towards as a possible cause, so I'll see if that makes a difference.

On topic, I can't believe it's been a year of SFV already.

Huh, apparently /r/streetfighter is basically /r/kappa now when it comes to hating SFV. Really goes to show how disappointed the overall community is when even the main sub on reddit is down on it.

They seemed okay a few days ago. what do you mean

My PS4 is developing issues with ejecting discs randomly and it's getting worse. Just now, seconds before a casual match begins it decides to spit it out. Fuck sake.

That's why I've gone digital with most of my games. I bought the steel book edition of SFV first, but as soon as it was heavily discounted on PSN I bought it and now thinking about selling the physical copy soon.

Full of threads and comments about how bad/boring SFV is, along with the usual Capcom complaints. Main reddit communities are usually overly positive, so I feel like it's kinda telling that even the main sub has seemingly turned on the game. It definitely didn't used to be this bad.

That's reddit for you lol. I put thier hyperbole on the scale of EventScrubs comments. This is why I prefer GAF, because at least we can hold a meaningful and intelligent conversation here without resorting to shit flinging all the time.

I would love to see an interview with the designer who made Balrog. Why they gave him this unreactable safe stuff and these several chances to do 400 damage combos from it. Such bad design.
Like, these rush punches are so far out of reach, I can't even pressure him after he does them.

Oh and turn punch is + on block lol

Sure, but going from hyperbolically positive to hyperbolically negative is still telling of an overall swing in perception by the community. I don't think people can say the community as a whole is happy with the game anymore like they did during S1.

sometimes all you can do is back up when that happens

or join in I guess

You want to interview a Peter "Combofiend" Rosas

Could it be because it's on the main page now?

The community would probably be more positive than the population overall. More people posting means more people shitposting. It's like when we have a thread on gaming-side and Kingbroly shows up. :p

I don't know, reddit for me has always been hit or miss and I don't actually think it's representative of the Street Fighter "community" as whole. I've seen mixed views on S2 just like I did with S1, and for obvious reasons, some people won't be happy due to thier characters being nerfed. Personally, I don't care what they think as the FGC community can be fickle most of the time and change thier opinion on a whim - just like they do on reddit every other day.

Oh, I forgot they got moved to the front page for some reason. I guess that could be it too.

Here's the best I could do with silhouette #5.

TI0XhCb.png

Given the scale of his head alone, he's absolutely fucking massive. I feel like the camera might pull back for whoever this character is. (For what it's worth, Abigail's CFN profile says that he's still growing.)

Ryce, what is your process for these?

Also, I'm still convinced theyre kicking/that isnt an arm on the right.

Woshige is the battle planner of SF 5.

Still no news on Ibuki's potato sack costume.

I just resize the various silhouettes for a single character and overlay them (they tend to match up perfectly), and then I try my best to cut the resulting silhouette out, which involves a degree of guesswork since enlarging an image makes it blurry. They're obviously not perfect, but I just like having them to get a general idea of what the characters will look like.

USF4 was great for the most part. The tournament scene got really boring during the last few months when Elena became so prevalent, but it at least ended with one of the best fighting game tournaments of all time with EVO 2015.

Did everything (save file, cfn account) transfer over ok when switching from disc version to digital?

Give me some tips against Balrog please. What do you do? Neutral don't help either.

Neutral jump randomly to beat dash punches. Don't do it predictably bc he has the anti-air one.

Block low much more when he gains v-trigger.

Don't let him get away *too much* with st. rh walk up st rh if you notice he goes for this a lot.

TAPs that are Level 2 or higher are + on block.

keep inside the lp dash punch but outside some key normals like cr. mp or cr. mk or sweep. mix it up with movements outside of his lp dash punch range.

It's a guessing game. this is S2 top tiers

I don't expect much out of SFV anymore. I would be thoroughly shocked if they made any major improvements. It's just gonna be titty costumes and 6 characters per season for the next however many years people decide to tolerate it for.

I really like it. And the sudden love of SF4 is so funny to me. Such hypocrisy.
Yeah I'll stick to my guns about SF4: I tolerated it at best and played it because characters I like eventually made it in and it dominated the scene. Most iterations of SF4 were a mess in one way or another, Ultra in particular felt like a complete amateur effort, and the focus attack system is one of the clumsiest most convoluted system mechanics in the series. I mostly dropped it entirely shortly after AE from both a player and viewer perspective because it got boring to watch and uninteresting to play.

SF5 has its numerous issues, but from the start I liked it way more than I ever did 4.
Aside from not havin' my bae Makoto.

Do everything in your power to get momentum and keep it. Once you start your pressure, don't ever let up. He doesn't have a good reversal and his 3f button is stubby so if you keep him at arm's length and just keep pounding away, he pretty much has to sit there and take it unless he chooses to spend some of his precious meter on a V-Reversal.

If he does manage to get in, crouch block until he stops pressing buttons. His only methods of circumventing crouch-blockers are his V-Skill overhead and grab, both of which he has to telegraph, so if the storm of fists ceases for a moment try to get in a few jabs to stuff his options and keep him honest.

It's definitely an uphill battle for most characters, but it's not impossible if you can keep from getting flustered. He's pretty susceptible to neutral jumps if he's playing stupid too, so use that to your advantage to sneak in some big hits.

We know the game is hitting the arcade scene in Japan, that's the only thing I'm looking forward honestly, and maybe new story mode to include the new characters.

Learn a jab punish combo for blocked rush punches. Don't let him jump in for free. Block low as much as you can (to prevent yolo ex low rush and his low target combo) and learn to react stand to his overhead v-skill. Don't cede pressure if you get him knocked down; he has no true reversal.

The fact that they caved into another patch, however minimal, at least shows me that they want to keep this shit going. I don't expect more v-shit until the end of the year, but that's fine - let the meta breath and squeeze all you can outta this game.

I think my favorite version was still SSFV 2012

Ok, thanks a lot for the tips, I will try to implement them. The jab punish for rush punches seems kind of useless, though. He has to really misplace them to be in range. And Karin actually has her great st.lk with more range than most punishes.

I think LI Joe confirmed yesterday that EX Frost Touch does 240 damage and 300 stun.

I wonder if the EX version is a catch-all or if you still have to do different button inputs to get the low/mid/high EX counter. If it does counter anything, do you think that it or EX dash will be her go-to wakeup option?

Kolin has the same l/m/h counter hisako did in KI? Think I'm gonna main her. Hisako got me into Killer league with that gimmick.

gonna miss hisako's boss ass normals tho
