I've wanted a Culdcept game in the U.S. (that isn't as rare/expensive as the 360 release) for years! Hope this one is good.

well i sure as hell didn't expect a localization, but i also didn't really consider the possibility of someone else taking it from nintendo. very happy to see this!

looking forward to playing with more folks~

Changed to reflect my first impression.

Though she's from Capcom originally as I recall.

Yeah she did a lot of Capcom artwork also.

With the character designs aside, the game itself is fairly solid though some changes made things a bit easier than previous games. Though overall if you like magic the gathering + monopoly you should be in for a good time. Even more so if you were a starved western culdcept fan lol

She's been around long enough to have been one of the artists for the original release of Street Fighter 2. She's probably better known for being the main illustrator for the CvS series, but her credentials run long and deep.

Holy crap, yes, yes yes.

This could be another one of those years where the 3DS looks dead only to end up with a fantastic lineup anyway.

I bough it imported with artbook at launch and have been using a google doc of its translation to play till now FUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEES!

You guys dont even know man. I'm over 1300 screenshots in on dialogue from the story mode compiling this game into a file to be translated by fans thinking that it wasn't gonna happen and its baaaaaaaaaaaaack! OMG YES!

Wow this is a very pleasant surprise. Never thought this would come to the west. Thanks NIS for picking up Nintendo's slack

From the announcement stream, they made it sound like that Nintendo was working with them on this. Not a surprise, since they supervise anything that they originally published, but I imagine that with the Switch launch prep and all of the other 3DS games they've had to work on, there really wasn't any way for them to fit this on their docket. Great news to see them back to licensing out when necessary.

Too bad there won't be a Switch port. I'm just happy it's coming, period though. Although I hope the sales of Revolt encourages the production of a new game on the Switch. Playing Culdcept on the go and then finishing at home on the TV actually makes sense.

FUCK YES IT IS!
I've been playing and its amazing. Larger hands, more dice per roll, areas on the board that take from players but can turn into a lotto of mana for the next guy, new cards, cards that can be evolved and customized in stats, and soooooooo much more. Plus the cast has a dude that looks like Clint Fucking Eastwood to play against.

Its soooooooooooooo good. Plus you have PERMANENT TELEGNOSIS AND FAIRY LIGHT! You can always use territory commands and you gain mana per turn and you can win by hitting any goal instead of the main one. Its sooooooooooo gooooooooood!

They changed some of the traditional rules.

I kinda call it Culdcept lite due to that... But still for those who enjoy the game regardless and seeing how its been a while since one was out in the West am sure you would have a good time.

Plus what shaowebb says above.

Never played a Culdcepr game. Is it like Magic fhe Gathering??

Magic the Gathering meets Monopoly. Goal is a monetary amount though...not trying to bankrupt others.

You go around a board, and instead of putting houses on land you put cards. Folks can either pay a toll when landing their or play a card to battle you and equip up to one card before the battle starts. You get stat bonuses for leveling the land which in turn up the toll. You also get higher tolls for having multiple creatures on the same color of land. You can also before the roll phase cast spells to attack or place conditions on cards on the board.

Its incredibly good. Plus the mana you gain in tolls, laps, and by hitting checkpoints on the board is also the cost for your cards and what you pay to level up land. Game is legit amazing and matches last long enough you can play your decks full potential instead of maybe sometimes seeing your deck options like in magic or other faster games.

Does the game has a main story or some sort?

YES. And it is HUGE. I am so happy to finally know whats goin on. Its like an RPG story every game. You play through matches on different boards with a cast of characters whose decks change throughout the story.

My god folks you have no idea how happy I am right now.
I have been playing every title in this series since saga for nearly 15 years on handhelds with a card translation up in front of me. I was literally buying import consoles and ds/3ds titles to do so. I was scouring instructions and fans online to find out how to get all the DLC from the series before it ended. I memorized over two thirds of the cards in a massive card game just to make playing these japanese games easier. I made an OT for it. I own multiple copies of Saga just to pass out to hopeful new players I meet who show interest. I have a mural setup for the titles I own its series in my house. I own all the artbooks. I have a japanese store display framed and hanging in my house. I own actual decks of the cards. I memorized the menus that were in japanese to navigate the titles I imported.

This is so incredible for me right now. You have no idea. A new online capable Culdcept I can finally play in my native language with people in my own country online so I dont have to be up at odd hours to play due to time zone problems.

Thank you NISA. Thank you so much.

Did the Canadian dollar just take a sudden sharp drop off a cliff in the past hour or is NISA just trying to rob us?

Canadian dollar is $0.75US. Plus with our high taxes, 3DS games are mad expensive. Thank god for GCU to make games slightly cheaper in USA after CDN dollar conversion
