I am playing through it now despite knowing about the ending.
I am enjoying every bit of it. Just got done with the leviathan dlc. I say go for it especially for the extended ending.

I played Nier... well, I played A Nier. Wasnt Nier the weird ass game that on one system you played as the dude and on another system you played as the lady and they were different games?

Tried different USB ports? I had an issue with my 360 controller ages ago not being recognised. I ended-up uninstalling everything related to the controller, plugging it into a different port, and reinstalling all the driver. It worked fine after that.
And there is no 'a' in doomed and that's why DOOM is a better game than any Anime game.
This was only the case in Japan. PS3 got young brother Nier and Xbox got old papa Nier.
In the west we got old papa Nier on both platforms.
That's also the only thing that's different between these two versions.

I don't remember if it was mentioned here (heck, I could have even said it) but Total Warhammer won Sega's Make War Not Love campaign, which means that on Feb 28th, Isabella von Carstein is going to be added to the game for free. She's a Legendary Lord for the Vampire Counts, and will give that faction their first alternate start, in Schwartzhafen. She will have special bonuses alongside her husband (and fellow Legendary Lord) Vlad von Carstein.
And yeah, she drops the same time as the Bretonnia free faction.

It's likely next up* on my list. Looks fantastic.
It was already at the top of my VN Wishlist, but I jumped on Clannad first because of the deep discount (lowest price on Steam to date) and impeccable 'Essential Reading' reputation.

I like that Focus "hid" the release date by not updating it. If you browse Steam's list of new releases and go back to December, you'll see the game listed.
That whole Horizon review thread thing is about as silly as you might expect. Why can't people just be happy that the game is rating well? That one post about echochamber is especially amusing, considering.
Looking forward to Crash review thread (assuming it rates well) so people can search and quote my dislike of the entire franchise (excluding CTR) and interpret it as some kind of platform wars bullshit.
And yeah the last couple of hours or whatever are garbage. The extended ending massaged the ending a bit but didn't really change what the big problem was. So basically the big plot conclusion is poopoo but the smaller stories and character arcs are worth seeing to the end. Assuming you care about any of the crew.

It is worth playing. There are great moments still littered throughout that game, lots of great character story conclusions (but also a lot of really weak conclusions to some story bits that I felt deserved more).

It's kind of crazy how much content in Dragon's Dogma is just completely missable in a playthrough. Like, mostly everything that isn't a bounty or a main quest can be auto-failed/blocked if you don't circle around the map after each quest to check for stuff to do. I think I'd enjoy the game a lot less if I wasn't referencing the Wiki periodically

I'd say it's worth playing to at least make up your own opinion. There's plenty of people who loved the game, flaws and all, and didn't mind the ending. You could be one of those lucky ones. Mind you, this is what I personally try to do with any "mixed reaction" creative work I'm even remotely interested in, your habits may be different.
Nice, I'll finally be able to invade people fighting against the Mirror Knight again.

It's kind of shocking how much Deep Silver is missing the mark with Saint's Row. First Gat Out of Hell, and now this.

I get the impression they had much larger ambitions that got pared down a lot to make it to release. The affection system is a big example of this on top of the weird way the progression works.
I really wish they made a direct sequel to it, there's such a good foundation there.
You can. And you will be roffled by my army of summons which is what happens every time I do that boss, and then I laugh.

I dislike most areas and bosses in the game, which is basically all the reason I play these games since I don't PvP
A lot of it is either awfully bland or annoying
I do like some of the mechanics possibly more than the first but the meat of the game is just not there for me

*throws you into massive, explorable, interactive environment that is rich with resources, information, and chances to practice various skills*
*nags you on comms to get to the next mission when you dawdle*

It made me think perhaps what I really want is something even less mission based and more open like Zelda, but BotW will probably have some stupid fairy or sword or spirit person nagging you. Maybe I need Dark Souls 3...

Dark Souls 3 has a Estus goblin constantly telling you which boss will kill you next tho.

Yea, it makes it feel a lot more linear actually if you want to do side content at all, because you HAVE to do a ton of stuff in specific orders, AND you may have had to do a quest only available as a side quest 2 towns over before you completed your previous main story quest.
The affection system is also screwy for sure. Doesn't have much of an impact on gameplay but does affect the RPG-ness of the game I suppose.
The story makes no sense, the gameplay is extremely repetitive. The game isn't very intuitive at all. I'm kind of addicted to it.
That was fun in Human Revolution: If you wait on the first mission to actually go to the helipad, people die. Though, the game is telling you that a hostage situation is going on, so you probably shouldn't take half an hour to break into every single office (which I did anyway).
I got afraid that I would fail something and someone would die
just like the first game if you hang around the offices where you work

I don't really remember Mankind Divided being too bad with that stuff, or maybe X-Com 2 completely made me forget about that, because I can't even finish a single research project in that game without it going THIS IS A VITAL MISSION YOU COULD LOSE THE GAME ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO IGNORE IT.
Off Topic: Ryse has some of the best voice work for villains, the two sons are some of the most sleazy guys you could find, it's a shame that the story devolves into a Gladiator rip-off near the end.
