PlayStation Ireland clarifies tweet: ''N. Sane Trilogy will be coming to PS4 first''

Perfect for Switch. Not too graphically demanding and the right audience.

It would be funny if it outsold the PS4 version.

That would be a monumental failure on the PS community who've been clamouring for this game for the better part of 10 years.

It'll sell really good on PS and Switch though.

I loved Crash Bandicoot at the time of PlayStation and I'd love the idea to play again the full trilogy on my Xbox One.

I hope it becomes a reality!

No need to hope, it'll happen.
I imagine you'll be playing Crash on XB1 the month after release on PS4.

PC's fine I guess, but I hope this doesn't come to Xbox/Nintendo.

These particular games are so integral to PS' history that it'd be a terrible look for the brand if they were playable on competitor consoles. Same reason I'd prefer not to see Gears come to PlayStation (back when Epic owned the rights & that was totally possible).

People are openly hoping this stays exclusive to Playstation 4?

FFXIII all over again. LOL.
Plus the mental gymnastics being performed to justify that Sony is being intentionally misleading.

SonyGAF never fails to amuse.
Activision just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about American culture (I'm an expert), but patriotism and loyalty are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in Europe where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in America, you bring shame to your country, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the american public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Crash Bandicoot for either system, nor will they purchase any of Activision's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Activision has alienated an entire market with this move.

Activision, publicly apologize and cancel Crash Bandicoot for PC or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I can't see it selling more than ps4 immediately given it's a new console, but wait until after christmas and check again later next year.
I'm struggling to think of a more suited title than the fist 3 crash bandicoot games on a nintendo platform, the audience is a perfect match so i do think that down the line the switch version would do incredibly well.
The characters and controls are simple enough and the design is very appealing to a younger audience alongside older fans of the series so i'm hoping it sells well across all 3 platforms.

Imagine you are a Sony fanboy who wants Nintendo to die and Mario, mascot of Nintendo consoles, to appear on Playstation console

But in reality Crash, (former) mascot of Playstation, is appearing on (maybe)Nintendo's console instead

I know Crash was Playstation's mascot but he's not remotely close to the level of importance as Mario is. Also, the majority of Crash fans feel the franchise quality tanked hard the minute it left Naughty Dog so its importance has been basically non-existent. There's a reason people were wanting that sign layout in that PS4 commercial to mean Sony acquired the rights to Crash, so they could actually make a new game with the quality the Naughty Dog titles had back then and still do to this day.

Hell, the last Crash Bandicoot game was released in 2008 and it was garbage. It says a lot whenever Crash is brought up it's always about the original trilogy. Vicarious Visions will either do Crash justice for the first time in a decade or bury Crash once and for all if they screw it up. I don't expect the game to sell insane numbers at all but I hope it's an actual worthwhile product. As for the importance on Switch and Xbox One? I don't see it doing anything, especially if it's a holiday release for them. Hell, it's releasing at the proper time for PS4 because it's not clashing with anything major. Switch has a new Mario game releasing this holiday season so Crash is doa there, and with Scorpio releasing, nobody is going to give 2 shits about Crash either.

Lmao, I knew it. I bet half the people saying it was "obvious" I'd be an exclusive probably didn't even know Crash doesn't belong to Sony. If it truly was an exclusive they'd have been boasting about it from the beginning.

Not mad tho, the more people can enjoy it the better. I hope the Switch can handle this.

Look at the dates compared to last years skylanders crash bandicoot exclusivity with sony.
This year will be exactly the same.
Sony first then nintendo/xbox 3-4 months later.
Activision would be insane to pass up the holidays, unless sony gave them a lot of money but if it was a big timed exlusive, like a year, then sony would come out and say so.
but just like last year activision waited and then told everyone skylanders crash would be on xbox and nintendo a few months later.

I agree that a short window makes more sense, but given the franchise's roots on Playstation, I don't think it would be unreasonable to suggest that Sony would have paid the price for a longer window.

So does this mean the Crash Amiibo is not exclusive anymore?

There is no amiibo, If you mean this...
crash-bandicoot-Skylanders-figure-831x1024.jpg
Then it was never an exclusive, only a timed exclusive that came to wii u and xbox a few months later.

I agree that a short window makes more sense, but given the franchise's roots on Playstation, I don't think it would be unreasonable to suggest that Sony would have paid the price for a longer window.
If true then they would come out and say so, and activision would ask for a small fortune from sony to pass up holiday sales given the skylanders audience at christmas and the fact they just recently put crash in that game mainly as an early advert for this trilogy.

Those franchise roots are long gone, if sony really had the confidence then not only would he not have appeared recently in skylanders on nintendo and xbox but they would be waving a huge flag proclaiming not only is crash back, but he is once again a sony exclusive.

We will see.
The install base for PS4 is just so much larger and imo I don't think Nintendo gamers particularly care about Crash as an IP as much as the rabid PS guys who've been willing a Crash collection into existence.

Anyway, I can't wait to play this during summer!

Agree with this 100%.
There is no shame in saying it's an exclusive until the holidays.
By not parading that fact they are simply doing nintendo and microsoft a big favour.

But on the flipside there is still shame for letting activision get hold of the license in the first place, plus it changes that sign they had in the ps4 trailer.

It now should be out of the trash and on a 3 signal traffic light with sony, nintendo and microsoft lights.

What shame? Crash has never been Sony's IP to lose.

While I'm sure PS4 will be the best selling version I can really see a hypothetical Switch version selling well. Sonic games sell well on Nintendo hardware despite Sonic being the "rival" mascot to Nintendo in the 90s.

Wouldn't make any sense considering the Skylanders cross-over. Is Skylanders even on PC?

The first game got a PC release but that's it.

Crash multiplat? It's strange, but I'm happy if it is good and more people can play it!
It's not that kind of game where exclusivity can make it better.

They believe Crash is in the same league, or a league above Mario. They sealed themselves up in a bubble after the series went multiplatforms and don't care about the series unless its PS exclusive again.

Cool, everyone should get to buy dem masterpieces if they want. Portable version with Switch would definately be neat but I fear they probably will just put it on XBO/PC and call it a day.

I think a Switch port is really safe, simply due to the demographics on the Switch being very friendly towards platformers. It also helps that Vicarious Visions has a long history with Nintendo hardware, so Activision wouldn't need to go out of their way to make a port happen.

So they purposely put crash into skylanders a few months ago on the wiiu to advertise him to a new generation of young nintendo gamers and then when the new crash game comes out they don't put it on switch?
You do realise that the people making this trilogy have made exclusive crash bandicoot games for nintendo before on the gameboy advance.
If any other platform is a given then it's nintendo so i don't think you have to fear, activision are not that crazy.

Interesting. I'm still going to pick this up on PS4 obviously, but if a Switch version happens I will double dip.

I don't think selling better on Switch would necessarily be a failure on the part of the PS community considering it could still sell several million on PS4 while being outsold on Switch long term. Were Crash to come to Switch it's the perfect game for the Nintendo audience both in artstyle and genre. I think it would do very, very well on Switch just like the Lego games and Sonic racing did well on Wii U despite it's limited install base.

If it means more mainline sequels to Crash then we should all be hoping it comes to PS4,Xbox One,Switch,Vita and PC so that it generates the most attention and potential sales possible.

These were good? I've had my eye on them for a while but mixed reviews had me holding off.

No idea about the Crash game but the Spyro game is a minigame collection. And also there's a boss battle against Crash where they throw molotovs at each other.

Anyone expecting Activision to release a game that is exclusive to some console is fooling themselves. Even console premiere on PS4 is a big surprise.

Crash was multiplatform for 10 years and only exclusive to Playstation hardware for 4, but you still get posts like this.

People are out of touch. I too played Crash first on PS, but it was never there the majority of its existence.

Crash has appeared on nearly EVERY SINGLE console since the PS1, lol.

Twinsanity was really good, and so were the GBA games. Mind over Mutant and Titans weren't bad either.

Yet, there was always this idea that the post-Naughty Dog games were all disasters. The first one maybe, and it was because they basically took the ND games and put them on bigger more open areas.

Hopefully people will play this ones, instead of avoiding them because of no Naughty Dog.

Twinsanity was okay, but it suffered heavily from very rushed development.

Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart were all sorts of pretty bad, though. They both felt extremely soulless. Never tried Radical games.

Crash is very similar to Sonic in some ways.

Best games in the series were the original trilogies
and knuckles

Both were console mascots and now multiplats

And now the best thing to happen to both series is revisiting the original formula. Remaster and mania.

GOOD. i own the original games on ps1 still to this day, but i also own a PC and Xbox One, so i want to be able to play the remastered. im sure theres plenty of people in my position so this is not a bad thing at all.

Not like Sega had much of a choice when they could no longer afford to make their own consoles anymore.
