Todd Howard "can't say" whether Skyrim Switch is the original or enhanced edition

Which industry personality is most deserving of the benefit of the doubt with PR?

I'm guessing/assuming it's the Special Edition, just with some reduced effects. The Switch could pull off something like that pretty easily.

Real question is, will it support mods?

If it has worse graphics and no mods is it even the special edition at that point?

Their job postings list it as something that sounds just like their last few games (FPS, open and/or hub-based world, UE4, narrative focus, maybe some multiplayer).
I thought Irrational laid off the vast majority of their staff? I'd be surprised if its as big budget as Bioshock.

Wasn't there a rumor that it'd have mod support on the level of the PS4 (so not total control mods like the XB1)?

Or was that proven untrue?

Fear of negative reactions that kill hype potential. That's all I can think of. Which makes me expect disappointment.

I mean there isn't enough games on the roster.

Unless it's an actual gimped version with no dragons or some shit people are pretty much going to buy it.

Wasn't there some comparison footage of the Switch version vs. other versions and it was the Special Edition with some adjustments?

...I literally don't know what to think because

1)Nintendo's NDAs are ridiculous
WE CANNOT CONFIRM THIS GAME IS REAL
2)Bethesda isn't exactly the first name I think of when it comes to competent developers

So it's realistically not going to be the remastered version. Fine. But is it because the system is too weak, or cause Bethesda gonna Bethesda, or Nintendo has been a mediocre partner throughout this ordeal?

My guess is that it's some sort of Switch Exclusive version, that may have a couple extras, including all the enhanced Edition content. Otherwise, this doesn't make sense.

Either this, or they honestly don't know what it will be yet. It's possible, that they want to get further along in development, to confirm that the game will be intact in all facets, before proclaiming what will or won't be in the port yet.

He can certainly answer a very basic question like that. A non-answer like that never turns out good so you know what it is. Kind of like DQ Heroes on Switch i'm not expecting straight PS4/XBO ports, people expecting that have not been paying attention or are willfully being ignorant and naive to feign outrage at every Switch game reveal.

It'll be a hybrid as most people said with some HD reworkings but not the full on special edition

They'll probably add some bonus stuff like Link's Master Sword or a Link Bow or some sort of Nintendo themed items in the game

Like a Mario Bros Hat or something lol

The last time we got a non-answer on the subject of Skyrim on Switch, Skyrim turned out to in fact be coming to Nintendo Switch.

More probably, the answer is that it's somewhere in the middle, with some of the changes from the enhanced edition but some additional changes + tweaks to make the game work well on the Switch hardware.

I'm not going to guess which version it is but he could've handle that better.

He could've said "because of agreements we're not ready to talk about that right now" or "hey, we're saving the details for E3 or for Nintendo to spill the beans."

Because the Switch can't handle the full fledged Enhanced Edition hardware wise. It will be somewhere in between.

This clearly means it's the original or they'll try to save face by saying it's "custom" which will just mean one or two things were hastily slapped on but "improved" from the original. The answer couldn't be more crystal clear.

Watch it turn out to be a downgraded version of the original.
