"Hitler style hair"?

Was that an article or a blog? Even then... that's embarassing.

The WSJ stuff is embarassing...

Yep, but it's funny because you have people from either side ignoring whoever they're defending.

It should be "Hey, you both fucked up, you both should apologize" because PDP basically gave a "Sorry you were offended" apology and WSJ hasn't said squat.

Started watching some of his videos thanks to the people calling him out in this thread. Seeing a lot of mentions of the "regressive left" and gamergate. Yikes.

PDP reallly gunning to replace Milo at Breitbart isnt he.

See, this is the stuff that needs to stop from the left. Do you honestly believe the PDP is in any way like Milo? If you want to talk about "normalizing" the alt-right and some of its views, then comparing PDP to Milo is doing just that.

Looks like Pewdiepie has decided that the best defense is offense. Don't agree with it, he should just really own that it was a bad joke and move on.

Not that I care about PDP's future business deals, but if you're a writer and you write some dumb shit like that then you should be laughed at in the aftermath. The Vox article with the glasses and haircut shit is fucking terrible.

maybe if

- PDP made a genuine apology video
- WSJ, JK rowling and Vox wouldn't trip over themselves to label him a nazi

everyone could have moved on with their lives

wait, maybe I'm missing something, but are really comparing a unfunny but pretty innocent tweet about fried food at Chanukah to the stuff in those pewdiepie videos?

This seems real flawed, guys.

It looks like he linked to Sargon because he had made a very good video defending him. Doesn't mean he shares the same views on everything I don't think. Not too familiar with Sargon's content (only saw his video in defense of PDP) so I don't know much about his normal content or beliefs.

Thanking sargon of akkad is a death sentence IMO for PDP's credibility. He's an alt righter who loves trump.

PewDiePie engaging in dangerous rhetoric as he doubles down and starts linking to shitstain fuckwit wastes of human life like Sargon of fucking Akkad and making this not about his inability to take responsibility for his actions and instead a persecution complex to gather his fans around is 100x worse than literally anything the WSJ has published about him.

The man is going straight into super dangerous territory here. Just look at Jacksepticeye's intelligent and well-reasoned video and how he had to fucking back-peddle in a gross and disgusting manner because he "didn't defend Felix enough" and got comments out the ass calling him a backstabber.

Look at this fucking disgusting behavior in people he has direct impact and influence over.

Not like PDP was some bastion of intellectual rigor prior to this. He's a dude who yells "rape!" while streaming himself playing videos on the internet. This is all just reaching its inevitable conclusion.

I don't really understand what's going on? Am I supposed to sympathize with someone who's shitty "jokes" had dire consequences for him? Just because "the media" has it out for him, even if some of them are hypocritical, doesn't mean he didn't do what he did, or that he shouldn't suffer for it? Why exactly are people defending him, especially when he's turning to certified pieces of shit for mutual support and validation?

The thing Vox did trying to link PDP to Himmler due to the style of glasses he wears was dumb and really, really reaching. If you're going to stretch that far to label PDP a Nazi, I don't blame PDP for going scorched earth.

And yeah, he does have a point with the glasses and hair segment of the video. That's pretty stupid.

He is pretty ignorant if he doesn't realize that initial headline is correct right now. The internet shitheads of the world are CREAMING themselves right now over him. He might not want their adoration, but he has it.

I'm 100% sure he thanked Sargon of Akhad just to see if media will see only this part and will write only about this. I mean a lot of people supported him (including h3h3 etc) but there is a reason why he chose this channel. He'll probably delete the link after news websites report about his video.

The only earth he's scorching is the earth he's standing on.

What does it matter? If the guy who attacked you is an asshole, shouldn't that make it easier to not generalize 'the media'. Also, PDP's controversial content is not any less distasteful if the guy pointing it out is an asshat.

Shouldn't PDP be more focused on not doing this instead of focusing on how 'stupid' people like JK Rowling and WSJ guy are for 'attacking' him?

Again:

PDP is losing goodwill fast and he's quickly becoming rather intolerable about this whole thing. And I actually really liked the guy!

Pews, take a deep breath, hire a PR manager, get someone to manage your production, and make fun shows instead of doing this stuff. Grow with your platform.

Also a bit funny how he now calls that previous video an "apology video" while giving the middle finger to the outlet that called you out.

So he literally says "it wasn't a problem until it was brought up". So he still doesn't know why it was a problem.

I agree this is what he has to do. He's now linking to content that he wouldn't like to associate with.

Thanking sargon of akkad is a death sentence IMO for PDP's credibility. He's an alt righter who loves trump.

Sargon is an absolute cunt but I have to ask, if you were falling from a building and an alt righter who support trump extended his hands to save you would you refuse and plunge to your death?

The reason why I asked this is that shitty people are capable for making good points and doing good things regardless of how shitty they are.

Edit: Another is why do people seem to take cunts like Milo and Sargon seriously and not see that they are just pondering for the money they make from their shticks is it the british accent that's tricking people?

Because he's right in a lot of ways and makes a lot of good points about the WSJ?

But nah, he took one dark joke too far, hope his career burns am I right?

yeah, those tweets don't seem remotely as offensive as the stuff PDP is in trouble for. Tacky yeah. The third one needs context to tell if it's egregious or not.

PDP really ought to hire a PR crisis manager and stop digging a deeper hole. Lord knows he can afford one.

Because this is a hipocritical witch hunt from the WSJ. Of course, if you had watched the video, you'd know that.

Yes, the Sargon of whatever link has me thinking.

This reminds me of the recent Polygon piece about how YouTubers are way to unfiltered and solo. They need another set of eyes to look over this stuff.

This is a really terrible analogy. If the only person defending me was Sargon, I'd retire from public life.

What are some of talking about when you say that the WSJ is actively trying to ruin PDP's career? Was the one article that pointed out his history of making anti-Semitic jokes too much or have they made a dozen editorials calling for his head since the last time I read up on this story?

Seriously, it's absolutely nuts how PDP and his defenders have twisted the entire narrative of WSJ reporting on his videos as it being an attack at his livelihood and not the consequence of being an untalented hack who relies on making edgy jokes.

Just watched twitter explode. Ben Fritz is having a hard day. Reporting on Disney while being married to an employee as well, that is a rough combination.

Good video and nicely timed for the weekend, so it will be difficult for WSJ to respond and put out this fire. This will burn all weekend long I presume.

I liked how he used the Daily Stormer as an argument in his favor. Dude doesn't have a clue.
I'm afraid that the Pewdiepie show will turn from a diet racism kind of dudebro white guy thing into a full blown alt-right show with the kind of people he is associating with.
