Seems to be this way for security. The problem is they don't have cloud backup at launch which is ridiculous.

Welp according to Amazon my Switch is on the way together with Bomberman R.
I am a bit annoyed I never went with the Neon as it looked awful in the promo shots but they look nice in photos in real life.
Nintendo consoles are too difficult for me to turn down since the Wii. I've always been a Sega fan boy then Playstation. Was only when I started working I was able to get other consoles and since the PS2/Xbox era I have always had each console.
Nintendo are the only ones who seem to give a damn about local multiplayer, give a damn about children. I hope the console is well supported, it will be the first one my daughter will play when she is a bit older (4 in May).

Super excited, now I'm just waiting for the midnight launch at Best Buy. Got my Switch, Zelda Master Edition and Pro Controller all ready for pickup tonight. Just less than 10 hours to go.

My Switch just shipped and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow. I am amazed at how fast stuff ships. I can still remember the old days of 2 to 4 weeks shipping.

So uh, I must've got an especially defective unit or something. Not only does it refuse to charge (and I've tried multiple times) but the left joycon refuses to stay latched in.

It supports 5Ghz. I personally get between 50Mbps down / 10Mbps up via the connection test looks like.

Anyone played that Fast RMX game at all? Never heard of it until a few hours ago. Looks like Wipeout sort of. The footage I saw didn't look terrible, but if Nintendo isn't calling it F-Zero Switch then it must have some issues. I haven't seen a single review/preview on it.

I'm almost positive you can, saw a few posts from earlier that said you could. Haven't verified it myself though.
In UK, just changed my delivery day with DPD to Sunday when I know I'll be in so there won't be a fuck up and it's left on my doorstep or with a neighbour who steals it (possible in my flat, lol). Sad times I'll have to wait, but at least there shouldn't be any complications. I'm working all day tomorrow and Saturday morning anyway so it's not much of a loss. Got all week off next week to enjoy it!

Weird thing is though, after lusting for the Neon for months, I'm having a last-minute Grey urge. Just the one shade, mind.

So how the Joy-Cons actually connect (in terms of communication and power) directly to the tablet? I was watching DF's video earlier, and for the life of me I couldn't see any kind of connectors or electrodes on either the controllers or the tablet.. it was just the slot. Are they that hidden, or am I just blind? I'll take a closer look tomorrow, of course, I'm just curious.
