Horizon Zero Dawn |OT| The Land After Time

Nope, really shit stuff actually.
All green and blue materials, it makes no sense since by the time you are done with these collectibles you would have been playing endgame stuff meaning you would probably have the purple version of the same mods making the rewards worthless.

Yep you should really get better rewards for doing that stuff .

I'm glad to know collectibles are bad. I'll skip these then. My main focus is on getting all Blazing Suns in all Hunters Lodge Trials. Then I'll do story until I get to the point where I can get my hands on that super armor. Complete all the side quests and errands. Then complete story.

The thing with the lip sync, and i'm not sure if it was animated by hand, but as there are some scenes that are bang on and some that are not ..i imagine the ones that aint had dialogue changed throughout development....

That's why I don't get this game being awarded 10/10 by so many. The characters lack charm across the board. Some humorous quests would have helped too.

But this is after all a game from the Killzone guys. Massive improvement. Maybe I'll love their next game more.

But that gfx and photo mode. Jeez!

That is because some reviewers don't rate the game on how it looks, but how fun and great it plays. Fancy graphics and dialogue alone can't save an otherwise mediocre controlled game.

After hours and hours I finally saw a
behemoth
and not only there were two of them, but two
longlegs
helping them?

Well that sucks. I hope there is another spot without the annoying assholes

I've been turning off quest and just checking the map. Helps me learn where places are so I don't need it later. Did the same thing in red dead. Only issue is I bought the maps that tell you where things are. Kinda kills the fun of exploration

MASSIVE SPOILERS

So maybe I missed something, but what was the bunker that Aloy fell into as a child actually for? The scientists of the Zero Dawn project knew that they were not going to survive, but if you read Director Evan's final note, it seemed like she genuinely believed survival was possible until things turned to absolute shit. Was that bunker part of Zero Dawn? Or did it serve some other purpose?

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Please, I'm like 7 hours in. Does the story and presentation get any worse? I'm loving it so much right now and don't ever want it to dip!

Mediocre controlled game ?

We must not be playing the same game. Aloy controls like a dream, and personally I think there are plenty of funny dialogues (on the snarky side) and interesting characters... #shrug

The only score that is puzzling imo is that 5/10, but again she is entitled to her opinion.

I think you agree with him.
Gameplay is great. And smooth

I haven't fired this game up yet. Just received a Pro and KS8000 (KS7000 in UK) today. Excited to give it a try.

I fired it up for the first time last night and was straight up blown away. I was blown away by UC4 but this... this is something else.

Edit: fellow Samsung KS8000 (KS7000UK) owner. LOVE IT

Erm the controls and gameplay loop of this game are two of the best thing about this game. There is a reason that despite this being a Farcry game people are not really complaining about being burned on that formula.

Edit: Wait never mind you are actually on the same page as me. Speaking of controls, I'm playing Zelda now and it controls like shit in comparison tbh. It feels like an old game, too bad since otherwise it's quite nice.

Not sure about you and where you are in the game, but the story gets better for me, with some interesting characters in the mix.

LOVED the final moments in the ending too.

Aloy is really well written. I think there's actually a bit of a step down between her and some of the side characters. Like Blas or Blat or whatever his name is. Who talks like that?
THE DAY I GAVE YOU THAT SCAR GAVE ME MUCH JOY

Btw anyone who called the Tallnecks ubitowers is kinda off. They're more like simple puzzles...

just unlocked my first tall neck and got serious ass creed anxiety when I looked at the map!.

Most of those icons are saving points and robot area locators. Outside of Metal flowers, there aren't a lot of superfluous items scattered about. Even all the extra stuff like camps and tall necks are few and far between.

I really wish there was a map filter. I have no idea why there isn't one.

You could say the same for Farcry games, like in most of the icons on the map are herbs and animals but yet people found that terrible somehow.

Anyways the game does have a lot of collectible, 30 metal flowers, 6 Banuk figures, 12 vantage points, 11 ancient vessels. Then there are the run of the mill activities that you need for platinum like corruption zones (think 12) and bandit camps (6 of them). And ofcourse tallnecks to reveal the map. All of them are scattered throughout the map much like a Ubisoft game.

It's not a bad thing per say, but it's not really any better in Horizon than it is in other games.

Why does the physics reset every time the camera angle changes during cutscenes? Happens in a lot of games as well. It breaks immersions.

I think Far Cry 3 had 30+ outposts to clear, 18 towers, 120 relics

Horizon is far more minimal than most others in the genre

I never found Far Cry 3/4 to be overwhelming either actually. At least from what I remember.
I was comparing it to AC and most recently Shadow Of Mordor and RoTTR since I've played those recently. RoTTR especially is littered with pointless shit everywhere.

OMG that
deathbringer
fight

I have no fast healing items left, because of the bandits and Corrupter right before the fight.

Goddamit.

I agree and it's kinda ruining the game for me . I'm fed up with this kind of shit .

Encumbrance is absolutely annoying as well .

I hate doing inventory management and not knowing if I need to keep this or that item for later.

I thought each item had its own inventory space and its own limit but nope . So I ended up missing out on a lot of great loot because I thought I already had maxed the amount of said loot when it was just a global ( 20 items ) limit .

I don't even know if I will finish the game .

The Carja Storm Ranger outfit (one of the deluxe edition DLC outfits) seems glitched for me, or at least something is up with the armour system.

I've been using it for much of the game too.

The thing is, it reduces the damage I take by like, 90%. But if I equip another piece of armour with similar or better stats it has no where near the same effect.

I've been testing this against the Thunderjaw's tail swipe. In Nora Survivor Heavy Gear with 23% physical damage resistance the Thunderjaw tail swipe takes about 90% of my health, and he has some other attacks that can one-shot kill me.

In the DLC outfit (Carja Storm Ranger) this same attack deals about 15% of my health.

Something is up here, and it might be what's causing the disparity between perceptions of difficulty too. Because I've noticed some people say this is game is really hard. It's really hard if I wear the wrong outfit, and I literally mean the wrong outfit. Because certain outfits get me one-shot even if they have better stats!

Not sure you'll see this but apparently the DLC Deluxe Edition "Carja Mighty Bow" and the "Carja Storm Ranger Outfit" do indeed seemed bugged to be much more powerful than they should be.

Reddit - Guide to Understanding Weapons, Armor, Mods, and Farming 10J Shards & Easy Purple Mods

What it says about this DLC gear:

"SIDE NOTE - GLITCHED DLC GEAR:

While this won't effect everyone, I thought it would be worth mentioning. 2 Pieces of Deluxe Edition DLC gear, the Carja Mighty Bow and Carja Storm Ranger Outfit, are currently performing far better that their stats suggest they should be. The blue tier Carja Bow out-damages its purple equivalent, the Shadow Hunter Bow, by a large margin (nearly double), even though the SHB can equip 3 purple damage mods. The Blue Carja outfit, takes 10% of the damage that the highest defense purple outfit you can obtain, even when that outfit is stacked with defensive mods. Were talking hits that would do 40 damage instead doing 4 damage. This is likely unintended and may be patched out in the future, but worth noting."

Finished the main Mission

I teared up a bit at the ending. What a beautiful story

I secretary hope they go back on their statement on different protagonists in the franchise. I got really attached to Aloy
and Elisabeth

There should be more tampons in gaming
There are shotguns in the game. Forgot the name of the archetype but they do exist.

Don't disagree with you though, more variety would be nice for a sequel, but at the same time I didn't feel that this games weapon variety was lacking or 'underwhelming'. There's a lot you can do with the weapons and different ammunition types in the game.

Are you referring to the Rattler? Yea, I unintentionally left that one out maybe subconsciously because I don't find myself using it in the game much. Anyway, I thought of that more so as a burst rifle of sorts rather than a shotgun but maybe you're further along than I am and we're thinking of different weapons?

I've only gotten resource limit problems after fully upgrading late in the game, but I was hoarding absolutely everything. 300 wires, 400 canisters, 1000 sticks, etc.

I don't think that was a Zero Dawn facility. I think that was just a Faro facility that locked the employees in to protect them from people attacking Faro employees out of anger. There was logs talking about locking Faro employees in their buildings for their own protection at the HQ. The happy birthday hologram makes it seem like it's before things got really bad.

It's probably already been mentioned but I just experienced this myself. A Strider charged at me so I set it on fire with fire arrows and it stopped and went into the nearby pond to put out the fire. When it came out of the water, I set it on fire again and it went back into the water to extinquish the flames. I thought it was a great detail in enemy behaviour.

Killing mecha monsters is fun until it turned into disappointment when you loot them. They managed to get the combat part of hunting right, but somehow neglected the other half aspect of it.

I mean the graphics are unreal but can anyone tell me why they choose to use so much fog for daytime? Sometimes very rarely the weather full clears and it looks absolutely stunning but most of the time there is fog like effect.

Anyone else constantly running out of wire?

Yes, this is the one you run out of most, mainly if you're using the sniper bow primarily or using lots of traps.

The best idea is to buy extra wire from shops until you get the extra salvaging ability or the making extra ammo/traps per amount of resources, those will help a lot with your resource management.

Just completed the first Cauldron, was very nice though I always seem to get lost every now and then in a dungeon.
