Think I goofed up, I was making a Twitter account on the Switch but decided against it once it started asking to confirm the account with phone, now every time I press to Post from Twitter it just shows that give us your mobile phone number page, can't go back to account linking page at all.. Anyway to reset this?

Not an asshole.
Okay, my Switch launch is almost complete. My mom just randomly gave me a $50 amazon card she got from her job. I just ordered a 128gb card and a carrying case on Amazon. I'm ready for the indie flood.

Thanks mom!

ah man, so you can only use the original Switch AC adapter with the dock?

I got my BB USBC cable, and it does seem to charge the Switch with a usb wall adapter. But when plugging that into the dock, it says it cant connect to the TV and I need the original AC adapter. Sucks.

You need a more powerful AC adapter for the dock. Don't use third party for now, I'd you want to use third party, use with handheld mode

Hada great experience of HD rumble tonight. One of the 1-2 Switch mini games asks you to imagine your joycon is a wooden box. Inside this box is a number of metal balls. By moving the joycon slowly around you have to guess how many balls are in there. Trust me when I say that it is totally convincing, HD rumble is very impressive, how on earth does it replicate the feel of balls rolling around and clinking together? Awesome!

Need to pick up a protective screen cover, but otherwise I'm having a good time with it.

What's with the pressing the A button three times to wake crap?

I think its any button, and likely so that it doesn't wake up accidentally on its own.

I just wanted to say than other than Zelda, Shovel Knight SoT and Fast RMX are proving to be outstanding launch games and the perfect compliment to the meaty experience of Zelda.

I'm a happy gamer. <3 my Switch.

Is it not possible to turn on / wake up the Switch from your controller? (I am using the Pro Controller).

I have the console docked and my TV switched to the correct HDMI input. When I press buttons on the controller it never "wakes up" the Switch. I have to manually press the power button on the Switch unit itself (which is awkward to do when it's docked and my room is in the dark).

Am I doing something wrong or Is there not a way to wake it from the controller?

Home button 3 times on the Pro Controller :)

Hmm got myself a USB c cord to use while in handheld mode. Have it connected to an iPad USB power adapter and it wasn't able to keep it charged while playing Zelda. Would a USB extender lower the output from the adapter?

Holding the home button works on the Joycon but I haven't tested it on the Pro Controller. I also accidentally turned off bluetooth in airplane mode and none of my controllers worked until I figured it out.

Works with Pro Controller as well.

How is it, better then using the joy con grip? Trying to decide if it is worth it to use it for a while to see if I get used to it.

Sorry, was enthralled in Zelda. :)

The Joycon grip to me feels a bit narrow. Its doable, but I gave myself about 30 minutes of just running around the intro area of Zelda to get accustomed to the split control method, but now, I'm used to it.

It may not work for everyone though, but it does have a little bit of a learning curve to get your mind and muscle memory used to it.

Since my case was delayed...

...A wash cloth makes an excellent Switch protective sock.

..in a world where collecting all kinds of cloth fuzz and fluff in vent openings is excellent ;)

Hi everyone.

Me and my gf just picked up the Switch so that we can have so MP fun together and I'm now looking for must have accessories, mainly screen protector and carrying case.

Also, I have a 2016 MBP so I can use my wall charger, right?

Thanks in advance.

Nice, thanks :)

I just tried and it works on the Pro Controller too. I wish they made the home button bigger and/or centered though, I feel it's kinda awkwardly positioned and sized for such a commonly used button. I supposed I'll get used to it though.

The iPad charger delivers up to 12W, if I'm not mistaken. To be able to charge it while playing, you'll probably need a beefier charger, like this or this. Now, of course, there's the question of how much current the Switch is able to draw while charging.

I got Switch and Zelda on Friday and have been playing tons.

I think the system is neat. I'm not sure how much I need handheld mode, but it's cool to have. As a piece of hardware it feels elegant and well designed, much moreso than Nintendo's other hardware.

Beyond that -- I love Zelda, Zelda is awesome, but my overall impression of Switch is a bit meh. The pro controller is comfortable (I wouldn't put it above DS4 or XB1 -- it's similarly comfortable but probably a bit lower tier because of no analog shoulder buttons and no headphone jack) but playing Zelda with the joycons is, to me, very uncomfortable. The buttons are small, start/select are hard to push, everything just feels cramped and wrong. Zelda is also difficult to play in handheld mode because unlike traditional handheld games it wasn't designed specifically for a small screen -- So it's like looking at a tiny shrunken version of the game. It's not a great experience.

Beyond that, the Switch -- Software side -- Is almost comically underbaked. I added my friends to my friends list, but I can't send them messages or drawings or screenshots. I guess it's there to help hook us together if we were playing something other than Zelda -- But, still, it's just so minimal. No trophies/achievements, can't share screenshots/video clips with friends, no VC, etc. It even lacks basic video streaming and web surfing functionality. If it had netflix/amazon/hulu/twitch/youtube/etc -- I realize there are many places to access these things, but they're so standard it's always weird when they're not there. I use consoles for streaming video all the fucking time, so it stands to reason I or someone else would use Switch for it.

I don't regret getting it because I know I'd want one sooner or later in any case, but knowing what I know now I would have been perfectly content to get the Wii U version of Zelda and just wait for Switch to mature. There's just so little there right now and the one big worthwhile thing to do (Zelda) is perfectly fine on Wii U.

Hmmmm... I was considering getting Fast RMX and you might have just convinced me!

I didn't do enough research on the charging grip before buying it so I thought it had a battery in the grip itself. Oh well, it's nice extra accessory to have regardless I suppose.

Shared this in the Issues thread, thought I'd share here too:

Yesterday I had to take my car in for an oil change. My mechanic was extremely busy, so I had to wait a while in the office. Pulled out my Switch and had a steady stream of people asking me about it. All of them had heard of the system and many mentioned wanting one, several people had actively called stores to try to get one.

Then it happened. "Sharing the joy" worked. I put the tablet on a table and invited one of the guys (a big guy in his 50s) who had been asking about it to some Snipperclips. We got a few people involved, all of us having a good time. We got in a round of Quick Draw on 1-2 Switch before my car was finished.

I know that this is just one experience, but I didn't expect it to go over like that. Nintendo has hit on something here, something I think most of us still don't quite understand.

It prevents the system from accidentally waking up and going into the menu. You can turn it off in the settings.

My brightness setting stops getting dimmer once it gets to the 1/3 way point.

Does it do that for everyone?
Can confirm mine does the same.

I'm loving my Switch! Haven't had any of the connectivity problems, while I sit pretty far away from the console, with my cat blocking direct line of sight and with my wireless headphones on.

There's one annoying thing though: in handheld mode with headphones, I can hear the buzzing sounds of the circuitry/electronics. This is especially annoying in Zelda, where there are a lot of quiet moments where this really stands out. Anyone else notice this?

Is there a way to get the Parental Controls to display hourly breakdowns?
Trying to gauge my average battery/charging times, but with no way to differentiate, I can't figure it out.

I'm having a small problem with the Switch connected to the dock, though I assume it's already been mentioned.

My dock is connected to an HDMI splitter, to which my Wii U and PS4 are also connected. If the Switch is in the dock and I'm playing, say, my PS4, the image on my monitor will go black from time to time and sometimes not even recover, kicking me back to the second HDMI port (my PC).

I'm definitely sure that it's my Switch what is causing this behavior, since I removed it from the dock, played Horizon for about an hour and had absolutely no issues with it anymore. Any ideas of what may be going on?

Also, is there any way to keep the Switch completely turned off when you connect it to the dock to charge? It turns itself on and goes to sleep mode whenever I connect it (which I assume is the root of my problem too).

I'm having the same problem. I'll be playing PS4 and every few minutes the TV will switch over to the HDMI that the Switch is connected to. Taking it out of the dock solves it. There's the setting for allowing the Switch to power on your TV, but disabling that doesn't make a difference.

I tried turning the Switch all the way off before docking, but the dock seems to power it back on into sleep mode.

Anyone know of The pro controller will charge without the switch on the dock? My pro controller just ran out of batteries (didn't do an initial charge) and I'm playing on handheld mode now with the pro plugged into the USB of the dock.

Can I use the switch AC adapter to charge my Pro Controller? Can't remember how these things work but I assume it lowers the voltage depending on the device?

Can't you just check in the controller menu on the Switch?

ive had a blast this weekend, Taking it to my parents house in handheld, playing in bed and also just sitting back and playing Zelda docked on my 55" 4K screen.

Im a PC gamer so the power step down from Xbox and PS4 is not an issue, if i want something with pretty graphics i have a machine that can wipe the floor with the other two boxes.

I dont mean this lightly but one weekend with Zelda on the Switch has surpassed two years ownership of the Xbox one for me already.

Yeah, I played Horizon 3 on the One. I'm gifting that to my wife's sister (they are struggling, and their kids really wanted an XBox One for XMas), and I'm just sticking with PS4/Switch from here on out.

Sorry OT

I love Horizon 3 and the Forza series in general but with Microsoft putting that stuff on Windows 10 they literally gave me 0 reasons to own an Xbox one now.

Networking Help:

When I got my switch, I connected it Wireless since Nintendo could not be bothered to put an Ethernet port...anyways, connected full bars to my 5ghz connection, Router is actually about 1.5 away from the Switch. Was able to download the day 1 system update in about a minute, same with the Zelda patch, was pretty damn fast. So today I decided to do the system network test and it is saying my Nat type is "D". But other times when I have done the test it has said "A", then another time "B", but mainly "D". Also it says my download speed is averaging around 8-10 down...but I have a 200 down internet package. My PC, Laptop, Xbox One & PS4 all report speeds from 180 to 210 down no issues, but the Switch is averaging about 8-10 down.

Anyone else experiencing issues like this? Again, when I downloaded the patch it did it very fast and also downloaded the demo for puzzle game pretty quick.

I today went to Best Buy and bought a Lan USB adapter, but it did not work. Even connected it to the Xbox One and it must be a defective unit since it did not work on the One or Switch. Does anyone know if Nintendo makes a Lan USB adapter?
