World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

What's the hardest boss on a +15 Tyrannical?

I was thinking Heimdall, Shade or Advisor but this week with Volcanic Helya and Wrath are extremely brutal.

Melandrus especially just used to be an incredibly tight DPS check and required a lot of healing until you just ran out of globals to keep everybody up. But now people can handle that at 15 fairly easily and a lot of groups have no trouble carrying a crappy DPS on 15.

A lot of it is just them being overtuned with specific affixes, or it being down to RNG or comp. But you used to not be able to make any misstep on Melandrus, even at 12 or 13 tyrannical.

Previous expansions PVE wore thin a lot slower for me than Legion's. It's only my third time through Legion's PVE from start to finish and the only Legion zone I can say I like is Azsuna, mainly because it's the shortest.

Personally, I find Highmountain to be really breezy and enjoyable. For being a "long" zone it doesn't really feel like it to me, even the 5th or 6th time through. The only thing I don't like is all the harpies who make lots of noise and love to aggro at range, but won't come together for cleave. I suppose Azsuna does have that going for it: it's the harpy-free zone.

I love Xe'ra's Italian voice actress. Especially how she says Illidan. One of the voices I like the most to hear in Legion, along with the Wolf girl for the nutcracker WQ. Also Thalyssra, especially when doing the Withered runs for alts and grabbing boxes. The way she points a box being big is almost erotic.

Got my monk to 110, did her first world boss and another person who just dinged 110 got a Leg off of it (Fragment of the Betrayer's Prison).

Has anyone done a faction change with a Legion character? Just wondering what, if anything, gets lost or has to be redone.

Not recently, but about 3 months ago I did and I had to redo the Stormheim intro. I think I was still collecting essences out of EN back then as well, and that sucked. So make sure your BoP / Suramar stuff is at a point where you're not collecting stuff and can pick up the quest afterwards again.

The character I want to switch has nothing going on. I've finished the four starting zones and haven't started Suramar yet. Sounds like I'll have to do the Stormheim intro again. I did a Google search and faction changing has all kinds of different results for people but that part seems to be the most common.

It's not my main so I'm not too concerned with losing progress. Just wanted an idea of what to expect.

Have to say I am really bored of Legion and doing the same world quests again and again for 7 months now, there is a lack of content and to be honest now that I think about it I don't get the praise of Legion for the fast content release.

So far they have released 7.1 with Kara in which half the dungeon was a reskin so they didn't had to create any new art, only the later part is new and also much smaller. They also released Trials of Valor with art and bosses which already existed in the game they only made the mechanics. Lastly we got Nighthold in late January which while a nice raid was held back. Meanwhile there has been little to 0 content for outdoor only raids and a dungeon.

Mists on the other hand got 5.1 in late November, same time as 7.1, with new quests and a new faction, then we got 5.2, which is the equivelant of 7.2 with new raid and zone, in 5th of March. 5.2 had new art and new raid with little to new reskins while 7.2 is full of reskins (if I am not mistaken only the final 2 bosses are new designs) and new tier sets instead of reskins of tiers from the black temple.

Also the way I see it the raid content of MoP and Legion is comparable:
Mogushan Vaults = Emerald Nightmare
Heart of Fear = Nighthold
Terrace of the Endless Springs = Trials of Valor

In my opinion Mists had way more content and faster (since Mists was released late September instead of late August) so I really don't get the praise for Blizzard.

Apparently Mists Timewalking is broken (big surprise, TW is broken!!!)

But its not in the usual way with bad scaling, its that you randomly dont get credit for completions and have to roll for Artifact Power drops. Hopefully it will be hotfixed

Thank you, NA beta testers, so that we EU folks can hopefully get a working version. :A

But yeah, sucks. Anything about the difficulty? Would be hilarious if MoP dungeons would now suddenly be totally hard.

That's why I'm on a break until 7.2. I'll do new content, grind out some more alts and WQs and go back into hibernation. I've been following the same pattern since MoP.

Got 800 in herbalism on my monk and it convinced me two different people (at least) managed gathering professions.
I had to go WQ to WQ and waiting for Darkmoon to get mining to 800 because nodes stopped giving points around 780 or so but for Herbalism the nodes were still green and easily giving points upward to 795, at which point I just got the last 5 points from the faire.
Doesn't even feel fair, to be honest.

This game can be so fun and rewarding. Omg.

Here we are in Nagarland fighting in the arena. This lonesome Paladin and I. We fight off all that this guy can throw at us and finally reach the final round. We both stomp the Boss and we cheer and celebrate and go to leave the arena. The quest hasn't been updated and the quest giver still says he's still alive...

We turn around and he's revived himself. He's bigger and faster then before. We do what we can but, he effortlessly defeats us. We do our corpse walk and attempt it again. This time we'll be ready. We're both dead in seconds.

5th times the charm, right? We drink an attack+ potion and ready to fight. Suddenly an alliance paladin comes. He decided to help. Threes a crowd? not so! First Phase done quick. Second phase we lure the boss out of the arena.

Two more guys questing nearby jump in and we kill the Boss! Victory!

I mean if you don't progression raid, there really never is going to be enough content for you without it being ridiculously overwhelming to the people that are raiding week in and week out. Open world content has never been the main priority. For the people it matters most to, they just play when it's fresh, and drop the game when they've exhausted it anyway.

The schedule for Legion in terms of raid releases has been pretty damn good so far, Helya aside.

Mists dumped it's load way too fast.

Mists had open world content on every single patch and yeah raid releases are good but we are stack doing the same fucking world quests for 7 months here it is unacceptable, hope 7.2 changes that.

It's so much less unacceptable than the horseshit that Draenor had. I spent more time fishing and doing Loremaster than I did doing current content.

why do people insist on using personal loot for legacy raids? cool less gear and a million whispers HEY BRO CAN U GIVE? every time something drops

I really do hate those quests where you have to hunt a rare monster with a timed spawn. I spent the better part of my afternoon camping said monster, only for alliance jokers to snipe my kill. Found a nice horde guy that grouped with me and we finished the quest together. An alliance guy came by and was too late too the kill. Better luck next time :p!

For what it's worth, that's a design decision that goes away in Warlords of Draenor (so 90+). In real terms it went away halfway through Pandaria, but that's old-endgame content you probably won't see.

The Arena chain's one of the biggest successes of TBC questing. It's slightly clumsily implemented (which you wouldn't see now, because there's not usually many people hitting it at once), but it's one of the chains that always sticks in peoples' minds.

Kinda funny that I had shit trinkets a week ago but now I have awesome ones, I got a 880 Horn of Valor last week and I bonus rolled a 900 Convergence of Fates last night. First one to drop in my guild as far as I know, somehow. It's not listed as super high for a BoS Frost DK, but I think it'll be very helpful. I see this as something that might not raise my DPS massively (I already have the seal of necrofantasia) but will make me more consistent. Our raid damage varies wildly based on who shows up and who dies early, and I often end up either with an extra charge of Hungering Rune Weapon or I have to use a short breath without HRW (which sucks). This should smooth it out a bit.

We're really close to getting heroic Gul'Dan down, we skipped most of normal mode to speed things up and got to him last night. I don't want to be a dick about it because this is a 'casual' raiding guild but we simply did not have the DPS in the final phase to make up for the people who die in phase 1 every time or do 300k for the entire fight. Mechanically our core raiders have it down 100%. Kinda frustrating but he should be dead this week.

Pandaria timewalk is awesome. I love doing these dungeons once again. Well, apart from the Jinyu boss in the temple because he has to waste your time and the walking buff with all that useless banter instead of simply kneeling over and die.

Convergence of Fates is really awesome especially combined with seal of necrofantasia because it allows you to blow both hungering weapon charges on the pull and still have a new charge off cd when breath of sindragosa goes off cd again.

Are they ever going to fix these load times?

I hear this a lot, but I've never actually experienced this. Load screens are literally seconds on an NVMe drive. For a game you play a lot that has to load areas, you owe it to yourself to put the game on an SSD.

There's some serious load issues, particularly with garrisons and new Dalaran, that were introduced in 7.1. These even resulted in crashes in many cases. They didn't affect everyone, but they still affected a decent portion of people, including those with SSDs. Bliz acknowledged the issue and fixed many cases eventually, but it's still an issue for some. I have a friend on an SSD that still can't reliably load his garrison in a timely manner.

It's ona SSD. It's a WoW exclusive issue.

Sometimes the community can be so kind. Someone gave me 10k gold and enchanted my 2 heirloom weapons. Even helped me kill some tough Elite Bosses that were wrecking me.

I'm so mad I rage quitted. These Shadowmoon valley quests are clearly not designed for solo content. I went to kill some dragons for a quest. Regular Non-Elite enemies and they did 18.6k damage to me. Regular attack. If it's group content then clearly I should go somewhere else as nobody groups here.

Yeah, there's alot of 'group' content that tends to involve killing enemies that would regularly wreck you without a group. Yeah, the outlands still suck in that regard >_>

I mean I''d be fine with it but, nobody groups there. Should i go to Netherstorm instead?

Hrmm. I forgot how the levelling works in BC, as in if each area has a different level scaling...and each area has a fair amount of group quests, but Shadowmoon Valley was more 'endgame' for Burning Crusade than any other area in Outlands. So yeah, Netherstorm might be a little bit better in that regard.

Zoned back out from a battleground and suddenly the Dalaran guards started attacking me

Gathered a bit of a confused crowd of players watching me wage a war on the city.

Each zone has different static levels. I don't think any of them overlap really.

Is it safe to use account-bound rep tokens on alts, or could Blizzard change their mind about using them beyond exalted?

Well, they aren't account wide, so it's definitely fine to use them now. They've also said that the current rep tokens won't work past exalted, so I doubt that would say that and then change their minds, it'd be pretty douchy.

The same thing will happen to AP, current AP won't work past 54, so it seems like they don't want people stockpiling items to use them later on.

I didn't read that about the rep tokens not being usable after the patch... but they become account bound after you hit exalted right now.

Holy Priest definitely fills the void that the class fantasy of Legion Holy Paladin left. I get to stand safely in the background waving golden hands around healing everyone and don't have to be anywhere near the melee scrums to maximise a mastery I don't particularly like or care for.

It's super easy to level in older content as Holy too, you burn through pve mobs popping Holy Nova like an Arcane Mage can Explosion. Definitely enjoy Holy more than Discipline, although I imagine I'll have to switch once I hit current or even Draenor content. I'll still probably get the Holy artifact first, just to see what it's like for the first two levels, before switching to Discipline if I have to.

My daily raid bitching post: So many wipes on Spellblade and we still have Botanist to kill, I'm thinking we'll probably not even get to try Mythic Tich this week with how many wipes we're having.

I don't even need loot from these 2 bosses, gah.

I have bonused rolled mythic spell blade like 6-7 times. All AP, and an item I already have. Fuck this stupid ass game.
