Ending E question:

Does the game want me to accept this rescue offer? I'm being stubborn and trying to be a hero, but I have a feeling I'm supposed to accept it.

I don't know anyone that cleared it without it. What's being thrown at you is insane.

if your super good you can complete it, but tons of people are not good alone and need help and support from others sometimes. Its a nice lesson about life

Been playing for god knows how many hours.

Some of the best world building and characterization in this industry.

Soundtrack is overwhelmingly good,GREAT npc writing, stellar crisp combat.

Guys please buy this. This team needs to stay together, keep making games and getting big budgets.

Definitely platinum's best game by quite a big leap.

Imagine a yoko taro game with platinum based on mgs rising. The stories he could tell in that world plus platinum's gameplay. I'd be so into it lol.

But another nier game I'd also love to see soon. I don't wanna wait half a decade to get another one lol.

It doesn't have to be nier, just being Taro and Platinum is wonderful enough. Only thing now I want is a higher budget, as far as I'm concerned I got my dream game.

Nier with final fantasy budget, don't think my mind can take it.

Baby steps.

We went from wondering if Yoko Taro could ever work on decently budgeted retail-priced games ever again after back-to-back bombas to now being relatively confident that he'll probably continue to have a safe spot in Square's product investment portfolio.

Heck, it would not be too surprising if other publishers are starting to take notice of him and may want him to make a new IP for them.

I've heard there's a
secret boss at one of the joke endings
. If that's true, can someone give me a hint of where it could be.

It's the other way around.
You can get a joke ending from the secret boss.

Any tips for dealing with Route B's combat? Or do you just grit your teeth and endure?

Fist weapons work really well, and the spear throw attack does too. I rarely bothered with
hacking enemies.

You're using a long range attacker so play them like that. Mix that up with
hacking
and you should be good. But using the spear is also really helpful. The catch with the attack animation is the lack of stepping forward, the spear fixes a lot of that.

yeah, as far as I am concerned bigger budgets could actually be a hindrance!

All I want is this team to stay together ,and keep making games.

Current budget for Automata is good.Possibly the highest Taro or Platinum every got.

All I ask for the next title they work on is a bit more in terms of areas. The reuse in Automata is a wee-bit too much for me.

Just keep on keeping on. There are no special requirements or anything. You'll know when you've reached the end.

Without spoiling anything, NG+ in this game is not the exact same old, same old thing that you get in other games. It's a continuation/expansion of the story.

I haven't played the game but I'm basically told that each time you beat the game you essentially unlock another chapter. Each playthrough is a different chapter. And it eventually has a final ending.

Late Route A spoilers: I've been thinking all morning about the part in the factory with the
cult robots
. That whole part was just done so well. The tone itself was crazy but the music just elevated it to beyond memorable:
https://youtu.be/t1OB6ZrZGzc (video has spoilers of this part)

And leading up to this boss fight with the music that syncs up perfectly with the gameplay:

Just amazing.
This is already my favourite game of all time and I've only just started route C

Got ending C.

PG is the best at what they do. This is one of the best games of the generation.

I can tell what to do for ending D, but what about E?

People call them routes and endings, but really it's just times where they arbitrarily roll the credits a few times during the game. You can just play through straight without worrying about doing anything special and you'll get all the main, non-joke, "endings"

You choose the option that pops up during the credits and
play an annoying minigame, make sure you're connected to the servers or it's basically unbeatable.

just get ending D, the credits roll and you can get E by stopping the deletion of data as 042

Yeah, Routes in Automata is way more streamlined. If anything, I wouldn't even call it routes/endings.

It's closer to:

A:
first half of story from 2B's perspective.
B:
first half of story from 9S's perspective.
C/D/E:
2nd half of story with different endings choices.

Automata, rather than
a story of divergent timelines & routes
is a story of
a single story that has a mid-season finale, etc with multiple outcomes at the end.
