People over here are unaware of its existence, plenty of untouched units everywhere.

Got my tracking number from Amazon.es, looks like it's going to be here Monday.

It's going to be a loooooooong weekend.

haha, congrats though, at least you're getting one. I couldn't stop playing zelda (mine showed up yesterday from amazon.es), it was definitely worth the wait and refreshing amazon.es every 5m for 7 days straight.

Do you have a link to the US adapter plug you bought for the console?

That makes no sense (Not to imply I don't believe you). Some dude was just able to walk in and get someone else's preorder without showing ID or the CC used to make the purchase? So he got a Switch for free, basically? That's a staggering amount of ineptitude, even for Wal-Mart.

Something somewhat-similar happened to me on launch day. I had preordered at Amazon and Best Buy. Amazon preorder was successful, so I canceled Best Buy. I got an email a couple days before launch from BB saying that my Breath of the Wild Pre-Order was successful and that it'd be available for in-store pickup. I guess I purchased it in a haste without logging into my account, because there was nothing in my account indicating a Zelda Pre-Order (I do remember ordering it though).

I walk into Best Buy that night just to cancel the order so I wouldn't get charged. I go to the register, tell them I want to cancel. They ask my name, find the box, take the sticker off, and say that they'll cancel it. I walked out and got a cancellation email a few mintues later.

They never asked for ID. They never asked for a receipt. They never asked for any proof that I was who I said I was. This was a manager who did it, too. Some stores just do not give a shit about policy.

Everything worked out for me, but it was extremely odd to me that they didn't ask for a shred of proof.

Unless your name is John or Something common, they may have used their better judgment that it didn't belong to another person named Kim jong Un or something uncommon.

Well I canceled that Walmart.com order. Maybe that will free one up if they ever find one for someone else. I want the authorization off my card so I can be free to buy one in the next few weeks were I to find one. I do have Zelda, Pro Controller and a case all arriving Friday though haha.

You can't just swap out the entire plug on the dock, it's attached?
The AC adapter included with the system is a single piece that goes from a wall plug to USB-C. You can either plug that into the dock or directly into the Switch unit to power it. Since it's just one piece, you can't just swap out the wall wart or the plug on it, you have to either get a plug adapter for $10 or less (which only changes the physical metal connections, doesn't do any voltage conversion or anything), buy a whole new adapter for $30 with the right wall plug for your region, or buy a third-party USB-C charger for whatever price you can find, probably around $30 as well (ideally one that supports USB PD so you get the maximum power delivery to the Switch and/or dock).

Hope that helps.

I've been calling around the Madison, WI area since launch and still no luck between Target(s), Walmart(s), Game Stop, Best Buy, and Toys R' Us. Everyone is basically saying that they won't get another shipment until some time in April.

Yep that helps. I thought I recalled seeing the AC adapter removed from the dock, but was confused when the adapter was posted.

Has anyone ever seen a Switch on Prime Now?

I'm in NYC and only see the Pro controller. Have never encountered a Switch. Curious to see if anyone here has seen a Switch on Amazon Prime Now?

(i keep exploring my options lol)

There was one in Tampa like last week. If was up for at least a day too.

Those are display boxes

Not retail units boxes. Unless you can confirm that the store has as many in the back as the store shelves have display units of course.

Feels like the NES classic all over again.

It's mind boggling that you still can't find the classic anywheee.

NES Classic seems like it was always intended to be a limited run, hard to get item to keep Nintendo's name out there during Holiday 2016. It did it's job. Nintendo will want people to buy a Switch and Virtual Console games now.

I've visited a few major electronic retail stores where I live (Spain) and they all had Switches. But again, I've always seen shelves full of NES classics and amiibos when people claimed shortage, so I'm guessing it is maybe more of a US-centered issue.

That makes no sense whatsoever and is such a shitty move if true.

Big thanks to your homeland for getting me a Switch when the USA failed me!

At what point is Nintendo's second month sales actually way less than they could have been?

I mean, dang. The thirst is real RIGHT NOW.

I'm just worried that if something is wrong with the system that NoA won't cover it

Of course NoA won't cover it, it's a NoE Switch. I wouldn't import any hardware, games is fine but with hardware you'd want to be able to send the stuff back to the retailer you bought if from if you have any warranty issue.

That seems like a terrible idea. You'd end up with a lot of pissed off customers.

Uh? Display boxes are used even when the item isn't in stock almost everywhere.

You want people to ask for it and to project the branding/system/whatever.

This is very obviously a Nintendo shelf (which Nintendo probably fills and pays for)

It's really too bad that this thing can't be found anywhere. I already own Zelda on the Wii U but am willing to buy a Switch to play it on the go. But the further I get in Zelda the less inclined I am to invest. Ah well.

Also gray >>>> neon fight me I don't care

Correct. I never buy imported hardware becuase good luck trying to get your system overseas for warranty, and expecting them to ship it back...
