Horizon comes off as a passion project that Guerilla wants us to buy so they can sustain it. Mass Effect: Andromeda on the other hand has EA pretty much saying, "here's this game from this franchise we bought up. We cobbled together this game, give me your fucking money."

It's speculations, but this is exactly what I'm thinking as well. Bioware Edmonton WANTED to make the ME trilogy and it was a passion project for them. It was a success and one of the reason EA wanted to buy them, but they have moved on.

Building up a new team made up of whoever and telling them: make a new ME game so we make profits would be pure greed. Expected, but disappointing none the less since the line between success and failure is thin in a creative industry. I still expect Andromeda to outsell Horizon as it's a multi-platform game with a build-in history (and the multiplayer component does look solid).

Hey at least you weren't like me who only realized that you can tag multiple enemies
30 hours into the game

You can? D: hardly ever use it tho, except for animals.

Also took me awhile to realize that L3 toggled run and that you didn't have to keep it pressed... #noob

My first post Horizon game is Persona 5, but god damn Horizon makes ME:A look last gen. Really doesn't help that Bioware is pretty much Bioware in name only with most of the notable talent being gone...it'd probably look like a glitch fest on the Decima engine too cause Frostbite is still a great looking engine.

Let's not condone Bioware so fast, as it's Bioware Montreal who is doing Andromeda.

Bioware Edmonton (the A-team) is supposedly working on a new IP which is rumored to be inspired by Destiny.

Bioware Edmonton?(the B-team) is working on the Dragon Age franchise.

Bioware Montreal (the C-team) is working on Mass Effect now.

Let's not forget that Shadow Fall wasn't made by GG top team and it showed (although it was graphically impressive as a launch title, so it's a trademark of GG).

this
aquired taste
quest really should have used up materials of shit you already killed sigh

and it turns out I have 12 errands done so I guess im missing 2. oh well, think I cba looking what they are, I really am at the home stretch now of my will to play, almost 50 hours in mind you, so its only natural.

I don't even hate Bioware since I liked DA:I minus the narrative. Shadowfall was not my favorite Killzone game, heck GG Amsterdam made Mercenaries so it just proves as long as the studio has talent then the game is in good hands. Andromeda just seems like a rush job made by an inexperienced team. I hope the A Team of Bioware gets their game out since I still want them to do well. I don't exactly like seeing studios die from the EA purchase curse.

"Does photomode make the game look cleaner in any way?"

Roderick – Lead Lighting Artist
"We do not add anything specific in terms of render output (no higher sample counts or special better anti-aliasing for instance), however, as we use temporal effects for things like SSAO, DOF, and antialiasing, it means that certain things over time might look cleaner. But as differences become smaller on a per pixel level really fast the effects are usually negligible after a couple of frames."

Nil related spoiler question.

what happens if you choose to fight Nil to the death?

you... fight Nil to the death :p

Given there is a ton of quick saves and a save right next to that I made my wife safe and reload and choose it as I am never going to bother going through the bandit camps lol.

edit: the only actual interesting thing from the AMA is the fact that their tester benchmark for speed run plat is 21 hours. :/
didn't figure they would touch on DLC or an sequel at this time. at least we got a story based dlc confirmed in the sales thread. here's hoping it's meaty and priced well... but I will likely be there day 1 regardless.

So have a weird issue.

I have all the Ancient Vessels except for one. Actually, it's the first one for the first set. But the problem is I don't see the last Ancient Vessel marked on my map. I think my game may have bugged.

Has anyone else has an issue similar to this?

I am curious how they are. the art book is 192 pages for 300 images so I am curious of the quality of the images.

and the guide is 656 pages so I am curious how much art is in it lol.

- Honor the Fallen (great story and meaning)
- Fatal Inheritence (good story and battle)
- Hunter's Blind - Deadliest Game - Redmaw (great story and battles)
- Death from the Skies (great battles)
- Blood on Stone (cool battles)
- Sunstone Rock (cool mission)
- Acquired Taste (great character and misteries)

Highlighted my favourites but I would definetely recommend the rest.

I have the artbook, it's really nice. It gives a lot of background information on stuff as well.

I've got the art book. Tbh I feel like 200 pages isn't enough, and there's far less covering the machines than you'd hope - most get a two page spread and that's it - but books like Okami's and Valkyria Chronicles' probably spoiled me a little. There's a nice big section for Aloy and some interesting stuff about how they designed ruins and went from a modern-day town or structure and then aged it across several iterations of concept art before reaching the asymmetric, always-bespoke stuff you see in the game.

I can detect no problems with the book's image quality, but it's... Y'know, art on glossy paper. Nothing remarkable one way or the other in that regard (to me at least).

Another thing I learned later in the game was that the ropecaster does really good tear damage depending on where you stick your shots, so you'll pull out parts faster.
