Shaq believes in a flat earth. Edit: Claims he doesn't believe in a flat earth

I'm saying that if the earth is a "globe" and rotating at something like 1000MPH shouldn't we feel it in some way shape or form? When we drive cars we do feel like we are moving traveling at any MPH, so that is my question

I need to leave this planet.

Just drive off the edge.

Disappointed you marks think this is a work when it's actually a shoot.

How do we know he hasn't worked himself so hard, he got worked into a shoot?

Shouldn't you be out grifting tourists?

This is why I enjoy reading GAF, thank you guys.

The internet's affect on humanity is like the wheel and fire put together. Youtube, one single video hosting service, has had the power to spread the influence of peripheral social views and theories of conspiracies to the point that these things now infect the main stream. People now trust what they see on youtube more than they do the education they received in school. It has been an amazing phenomenon to watch from it's beginnings, and I'm interested to see what further affects it will have on our species before I die.

Also, I hope Javile uses this to put that bully in his place.

You're moving at 1000 mph too. You feel yourself moving in cars because it's always rumbling, and is always accelerating or decelerating at least a tiny bit.

Because you are "attached" to the earth via gravity, you are always accelerating at the same speed and in the same direction that the earth is. This is why you don't sense movement when you are perfectly still. You do sense movement when you begin accelerating in a different speed or direction relative to the earth's rotation.

Why do all flat-earthers make it sound as if America (or whatever continent they live on) must be a globe for the Earth to be round. Dafuq, do they intentionally ignore the size of the Earth to justify their shitty theory.

Also, no way is Shaq serious. Man's that tall that he can literally see the curvature.

Scientificaly, when an object moves at a constant speed it's in 'rest'.

If you'd sit in a car driving at a constant speed on a smooth surface (and probably in vacuum too) without any bumbs and without a rumbling motor (so you don't have any motion besides going forwards at the same speed) you wouldn't notice either, because there is no force influencing your movement.

You don't feel like you are moving at all when you are driving.

If the earth is round why does Shaq believes in a flat earth?

After all he was a great baseball player and we all know that popular people are the better people.

You know, I really think we should give a much bigger emphasis (on the internet and otherwise) to laying down the fundamentals. If we can get those through to a lot of people they'll probably have an easier time progressing on their own from there. And since they'll be the ones making the progress they'll trust it much more than if they'd heard it from someone else.

We like to make fun of people for not knowing the fundamentals but we really shouldn't because history has shown that they can be very counter intuitive even for the smartest of individuals.

Newton's first law is a great example of this, being relevant to the thread as well as literally taking humanity's brightest minds thousands of years to get right!
Remember: Ancient Greeks were no fools and they still completely missed this one!

I'm starting a whole new conspiracy theory. I believe that "flat earthers" are members of a secret society and part of their initiation is to announce their "beliefs" publicly. This is the only explanation of how such a impossibly moronic belief could possible exist.

However now that I have outed their society I am sure that I am in grave danger. If this is the last post that I make then I am already lost. Pray for me...

Wait. something i weirdly just thought about.

aren't there like timelapses of the Earth rotating? that has to be proof enough for anyone right?

Any visual evidence that doesn't jive with their worldview is considered fake, made by the very people propagating the round earth conspiracy. Doesn't matter how compelling it is. If you like NASA on Facebook you will see some weird comments on pictures of space.

I saw Shaq in a grocery store in Orlando yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

did that really happen

I am seriously not convinced that this is the same universe that I was born in. What the fuck is going in this world?!?!?!

It's flat now. get over it. The flat Earth community doesn't get enough representation. It's always been flat but was appropriated by round Earthers after some Euro centrics decided it was. And we progressives are taking it back now.

Is there a flat earth explanation for what happens when you meet the edge? And what's 'underneath'?

Some of them believe that the outer edges are the eternal ice mountains of antarctica. I guess that is supposed to block the water from falling.

Threads like this really make me uncomfortable, there's no greater example of poe's law.
I don't know if these people are for real any more or joking.

There are some really, really stupid people.

You get... magically teleported to the opposite side? What happens if you straddle the edge? And again, what's beneath the 'disc'?

We're not sure but are afraid to dig down too much cause we'd fall through into outer space.
