To be honest, I don't understand how you can even imagine how you could have different time in different places with a flat earth, this solution is stupid as soon as you look at it. Just take a table and a lamp and try (even if you don't illuminate the whole table, you won't see the light going near the horizon).

I went and researched how they explain ships going down over the horizon in the distance and they really don't explain it at all.

The explanation is, essentially "you're not really seeing that, you've just been conditioned to think you are seeing that so you imagine it"
