When you fuck up, not everyone is gonna forgive you by default. You have a decent amount of control over how bad the damage is though.
The principles of damage control include truly apologising, making amends and making a gesture - from what i can tell this doesn't really fit the bill. The "apology" is nominal.

In Max's case, he literally misspoke one word. It also helps if you have almost nothing but good will built up for you beforehand.

You'll notice no one who commented on this entire ordeal actually spoke up against Jon, but rather went about it in a roundabout way, either reaffirming their views, implying they don't stand with Jon at all (most of the NB dudes), or just trying to turn it into something else (TotalBiscuit).
A lot of them also commented because people were concerned that their association with Jon meant that they held similar beliefs. The only one who ever spoke out against Jon directly is PBG, but he removed most of the damning comments from weeks ago because it blew up and some people like Psychicpebbles made a scene about him airing dirty laundry.
h3h3 is a fucking fraud who won't say a word about it, but continue to blast "SJW's" and "the media".

IIRC, he said the n-word in a stream because he was reading a donation. There was no intent and he apologized for not paying attention
I doubt it will ever happen because both parties bear some responsibility in the process of forgiveness. The Youtube personality needs to be genuine and the offended audience needs to be willing to forgive.
Though I'm willing to bet that any audience that easily gets whipped up into a frenzy over a Youtube personality who can't articulate isn't eager to forgive either.

Accidentally uttered the n-word after he fumbled a convoluted tongue twister during a heated moment. I feel like the points he brought up in the video were not at all what he was saying over Twitter. Like night and day. The video in fact seems to contradixt a lot of those ideas. I guess he just needed to feed something to his fanbase that seems a lot more rational than what he was spewing last week.

Not a YouTuber, but tangentially related in the Gaming Community, the late Ryan Davis wrote a convincing apology for using a racial slur during a live show. He took full ownership of his gaff and pressed it as unforgivable, but a learning experience nonetheless.

I gave up on Ethan after he came out defending his boy PDP. Hes buds with JonTron so I doubt he will say anything about it.
His Facebook has various Pro-Trump and Anti-Clinton images. He believes voting booths are rigged, and that Pizzagate is real.
He's also an avid Alex Jones fan going by the alt account he uses to pose as his mother.
It wasn't this particular incident but a few weeks ago where PBG called out Jon on Twitter for some "choice opinions" about immigrants. After a brief exchange with h3h3 where Ethan baited him into answering a loaded question, Austin publicly responded by saying he wasn't friends with Jon. Jon and Ethan shared a dickish "lol it's okay because he has the high ground" comment and Austin took umbrage with Jon pretending that they broke off their friendship over political discourse, to which Psychicpebbles railed against him for talking about it in public. Austin removed the tweets after a while because people blew it into a bigger deal than it needed to be and kept instigating him, making a bunch of dumb claims about him and prying into his motivations.
If you believe anybody associated with Maker Studios is gonna willingly do a video calling out Jontron then you can keep dreaming. TB and Boogie didnt do it, so why would Ethan?
Then be specific. Don't blanket statement such a large group or you'll get called out.

All ive been following is him and the entire Sleepycabin crew railing on Destiny over how much animators get paid on youtube.
He uses an account called "LadyBuggin777" to like & favorite his own videos, as well as deflect all criticism towards his show, crying that anyone that hates him is a Clinton supporter.
Of course he denies that he's posing as his mom, but there's too much evidence to show he is. Like similar writing style, same IP address, and she would disappear when Chris would go to E3 or something. When people ask LadyBuggin for proof, she won't give it, only adding the suspicion that they're the same person.

JonTron's older videos were fantastic. I will always cherish his lightsaber duel with Arin in the Star Wars episode and his "STOP!" meme.

Exactly lol. Like I wish he would just grow some balls and stick to how he truly feels. It is obvious that he will never learn to be more open-minded so I would prefer for him to stay true to his racist, ignorant self. Rather that then him trying to change and become more coded with his racism.
