"The Paris Robbery" - A Very Special Episode Of Keeping Up With The Kardashians

For those unaware, five masked gunmen stormed into Kim Kardashian's Paris hotel room (she was alone) at about 3am. With a gun to her head, she was tied up and her mouth was gagged. She was also robbed of about 10 million dollars in jewelry including her engagement ring. 17 people across Europe have since been arrested for the robbery including Kim's chauffeur (it was an inside job).

Here is a 3 minute recap from E! of the highly anticipated "Paris" episode which just aired.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NmnN1oUXYM

It's a very shocking episode, particularly as the show was being filmed whilst the Kardashians were in Paris, so there's a lot of footage of before and after the robbery.

Kim described how she was only in her robe (naked underneath), and one of the men grabbed both her ankles and pulled her towards him on the bed - and she cries about how it was at that point she felt she was about to be raped.

She also talks about how she mentally prepared herself to die. It was at this point she began to sob about her sister Kourtney returning to the hotel room and finding her dead.

The episode also showed her reuniting for the first time with her children following the robbery.

Kim Kardashian is finally telling her side of the story.

After over five months of media reports and speculation about her shocking Paris robbery, Kim set the record straight and shared the frightening details of the attack—including the moment she thought she'd be raped—in tonight's highly anticipated episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"What I think happened now after thinking about it so much is that there was probably a group of guys that were following us the entire trip," the 36-year-old mogul revealed as Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian sat by her side for support. "I was Snapchatting that I was home and everyone was going to out, so I think they knew Pascal [Duvier] was out with Kourtney and that I was there by myself."

"They had this window of opportunity and just went for it," she added.

Kim recalled hearing footsteps pounding up the stairs while she was in bed. She called out, but there was no response. "And then at that moment, when there wasn't an answer, my heart started to get really tense," she said. "I knew something wasn't quite right."

She saw two men dressed in police uniforms walk inside while holding another man down. That man turned out to be the concierge, who was handcuffed and holding the key to the room. "What I've heard from talking to him afterward is they said, you know, 'Where's the rapper's wife? Let us up to her room!' in French," Kim said. "He ended up being our interpreter because I couldn't understand them, they couldn't understand me."

The concierge told her to give them her ring, which was on the table. The robbers then dragged her out to hallway at the top of the stairs and that's when Kim realized they were armed.

"I was looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs," she recalled. "I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back—it makes me so upset to think about it—but either they're going to shoot me in the back or if I make it and they don't, if the elevator doesn't open in time or the stairs are locked, then I'm f--ked! There's no way out."

Afterward, they took her back inside the room. All the while, Kim was looking at the concierge and pleading with him to ask them to spare her life. "I have babies. Please, they can't understand me, but tell them I have babies at home," she begged. "Please, I have a family. Let me live!"

Kim then described the man putting duct tape on her mouth to stop her from yelling. "And then, he grabs my legs and I wasn't, you know, I had no clothes on under. He pulled me toward him at the front of the bed and I thought, 'OK, this is the moment they're going to rape me,'" she said. "I fully mentally prepped myself—and then he didn't."

He put duct tape around her legs and then held the gun up to her head. "I just knew that was the moment. They're just totally going to shoot me in the head. I just prayed that Kourtney's going to have a normal life after she sees my dead body on the bed."

Kim then broke down in tears as she relived the instant she believed she would die. "I have a family. I have my kids, my husband, my mom—I'm not going to make it out of here. I know how these things go." That was her last thought before they finally picked her up and put her in the bathtub before fleeing with the jewelry.

Pascal arrived soon after they ran and called the police. Kourtney, Kendall Jenner and Kris Jenner were with Kim minutes later—and everyone was understandably shaken and traumatized by what had happened. "Being woken up in the middle of the night with that call was probably one of the worst nights of my life," Kris said.

Meanwhile, Kanye West abruptly ended his concert after learning the disturbing news, and the family was on a plane back to the States as soon as the police work was completed. Kim was especially eager to see her children, North West and Saint West, once she reunited with her husband in New York City.

"I just like don't want to cry in front of the kids, or like let them think anything's wrong," she told Kanye. "Because I think it'll scare them if they start seeing more security. I just want to like see them for a second."

"It's so hard to believe that this even happened and for a trip that started off so magical it turned out to be such a terrible, terrible nightmare," Kris said.

Before the horrific incident, Kim and Kourtney had been so excited to experience all the glitz and glamour of Paris Fashion Week, getting dressed up by the designers and watching Kendall walk in the Givenchy show. "Paris means a lot to me because that's where we had all of our wedding guests come out and that's where I had my wedding dress designed at the Givenchy Couture house," Kim previously said. "That was where I have so many amazing memories."

"It's been the most devastating thing to have one of your children fear for their life, thinking at any moment they were going to die when they have two small children," Kris said. "For the rest of us, the thought of losing Kim is emotionally scarring and hard to overcome."

After living through that nightmare, Kim was grateful to just have the love and support of her family and her kids. "It's all replaceable," she said. "None of it matters."
"Just you," Khloe replied.

I don't really care for the Kardashians one way or another but no one deserves to have that happen to them. Hope she recovers her sense of security after such an incident.

They put themselves in this position by snapchatting and instagramming every second of their day and where they will be. It makes it very easy for people to use that info.

I'm glad no one was hurt.

Are you sure about that? You made a point to come into this thread and post a rather disgusting comment.

Ridiculous.

Being famous does come with certain realities. Absolutely. But you make it sound like they brought it on themselves. Which I don't agree with.

No one deserves to have a gun put up to their heads.

Your sad little stealth edit didn't do much to help your case.

Anyway, I didn't know the concierge was in on it too. That's just fucked up that he pretended to be a victim.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Not going to watch as this comes off as weirdly voyeuristic even if it's their show and life style

Why is the hatred so strong for the Kardashians? There's an infinite amount of evil in this world and its like people just really love shitting on them. Just ignore them if they're that irrelevant in your life

I think it's terrible that this happened, and being that they're a reality TV family one of my first thoughts after was "Wow, the episode with this is going to be huge." Kim Kardashian, for her personality faults, is not a bad person as far as anyone can tell from a birds' eye view and this is pretty traumatic for anyone, so I feel bad for her for this.

I don't even dislike the Kardashians, either, I think they've brilliantly marketed themselves into this immense amount of wealth despite virtually no talent at entertaining. They knew the right people and turned a moderately wealthy 1% family nto an immensely wealthy 0.0001% family, and I respect them for doing that.

People irrationally love and hate famous people, for some reason, probably mostly motivated by jealousy. It's like there's some tick in our consciousness that makes has either have to be irrationally obsessed to the point of love or irrationally obsessed to the point of hate for celebrities/famous people. Media also drives this too, which is part of what drives their fortune. Most pulp famous people (cheap, television cable fame) have media about them that is either villifying them or worshiping them, and this is like a hot and cold front colliding and making a major storm, but it's also what contributes to the celebrity's tens of millions of dollars in earnings (or more).

Yeah, I don't like the look... makes me picture producers and executives thinking up the best way to sell an episode about a gunpoint robbery. Doesn't sit well.

Honestly I didn't know it was that bad, I thought it was just a snatch-and-grab sort of thing.

I honestly think there are hints of misogyny hidden underneath a lot of the criticisms I've seen of the Kardashians. Something about an attractive set of women brilliantly marketing themselves and making careers, seems to really upset people. Some people seem really angry that Kim Kardashian made more of herself, than just being material for them to masturbate to.

I watched the clip posted above and it honestly made me tear up. I'm usually not so emotional, but imagining how she felt and the fear of not making it back to her family, made me want to cry. I'm happy for her, that she's telling her side of the story. It takes bravery and I think it will also get a lot of the mass of people who were criticizing her to shut up. It seems pretty clear she didn't make this up.

This is just ignorance. It's not even victim blaming. You clearly have no clue about the circumstances of the robbery.

I mean, she says as much in the OP

"I was Snapchatting that I was home and everyone was going to out, so I think they knew Pascal [Duvier] was out with Kourtney and that I was there by myself."

but he's still victim-blaming really. You shouldn't be afraid to ever post your whereabouts for fear that some psychopaths will kidnap a concierge and use him to break into your hotel room and duct tape your hands, feet and mouth and rob you - even if you are an international celebrity

Did they ever catch the robbers?

Yes

It was an inside job though so she was getting robbed whether she was home or not. She was just collateral damage for the inevitable crime. It's also worth noting she was already saying in a very discreet location.

A lot of it is shaming, and people can't just ignore for some odd reason.

That must be unbelievably scary to experience, especially for a woman famed for her looks since there are suddenly all kinds of other implications involved.

I hope she's doing alright, and I'm glad she's telling her story, it's a brave thing to do, but I feel weird watching it, let alone watching it as "a very special episode" of a long-running reality show

Note that Keeping up with the Kardashians was being filmed whilst this all went down - all the way back in October of last year...so what she is saying about snapchat is what she felt at the time (especially because the media were fucking assholes and blaming her for the robbery by snapchatting where she was...so she probably felt it was her fault because practically the whole world was telling her it was her fault).

It was many months later that it was uncovered by French and Belgium police that this was a massive inside job (and like I said, 17 people have now been arrested),

Oh it definitely is.

The family took something that men use to hurt women (leaking a sextape) and flipped the script. Not only did they move past the sextape, they used it to turn the family into a damn brand; their name has weight now. They now have clothing lines, perfume lines, sponsorships galore, makeup lines, shoe deals, mobile device apps/games, etc.

People wanted them/her to be in ruins after the tap so it tilts them to her basically winning despite the sextape nonsense. It's pretty much why almost all attacks on her character go back to "she has no talent she just made a sextape".

Like not only did her partner who leaked the tape not get nearly as much publicity or was able to build an empire out of it, to top it all off, instead of suing dude they basically got full rights over the tape and got back pay on all the sales they initially were denied, they even went so far as to make sure Ray J didn't receive anymore payments from it...and he's in the damn tape.

I have grievences with some of the things some of the sisters do but on the whole I have no issues with the Kardashians or their come up.

Exactly. No one should have to go through what Kim had to but the hate for her and her family is insane.

Yeah, this is all spot on. You're right that most of the attacks I've seen against them, go back to referencing the sex tape. It reads like they're trying to drag her back down, to just having been in a sex tape.

Sad it even happened. I don't care that she was showing all she had on social media, it's not right for anyone to have that happen to them.

advertising your bling that you are currently wearing on Instagram is stupid

She's Kim K. Being filmed and photographed wearing expensive shit is part of her job description. It's kinda a part of her vocation.

As if people didn't already know she was insanely wealthy?

Also, this. If I put a photo of myself wearing "X" on social media does that magically give someone the reason to rob me for "X"?

Also she's wealthy AF, obviously she will have shit to rob.

I'm sure it was very traumatic for her but there is something gross about spinning it into making even more money to me.

Maybe gross is too strong is just very unappealing to me. If I was ultra rich I would be the reclusive howard hughes type.

Absolutely. Sexism is probably the primary reason people hate Kardashian in a way that they don't hate someone like say, Donald Trump, who's fame is remarkably similar.

However, wearing 10 million dollars worth of jewelry on your body as you walk past people on the street who are literally fighting hunger is a disgusting act in itself. I'm surprised things like this don't happen more often. People will of course be angry that I said this because there is an irrational belief in the West that wealthy people earned their fortunes and thus deserve to have more than others. But, a person can condemn both excessive wealth and a violent attack at the same time.

Are you serious right now? So if she didn't do that, everyone would just believe she's a 50k/year salarywoman? Regardless, it's still victim blaming. You're finding reasons to blame the victim rather than the people that actually robbed her.

It really isn't relevant whether you like the Kardashians or not in this thread. This shit is horrific and as it certainly seems, quite traumatizing for Kim.

I'm glad to hear all the assholes involved with this were arrested though. Fuck them.

I mean...her reality show is about her life, is it not? What is she supposed to do, just not talk about this because it's going to "spin to make more money"? Really stupid thing to complain about.

Here's a run down of what the Kardashians have been through (it's a lot!). There's a reason why Keeping up with the Kardashians has now been on air for TEN YEARS..and with the show getting renewed over and over again, it seems like the show may be on air for another ten years (especially with the next generation of Kardashians getting older).

People love to watch them..the good times AND the bad times!

* O.J Simpson ("trial of the century") - Robert Kardashian as O.J's lawyer (& supposedly destroying evidence to protect O.J).

* Kris cheats on Robert Kardashian with multiple men (including rumors of a possible fling with O.J Simpson).

* Kim runs away from home as a teenager and marries a man in Las Vegas (her first marriage - later revealed her husband was beating her).

* Kim & Ray J sex tape scandal.

* Ray J/Brandy's mother (Sonja Norwood) sues the Kardashian kids for credit card fraud (Kardashian's stole Sonja's AMEX).

* Khloe arrested & jailed.

* Kardashian kids vs wicked evil stepmother Ellen Kardashian. Ellen Kardashian seeks revenge and sells Robert Kardashian's private diary to the tabloids.

* Kim & Kris Humphries 72 day marriage (Kris later files a lawsuit against Kim for defrauding him into marriage).

* 17 year old Kylie dating a 26 year old rapper (Tyga).

* Scott Disick (Kourtney's baby daddy) drug and alcohol addiction and in and out of rehab.

* Bruce Jenner kills a woman with his car.

* Khloe's real dad is O.J Simpson conspiracy theory.

* Bruce & Kris divorce after 22 years of marriage.

* Rob's massive weight gain and half decade long depression (and rumors of being bipolar).

* Khloe dumps Lamar after it's revealed he's a crack addict and is cheating on Khloe.

* Kourtney dumps Scott after it's revealed he's a cocaine addict and is cheating on Kourtney. Scott threatens suicide and is admitted to rehab for the umpteenth time.

* Kim vs. PETA (flour bombing incident).

* Rob gets with & impregnates Kardashian's enemy Blac Chyna.

* Lamar Odom drug overdose at a Las Vegas brothel (and critical condition hospitalization).

* Kim "Breaks The Internet" - models fully nude in Paper Magazine.

* Kim vs Amber Rose. Amber Rose reveals that Kim is a homewrecker (Kim was pursuing Kanye whilst he was still with Amber).

* Bruce Jenner transitions into Caitlyn Jenner.

* Kim & Kanye vs Taylor Swift ( #KimExposedTaylorParty).

* Kim robbed at gunpoint/gagged/tied up & millions of dollars in jewellery stolen whilst in Paris. Turns into a massive police investigation across multiple European countries leading to 17 arrests.

* Kim's husband Kanye's mental breakdown and admission into a psychiatric hospital.

* Blac Chyna phone hacked and texts prove she's using Rob to marry him and trademark the "Kardashian" name for her own wealth. Kim/Khloe/Kourtney immediately commence legal action to stop Blac Chyna from using the "Kardashian" name.

I am shocked they are actually making an episode of this. I suppose making a highly dramatized reality tv version of real life events is going to help her And others that have had this happen to them get over it. /s
