Atlus to announce 2017 Japan slate this Sunday

The fact that ATLUS is still going strong on 3DS makes me happy. They gave the DS a lot of support in its later years as well.

Since Atlus is involved, will wait for the updates on the following day. Still haunted by the persona 5 announcement conference.

Atlus seems used to release games later on in a console's lifecycle. We have Persona 4 as a big example, but on a smaller scale Devil Survivor 2 was released in Japan on July 21st, 2011, well before the port of the first one on 3DS (September 1st, 2011).

For 3DS, we know for sure about Radiant Historia and SMT. I doubt a classic Etrian Odyssey will be among them: IIRC, the producers said V would've been the last EO on 3DS.

It should be time for 13 Sentinels to show up again too (I'd love for a Switch version to happen, but I suppose the chances are slim due to possible development slowness of any kind).

Anyone with an idea of what could be possibly announced for PS platforms, aside from 13 Sentinels? Project Re Fantasy (platforms unknown) is extremely early (aren't they still recruiting stuff?) and certainly not 2017. The same for SMT Switch (which could be multiplatform, given the HD moniker on the website).

Even if Persona 5 Portable/Crimson/whatever was going to release on Switch they wouldn't announce it before the western release on PS4.

They said they are NOT making P5P for vita since they don't want to downgrade the game.

I like this.... but Catherine isn't a series. Wont be a sequel. Golden Playhouse could be the series.

this would be absolute kick ass. the game is a PS3 game essentially so why not?

I didn't know that. I could be another second game with a similar concept and gameplay, no matter if both games are related or not in story concept, like in SMT games in general.

I am really excited. A new Etrian Odyssey would be great, but there are so many cool things they could announce!

Radiant Historia of course.
Wada's Persona spinoff, which I think it most likely going to be another rhythm game.
Maybe SMT NEXT 3DS, although I wonder if they might do a separate SMT anniversary stream for that, plus the teaser site hasn't been updated with the stream link.

SMT NEXT HD probably won't be 2017, so not expecting much from that, same with ReFantasy which we know is still in planning phases.

I guess 13 Sentinals is a possibility, although as with the SMT game, I'd kind of expect Vanillaware to have their own event for it.

3 Games and maybe a teaser for something seems like a reasonable expectation.

Excited to see what the 3DS SMT project is.
iirc they also said they'd announce a new Persona in 2017 but it might not actually be for this year so I don't know if it will show up.
