Why do people always consider Death Note edgy? It was NEVER presented that way. It was fans who took Light as being anything, but a psychopath, but the author very much didn't try and paint him as anything, but. It was never needlessly violent or dark either, and aside from some of the choices made by the anime, I wouldn't really consider it edgy.
How do you keep the goofy ass text style on the front of the book but turn it from a standard high school notebook into some yellowed journal? That is literally the exact opposite of how I would have made those two decisions. It's actually way more stylish and weird for this demonic death book to look like a mundane object from our world
I thought it was announced that the American version was cutting out Ryuk?
Really should have been done years ago with Zac Efron as lead.

Looks good. Obviously casting isn't trying to emulate the original. L is a black dude, if you needed any further evidence (And he's an awesome actor, watch Short Term 12).
WHY we already have a manga, an anime series and a dorama with two film tie game i
What episode are you on?
Yeah, this looks like an Adam Wingard film.
Have no knowledge of the source material. What's the catch to using the note?
They pretty much could've just used Dafoes non makeupped face. His voice sounds awesome for this though.Dafoe voicing Ryuk is actually brilliant, I hope they mocapped his face.
Ty. That's completely fucking insane. Hahahaha.
I never understood why someone would touch the notebook, see the shinigami, and still voluntarily choose to turn into nothingness when they die.

Beats me lol
They should have updated this for modern times and Western audiences. It should be a smart phone or tablet that has twitter with a special profile. Whenever you tweet someones name they end up dying.

Wouldn't that be obvious though if you search the persons name on Twitter?
No offense but oh my god that's such a bad idea
