Nioh |OT2| You Can Be My Yojimbo Anytime

Okay, I'm struggling to get the CCD 15% (0 familiarity). I'm rerolling my familiarity damage bonus A+, but have only seen CCDs from 7-7.5%. For those of you with max CCD, how long did it take to roll?

Are you rerolling with a divine fragment or whatever it is? Press triangle while hovering over reforge button.

I chose to respec my level 63 character for the first time, mostly to refocus my spear build. I dumped a whole lot of stat points into body, then stamina, then spirit. I raised my magic and strength just enough to support my equipment set and my favorite spells.

Overall I'm a little bit disappointed in the results haha. I expected my spear attack and toughness to be high enough to compensate the the loss of some ranged attack and Ki.

My overall goal is to have high attack spear build, high toughness, and enough stamina to be able to wear heavy pieces of armor and still be Agility B, or medium pieces and still be A.

Am I doing it right, or am I missing out on something by continuing to focus on the above stats?

- you'll need some points into strength if you want to wear heavy and medium armor. As far as I could tell there are 2 heavy armor spear set, and 1 light armor spear set.

- get the following spear skills; pole kick, leg sweep, Tornado, Spearfall, Flying Monkey II. Some might be gated by dojo missions but work towards them.

- don't forget to update your gear.

Will be back for the dlc...when more yokai need to be iai struck.

Nice one. For the blacksmith trophy, you'll need to spend a lot of money on her and each patronage point will eventually reach a point where you'll need 200,000-300,000 gold per point. The most efficient way to farm gold is farming revenants that are 15-20 levels above you as the amount of gear they drop is dependant on the level difference between you and the revenant. Each divine sells for 15k so, if you're get 4-5 pieces, you'll make 60-70k per revenant. I would suggest the bridge of bone level for farming. If you're too high of a level, just use a book of reincarnation and you'll easily get the trophy in an hour.

Do it with the starting sword. #insanechallenge

Platinum GET (was waiting on an unknown Twilight mission). Level 750, 2 full +10 sets - which obviously need judicious re-rolls because I know I could be doing more damage. 260+ hours. It's been a long time since a game sank its hooks into me this deep. There's still stuff I want to do: farm better accessories and build up a cash & material stash for whatever the DLC brings. Extraordinary game.

How does loot drops work exactly,
and specifically with Revenants?

Are the dropped equipments randomized (type/level), exact replicas of items worn by the slain Revenants,
or related to what my character is equipped with?

Case in point: my character is equipped with the Warrior of the West set, and 90% of the Revenant drops are from the same set (albeit higher lvl/better bonuses if the Revenant is higher lvl). And I can't tell if it's because the Revenant is wearing the same set, or if the game simply wants to reward my character with upgraded set pieces.

Revenant gear is the "exact" copy of whatever they equip. Or more precisely, the exact copy of the base form of the gear, before any reforging.

And yes, 90% of the drops will be the same set because that's what popular.

Is it worth it to put-in X Ochoko cups when starting a WoS mission? Seems it adds just a minuscule effect to the end mission loot.

Just got into WoS/NG+. First time in Isle of Daemons I fought some revenants. Red Demon Armor everywhere! A bit torn since technically I didn't "work" to get these divine pieces most of which have amazing stats.

And to think I had previously just equipped some common level gear just to get my defense up. Picked up some major vibes from Monster Hunter and higher rank play.

Are you having guilt about looting revenants? I wouldn't worry about it; it's a legit avenue to gear in the game (some would say the best avenue)

I just got the platinum trophy! :) From what i counted, i only had to do 59 upgrades at the blacksmith, not 60, to get that trophy. I found the best way to grind for gold was simply to play coop in NG+. I know that there is probably a faster way to do it, to grind that one level that gives you ~110k gold in like a minute, but that would be really boring.

I feel that i'm kinda done with the game for now. I will play a bit more, going to get that Dual Sword Expert title, then i have 100% for all the weapons. I will probably try to beat NG+ as well. Took me 78 hours and 50 minute to get the platinum trophy. A good amount of playtime, well worth the price of the game :)

Just finished the game at 76 hours, all missions available in the game and dojo done, is there anyway to farm onmyo points?

Yo fuck
Yuki Onna & Nobunaga
. Legit pissing me off at this point. I've got the tactic down but crumbling when I've only got
Yuki Onna
left to defeat.

Also, my build is terrible. I've got 20 points in practically everything, but I feel like that's unnecessary now. I want to be doing beast mode damage with a Katana/Spear. Anyone got build advice? I have some books of reincarnation.

There's a certain level of satisfaction of figuring out exactly how a boss works and knowing what you need to do to beat them in Nioh that I don't think I get in Dark Souls or Bloodborne.

Beat
Hino-Enma
in my last stream by clutching it out and
dodging the divebombs and paralytic needles and staying out of melee range
, and just beat
Nue
an hour ago by
sticking close and attacking when his belly glowed during a lightning attack
. High Stance Spear FTW!

Heyo. Picked this up on the weekend and have been having a bunch of fun with it.

With that in mind, a question: did they make this a BUNCH easier from the alpha? I didn't play the beta or Last Chance. In the alpha I beat the Onryoki after like a hundred tries and the sloth talisman. This time around I beat him first try without it. Then when I got to the second mission's boss I defeated it in one try as well (although it was much closer, admittedly).

I have died a couple of times so far, but it does feel a lot easier. Did I get gooder? I'm only on the third level so far (the shrine) so maybe I'll hit the wall of fuck (and I've not done any Twilight missions yet, since I've heard they're for masochists).

I am mostly using spears and my guardian is Isonade if that makes a difference.

So what's the word on the DLC? Do we have any official release dates for them? Looking forward to playing some missions set in Aizu and seeing Tsuruga-jo.

Edit: Looks like we are getting some new high difficulty missions late this month and PVP + the first DLC late April. Seems like a fairly long wait time for the first official DLC pack. T_T

They made the first region substantially easier except for the Tachibana duel. Things ramp up a bit more difficulty wise later on but still always felt a bit easier than the alpha was. The extra missions you unlock after beating the main story missions are incredibly challenging though and NG+ can be quite the challenge too unless you build your character up to be a God.

Are there any particular stats I should be trying to roll for on my ranged weapons that would help with my close combat attack damage? Or should I just try to focus on drop%, amrita gained% and gold earned%?

According to Sanctuary (gaffer), getting Agility Damage Bonus on the Ranged weapon in your FIRST ranged weapon slot affects your melee damage as well. He did testing. I didn't bother testing it but I've been running Agility Damage Bonus on my rifle in the first ranged slot.

Other than that, no ranged weapon attributes will affect your close combat damage.

Good to know! Only Agility Bonus though eh? Interesting.

Enemy defeated bonus works as well. I tested it. It takes a while to ramp up but after about 10 kills you get more of a damage boost than an A+ agility bonus with a B agility Ranking. A agility ranking scales super well with the agility bonus though so its worth doing Agility bonus instead if you are at A rank agility.

I'm in region 4 such at the snow level with giant crystals. Fuck this disorienting level and its design. It's mostly linear but everything looks the same. I've been at this level almost 3 days now, I'll turn on the game, play for 5 mins, then put it down.

I really hope this isn't a sign of what level design to come.

If you only play for 5 mins at a time obviously you'll never build up any mental map.

Haha! Oh man can't wait for you to reach the Ninja level or the maze in the final region. Your head will asplode.

Good god, the two kings. Any advice?

Skip them, beat the game, get divine weapons, melt them.

You could also try to use the starter bird spirit or Atlas bear. They will knock them down and try to final blow them to death. The bird has a bigger range so you can reliably get them both down. Focus on Tachibana first. After he's down you can get the other. He's pretty easy by himself. Just make sure he doesn't heal or it will just drag that fight forever.

Divide and conquer. One moves clearly faster than the other. Separate them and basically fight the other while listening to the sound cues for the other. Once they are too close, create distance and rinse and repeat.

Trying to use the rock but they are just too powerful. :( never had any real troubles with any other boss. Guess the best weapon for kiting then around is the spear? Probably have to reset and redo my skillz

I've been doing a lot of Torii Gate and it's a bit frustrating. For the life of me, I'll never understand why people can't have any patience in this game. Most times I get in and they go running into a mob like an idiot and die in 5 minutes.

Co-op doesn't mean run off like god damned Rambo. I'm by no means great at this game, but they'd be better off just to stay behind me and let me clear the level.

Sorry for the rant. The 0.5 multiplier is pissing me off.

Posting in here is the first step to beating them. I used the spear, sloth, plenty of guardian spirit attacks, kunai and shuriken.

How the fuck are you supposed to beat The Two Kings when the big guy can heal himself to 100% multiple times?

Nm, I beat it.

Finished last night. Great game overall and one of my favourites of this generation. Level design and enemy variation is the biggest flaws IMO, which made this game feel like a longer experience then necessary.
This makes no sense to me. Game was one of your favorites this gen but you thought the level design was flawed?? The level design in this game was fantastic.

That's so bizarre. The way stats affect your damage output varies from level to level? Surely I'm missing something here...

Yeah it varies from level to level, but it's on a loop, for example:

3, 5, 7, 3, 5, 7, 3, 5, 7 (as you keep putting points into a stat with A+ scaling).

And unlike Dark Souls, there's no soft/hard cap so you'll keep getting 3, 5, 7, 3, 5, 7 all the way until you max the stat at 99.

YES!! Just picked up a Shiranui with CCD 15% and fire +11. I can transfer my Change To Attack (Dex) A+ to it. Build is complete, just have to max it all to +10.

Just saw Famitsu tweet that the update is happening today! Ten new missions.

holy shit, hype!

Easy expansion is a great benefit from the split mission design, compared to single connected worlds like Soulsborne.

Hoping they'll keep adding new/remixed/twilight levels, packs of 10 every couple of months until Nioh 2 hits. Could be done at a low cost by reussing assets.

This is the free update. The season pass one is in April.

Also the tweet says "10 missions 'and other stuff'" so who knows what it could have...
