Same, love when Travis Scott does it.
Rodeo is pretty much the apex of beat switches on songs. I don't see anything coming close to the execution on that album. Everything is so fluid, yet so dynamic.

Bless Yeezus era for making this a trend too.

the last thing anyone needs is for kendrick to go after drake. wouldn't that be acting like drake is somehow a comparable rapper in quality to kendrick at that point?

I agree with both of you actually

Yup this.

also sing about me -> dying of thirst is the greatest thing kendrick has done. might be overselling it a bunch but man it's good

Who the fuck pissed off Kendrick?

My thoughts.

Big Sean has been firing shots ever since the Control verse.

"And I can't lie like I like this shit like I usually do
And I'm just not impressed by you niggas rapping fast
Who sound like one big asthma attack but trash when I'm rapping it back
Who you put in your top five and claim they the savior of rap"

On Sean last album especially he was firing shots on several songs towards Kendrick. Sounds like Kendrick finally said enough is enough.

Why can't people just make a whole rap song on like one beat anymore? It's infuriating. There was the song on the last kendrick thing about levitating which had a cool beat and then transitioned into another cool beat, but I don't know why they aren't just two separate songs.

Disagree. Love it when songs evolve mid-stream.

Say what you want about Views but I loved the switch up in Grammys and Childs Play too for that matter

Even if Sean takes shots at him, Kendrick responding would be a waste of his time. Sean isn't even the best rapper his gf has slept with, while Kenny is already a goat.

Yep. Two back to back classics.

Need a Frank Ocean Kendrick track. Dont care how...just make it so.

so, since Kendrick obviously beats drake and big sean no questions asked, who's comes out 2nd: drake or big sean?

imo seems big sean obliterates drake. idk just going with your weird girlfriend rankings

One of Big Seans albums is called hall of fame tho..

I think its way more timely to be pointed at Drake

And it's consensus that Big Sean is not on the same level. Kendrick wouldn't dare especially with his vigorous attack in the song saying he's the best in the game.

And while clearly Drake isn't the best in the game, he's #1 numbers wise by far. Not really fair cuz he's transcended just a hip hop audience but that's a whole other conversation.

It's at Drake for sure!

He says "Hoe, Jay Z's Hall Of Fame, sit your bitch ass down"

That's right at Drake with all drakes subs in his recent music.

Woooooo

The famous Control song where Kendrick goes off was the promotional single for Big Sean Hall of Fame album.

However the song was left off the final album and people said that Big Sean got embarrassed by getting destroyed on the track which is why he left it off although im sure thats not the exact reason why it didnt make it.

one year and a few months ago we were starving

amazing to see where we are now

"Sorry for not releasing the album at all this year lel have this free track"

*mediocre as fuck trap beat*

It's just a freebie to hold us over, bless him even if it's trash. Relax y'all, it's not gonna be on the album.

"GOOD Fridays back follow me on snapchat"

WEW SHIT...wait that's it?

Ye GAF, no more Ls goddamn it.

Why would Kendrick be mad at that in any way? All of hip hop shut down after Control. Kendrick accomplished exactly what he wanted with that.

I think its a stretch, seems more plausible to me to be Drake. Who knows

Just like Drake said though nobody was talking about that verse weeks later

I think Kendrick is more upset that Sean has been steadily throwing slick shots and lines towards him since then and keeps denying it when confronted by the media or anyone else.

Sean last album "I Decided" has a few tracks (Me, Myself, and I, No More Interviews, and others) where it sounds like he is dissing Kendrick. Several websites even questioned him about the lines on those songs and he keeps reverting to the "oh they arent about anyone".

Thats why I think this is about Sean when Kendrick mentions tip-toeing around saying his name.

I could also see how the lines are just general lines and not at anyone in particular.

Also the last line "have til April 7 to get your shit together

That's drakes chorus on Get It Together on More Life

Cmon people!
