I'm ending up retreading where I've been since I got off the plateau. I missed so much because I was climbing stuff and just gliding to my destinations lol. I'm almost at the point where I dont feel like I'm exploring the unknown anymore :(

I'm still discovering a ton of things though 80+ hours in

That worked for me. Feel like top poacher killing these rare sentient creatures for their parts (their death animation is so dramatic lol) so im just going to beat the game with the Barbarian set.
I doubt anyone else feels this way about videogame creatures haha

So basically don't get hit and having low defense doesn't matter?

That's one of the things that made Hyrule Castle great. You weren't required to explore all of it. I hope the next game's dungeons use it as a base. Give me five or six dungeons like that, with unique enemies and a huge boss at end of each one, and you have the perfect BotW follow-up.
Ehh, I wouldn't want that. I want designed, puzzle based dungeons. Not just exploration based. And each needs to have a unique art style, even if that means going subterranean or to another dimension or whatever. I want to feel like I'm lost, not like I'm part of some connected world. I want the game to be just like BOTW otherwise though.

This game even realizes that ancient arrows are such a big cheese that when you use them then the game doesn't even give you loot.

I was using them in a test of strength and they didnt seem to be doing all that much damage? I was shooting them in the eye too. What am i missing?

But how can there be loot if you're disintegrated them?!

They don't work as usual in the ToS because they'd make it not much of a test. They just deal decent damage but its a waste to use them in there as they don't have the same effects as instagibbing a Guardian in the overworld.

Been stuck doing errands and working on stuff all day, which hasn't stopped me from thinking about the game and planning what to go explore next.

Just noticed a strange bug/limit. I decided to take some photos of my gear, so I tossed it all out of my inventory and realized that you cannot have more than 11 on the ground at a time. If you put out more they disappear, starting with whatever you put out first.

Ugh, I just used an Amiibo for the first time(SSB Link) and got a good horse. The only problem is that I'm on the island that has the Medium Test of Strength Shrine.

Is there a way to get the horse off the island?

which island? you may be able to get a raft there

edit: i actually have no idea if horses can even get on a raft...

Anyone else dissapointed that the
tunic of the wild/OG link tunic with brown that you get after completing the shrines
wasn't featured more prominently in the game? Fits the style so well and really turns on the nostalgia like nothing else.

Huh, I didn't know that's how you get it. I was wondering, haha. I don't rally want it honestly, the screenshots I saw made it look awful.

Well, there are 2 versions. The other
you get from one of the Link amiibos and is even more true to the original, like in your avatar

Champion Link was supposed to be the default look of Link in this game.

It actually looks good.

Well yea I know, and I understand the probable reasons behind that decision, I just really like
the NES/SNES Link character style, lol. Fits the game here too, imo, stylisticly

That being said, I do like the Champion Link look

Got the game two days ago, been playing non stop. Gosh I absolutely love this new direction of Zelda.

Just beat my first divine beast and now doing a bunch of sidequests. These feel moments though T>T

Had a weird thought while playing today.

If all these shrines are really just elevators to a giant room below...how messed up would Hyrule's underground look like...

lol I never gave that a thought. My "weird" thought regarding shrine elevators was more along the lines of "this reminds me of Metroid so much."

No botw is not switch Zelda
We will have our switch Zelda hopefully in 3 years

I doubt we'll see another Zelda of this scale on the Switch. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some other takes on the series though. I wouldn't mind a new top down Zelda with the kind of fidelity afforded by the Switch.

I hope we get to see the Majora's Mask to BOTW. More claustrophobic at perhaps 1/3 the overworld size of BOTW but even more hand crafted. Deeper, longer, and more produced quests with cutscenes and specific music themes. Colorful characters and world that can be more bizarre and obtuse.

Didn't I read here that the director worked on the Oracle games? They are a more 2D version of what I'm thinking in tone actually.

So which Lynells are the ones with the cool AI? All the ones I've fought so far have just been spongy big enemies.
Yeah, I don't get the AI comments either. They have cool and interesting attack patterns, but they feel fairly simple in nature. Like, not too complex or sophisticated. They're just stupidly overpowered (but not in an unfun way).

This game succeeds at a lot, but the horse system is just terrible. It makes Roach and D-Horse look god tier in controls.
I thought so at first, but I totally overreacted to how bad they are when you first catch them. They shape up really quick, and after that they have decent use. I still usually go on foot, but they have their use.

After all the press and hype for the "intelligent horses" I was really looking forward to get one ASAP. Nope. They simply aren't fun, except for the initial sneaking up and taming. Red Dead Redemption still is king.

Played for a few hours on the Wii U. Like a lot of things, don't like some. The weapon breaking this is definitely annoying.

But the worst part about this game is easily the framerate. I've never been one of those people that complains about stuff not being 60fps or whatever, but holy shit, in this game, the framerate gets terrible and it happens all the time. Just running around the forest or a village and it becomes a slideshow. I know it's pushing the hardware here, but geez.

I thought people misunderstand the horse
It can't go and climb anywhere like link himself
It only follow the "road"
You don't even need to control it that much

I just kinda collect horses and then never use them out of fear of getting them hurt. Actual spoilers:
Yes, I did unlock the horse resurrection NPC, but still.
