The CFN beta is this week, right? Wish I had a decent PC. I think they indicated at least some of the balance changes would be present in it as well.

I went up 1100 points once the maintenance was done. I don't complain much but I knew I was getting screwed for a while haha

No fucking way the servers will work properly. I love Capcom, I love me some SFV, but the influx of a F2P rate of people coupled with the stress of new servers for any beta means we probably won't be getting in for the first few hours, let alone getting decked with errors. Like, I'm not mad about that or anything because it's a beta, but don't fool yourselves.

Then again, this month has been pretty damn surprising so...

It's a free open beta so I expect there to be lots of issues. It's what they can learn from the beta, and how they apply that knowledge, that'll make all the difference.

They toned down things with each beta, so I'm assuming any changes here will be nerfed as time goes forward

I don't think they are doing anything more than just the listed patch notes.

So we probably won't be getting that new FANG move found in the files.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't just make it his v reversal.

But yes they should give it back to him because it's a fucking spiral ddt.

Of course there will be some issues and I have no doubt that certain people will still moan and complain that a *beta* is not working properly. Smh.

I'm fully expecting the new beta to not work at all from 6pm pacific time until 11pm. People will be downloading it and logging in, making new accounts etc and it'll run like SFV did on day one :(
 
If it hopped fireballs and hit crouching, it would be great.
Birdie's EX command grab dive is basically what EX spiral DDT should have been in SFV. I was most hyped about DDT coming back tbh since I knew from the very beginning how important a fast diving grab can be in any fighter. Also, it has really great looking animation. I was disappointed that it didn't come back, but stun gun headbutt coming back in the form of a special is something I can't hate on.

That's kind of the issue with bringing back the DDT is that Stun Gun Headbutt already fills that niche. I guess they could drop the damage on SGH and have very little stun on the DDT so you'd be choosing between damage now or future, bigger damage.

That's true, but I do think we should treat each Beta seperately as they could potentially improve on what they learnt. They released a beta netcode in the previous CFN so I assume they learnt from that.

Yeah, this is why I don't realistically expect it to come back unless they really tweak with some of his tools. I also agree that it should have just been his V-Reversal, but it's too late for that now.

Actually, you know what they could do? After heavy chop, give him the option to use Backdrop with punch buttons and DDT with kicks. Backdrop switches sides and the DDT could leave them on the same side.

I'd be up for either option. The more unique animations the better.

Stun Gun sort of covers that ground, but not entirely. It doesn't cause knockdown, or give oki and it takes a long time to finally reach the opponent who can easily stuff it. A faster, improved spiral DDT could give him a stronger and less gimmicky mid range game than his stomps or headbutts imo.

It's her hardest probably.

get a good jump and try to be unpredictable on your approach with dash jumps I think. Use buttons like cr. mk to intercept him on button/booms. v-skill is unreliable against a booming guile which is all of them if they have a brain so avoid most of the time.
Vega vs Kolin is pretty bad too, he beats her hard in neutral. Can punish hands, fireball and VSkill regardless of spacing, they can't be made safe against him, and even if you do close EX fireball he can punish while moving away from the falling icicles. He can walk back from all her throw techs, and is one of the best characters at dealing with her dashes. I fucking hate that match up.

Edit: also you can't punish his VSkill and Forward HP unless you have a super because even though EX hands reach, he just fall out of it sometimes before the last hit and get a full punish. :(
 
Producer/Shackzam I need yall for the Chun/Rog MU later if either of you are available.

I've only played 1 Chun not counting Producer since S2 started lmao

Man, I feel so odd about SFV Akuma. On the one hand, I wish he some more defensive zoning to make him a real jack-of-all-trades character. On the other hand, he animates so well and everything about him looks great. Even the flower hair grew on me. Though I still prefer the gameplay of USF4, SFxT, 3S, and CVS2 Akuma.
