Pokémon Go |OT 3| "No Officer, I'm a Passenger"

I have so bad luck with magikarp. Caught 400 and the best was 89% IV. During the event I haven't found a single one above 82%

I don't know why people stress over IVs so much. Gyrados is a garbage fighter that's only good becuase he can easily be bumped out to 2800+ CP. You drop him on a high-level gym and forget about it. It doesn't really matter whether his IV is 70% or 90%.

Evolved the 97% Magikarp I caught months ago, then later in the evening I caught a 2200 CP Gyarados in the wild, about time I have strong Gyarados'

Managed to complete my bucket list for this event.

- Went on a 'Karp binge today to rack up the remaining 200 candy I needed to evolve a Gyarados. Even had enough left over to boost its CP to the max.
- Spotted a Lapras spawn on a local tracker map and hailed a cab to take it down from across town.
- Evolved a Poliwrath, Omastar, Slowbro, Cloyster; caught a wild Totodile from a lure while I was eating lunch; caught a Kabuto so I can start making a dent in that line.
- Found a Blastoise in the wild with 90%+ IVs.
- Made a decision on where to spend my sole King's Rock; went with Politoed as I have yet to run into any decent Slowpokes. Don't want to waste my precious evo items on anything less than Amazing 'mons. Down to only needing that 2nd King's Rock and a Dragon Scale to complete my lineup.
- Hit Level 23, boosted my dex up to 161. Still slow going on candy for my Pupitar as I've only hatched two Larvitar thus far. I've walked over 62 kilometres with him in my buddy slot over the past month so at least I'm getting exercise.

If nothing else, it's been pleasant to be Swinub-free for the past week. It's back to reality on that front tomorrow.

To get higher in gyms. Obviously.

But the higher the IVs the higher the CP. That's all that matters to me.

Any above-average one is going to 2800+, though. Waiting around for something with near-perfect IV doesn't do you much good when you could be earning with one that you already heave.
Yeah. I got a 89% at lvl 27 today. So I said screw it. Got Bite/Hydro pump again. Quite happy since it's already 2500CP fron scratch.

Water event was nice for me, managed to catch almost all water Pokémon from Johto. Only one I missed is Corsola (that's gen 2 right haha?).

Corsola is a regional spawn so unless you live somewhere near the Equator, you won't be able to find one.

The event has been kind of a bust apart from my shiny Gyarados.

Only 2 Totodiles.

With a Shiney, I would hardly say this event is a bust for you :p

Also, do you live in a desert biome? So weird for you not to see Totodiles. I fully evolved 1 at the start and easily now have enough for halfway (without using Pinap berries anymore)

I have no idea what it is. Whatever kind of biome an average, small English town is recorded as.

My home town is full of water Pokemon, so I should probably go and visit my parents more often.

Lvl. 10 gyms around here have 3000+ cp Pokemon at the bottom. Then there are the double accounts that take 1000 prestige off to put their own in. There are spoofers that take down his or her own gym to push out weak Pokemon. The meta can be very cutthroat. I imagine it's even worse in a metropolitan area.

So is Niantic just pretending that the Go Plus accessory is working perfectly?

Can keep it synced for maybe an hour tops before it just disconnects, then can't reconnect it even after going through all the resetting steps.

Samsung phone on latest firmware.

Water event was nice for me. Got enough candies for evolving the Johto water Pokémon, I have enough for a Feraligatr, evolved 2 Gyarados, got my shiny Magikarp (I've been looking hard for another one to no avail) and I think the only downside, apart from no Dratini, is that it has taken a toll on my inventory, I have about 130 pokeballs left and almost no berries.

Finally caught a high IV magikarp on the last day of the water event! My first gyrados.. going to have to spend a fortune in candy/stardust to raise it from 1218 CP though :(

I live in a water biome and haven't found a single totodile during the event.

Got about 400 magikarp and 100 omanyte candy so that's cool.

Couple questions....

What Pokémon can be dittos? Potentially any? Or is it the more common types?

Now that the water event is done do they shiney Magicarp go away too or are they forever in the game now?

This was a damn good event for me

Before, water spawns weren't all that common and I never saw Shellder, Omanyte, or Seel spawns beyond some recent (much needed) nests in my area. With the festival, I got dozens of Karp, Psyducks, Tentacools, and the rest.

The biggest standout by far is the cp970 Omanyte with tier 1 IVs.

The biggest disappointment is a tie between a garbage Lapras spawn (the only one for the entire event!!11!) and a cp648 Totodile with meh IVs (Which I'm still keeping because reasons ...).

I could've caught so many more Karp, but between my internship, school, and other commitments, 260 candies is all I could muster. But it 260 less kilometers I have to walk for my 2nd Gyarados, so that's a net profit there.

Edit: Mass transferred out 90 Karp, now have 3 with tier I IVs.

i wish the event lasted longer. Why do they start it on a wednesday for a week?
We only get 1 weekend to play.
Didnt get any shiny magikarp, no lapras, and still looking for my first totodile.
Maybe I didnt play enough i dunno.

I got my fourth Frost Breath/Ice Beam Lapras (only moveset I've ever rolled!) from this event.

But this one actually had good IVs. The CP is a modest 1227, but that is still the biggest I've ever had. Also caught a Rock Smash/Dynamic Punch Poliwrath (with good IVs to boot)! The candies and water spawns were nice.

The biggest missed opportunities were a lack of Totodile catches and no Qwilfish in the Pokedex.

I saw the latter twice on radar, but I wasn't able to go after it. It seems pretty rare.

The event overall was a modest success for me. I already live by a water biome, but adding Qwilfish and Omastar to my dex was nice, and I'm almost to 600 karp candies. Just gonna wait for either a shiny or near perfect IVs till I evolve. Only missing Aerodactyl, Hitmonlee, and Muk for the Kanto dex, and I'm walking with Grimer for that. 68 for Johto.

#FirstWorldProblems: The end of the event brought diversity back, so now I have a problem: I found a weak Blissey, 1200 CP and 1900 Stardust. This means I'm now at 46 Candy and I'm getting really close to evolving a 1200 CP, 5000 Stardust Chansey with better IV. So now the question is: pump everything in the weaker Blissey, or kill the Blissey and evolve Chansey but lose the living Pokédex.

Eventually everything will have a shiny. No use going insane obsessing over nabbing the first one. That's just a path to ruin.

Magikarp in any case is one of the few I care about. And even then it is more about Shiny Gyriados.

Lose the living pokedex. At some point, there will be more Pokémon than there is available storage space especially if you take forms into account and if you keep multiple good/rare monsters. You'll have to make that decision at some point anyway, so now is as good a time as any. Plus you get a high IV Blissey out of it :)

Loved the Water event so much since I live in a desert biome.
Managed to push my Johto dex to 58 after being stuck in the 20s for a while, also Kanto dex is now at 133.
Hope we get something like this in the near future for Grass type.

Also got super lucky with my recent 7 day PokeStop spin:

C8HVz_MWsAAfeQF.jpg

That makes 4 evo items for me:
Upgrade on my 1st 7 day PokeStop spin after the launch of Gen II: Just got Porygon2 after walking it 85 Km.
Sun Stone after they made it a guarantee to get one on the 7th day: Got Sunflora.
Metalcoat on my recent 7 day spin: Got a Steelix.
Dragon Scale: I'm at 70 Horsea candy, waiting for the next double candy event to exchange all the Horseas I caught this event.

I'm halfway through Level 28 : )

Hatched another Phanphy, so I'll get a Donphan with a bit of buddy walking.

Starters, Ampharos, and Tyranitar projects are all ongoing.

I just caught my first Phanpy this morning actually. I was pretty excited to see him pop up.

I've finished all the Starters for Gen 2. But still have yet to see a Mareep or Larvitar.

My Donphan currently at 2633CP. I'll removed him as a buddy. Gonna keep leveling when I hatch more.
Unfortunately I don't have the feeling it's any good.

I hatched a Chansey! This is my 2nd Chansey to hatch, 1st was back in like August. Used it to level up my Blissey to 2300s. Need to hatch a few more to get it up a bit.
