Lol. Won a gift card for a site that sells books and games. Ordered Persona 5. Now it says 'cancellation requested' under status and the game dissapeared from the site. Yay. Guess I won't play Persona 5 for now :/

Amazon was supposed to ship mine out Mar 31. Then it switched to saying "Shipping soon" for 3 days. I think they have a different definition of "soon" than I do.
I'm not terribly worried yet as they always seem to ship mine the day before (I must be close to a warehouse in SoCal), but if they know they're going to do that, they should just say "Ships Apr 3" instead of making me nervous every time.

mine changed to "Versand wird vorbereitet" now.
I'm still getting "Versand erfolgt in Kürze"... This "Kürze" (short while) is taking almost 24 hours now.
But I'm happy for you! It's cool to see that most people seem to be able to play the game on launch day.
on which screen are you? the one tracking the "package" or the overview page of all ordered goods? The later changed to Versand wird vorbereitet recently. Before it was just Noch nicht versand.
My order history simply says "Vorbestellt" while the tracking page says "Versand erfolgt in Kürze". Anyway, I'm back to hitting refresh
like i said, dhl/hermes usally ships the next day,

People uploading images of their copies they got days/weeks ahead of the release date is kind of frustrating for those of us who are legit concerned we won't even get ours the day we should.

It's offical! Amazon is actually shipping it!!!!
Something must've happened to these TYHE orders that triggered such a late shipping...
Amazon upgraded me to 1 Day shipping, so the delivery date is now Tuesday. But they claim it is backordered.
Should stop saying release date delivery if they cant do it half the gorram time
Something similar happened to my friend with the Switch and it ended up being perfectly fine. They did in-store pick up though.

Apparently they've just shipped it out and it's arriving Monday? I've never had Amazon deliver anything before street date, this is weird. And they're shipping via USPS (which I hate), which I've also never seen. Well at least it's on its way, though now I have to wait a day to play it until the JP audio download shows up.

It's still only "Versand wird vorbereitet " (preparing dispatchment), but it should be fine if they dispatch it sometime today.
Btw. Persona 5 is the number one bestseller in video games at amazon.de

aaahh I can't decide whether to get back to my new game plus of the JP version or to buy the English version! Watching videos on youtube is making me want to play it again. The translation and voice acting are far better than expected. It still feels like a slight step down from P4 but it's still really, really good.

I'm really curious to see if we ever get European sales numbers for P5. Maybe if it sells enough, it'll convince Atlus to invest more into Europe.

Well the last interview said that their new priority was Asia, so...
imo I'm doubtful. I see AtlusUSA in the same vein as XSEEDGames. They got a US office of their own but little or no presence in the UK.
AtlusUSA to me feels like a pretty small team that's doing their own projects/3rd party stuff etc and just like XSEEDGames, they don't have enough manpower/capital to expand to overseas territory and usually have to rely on European partners to help them with the distribution and what's not (e.g XSEEDGames->Marvelous Europe)
Of course, now that AtlusUSA is under the umbrella of SEGA the possibility might have been increased a bit, but I don't think we will see that drastic of a change for the time being.

Europe has been getting about the same treatment as NA with P5 now anyway, maybe even more with recent event presence and the earliest reviews being UK publications.
I had to take a double-dip when I read that line. Hiraoka seems to tell everyone the same thing, but he actually followed this one up and localized P5 into Chinese.
There's also a considerable chance that it would have been exclusive to their online store.
Japan's been treating the Taiwanese market as one of their biggest in recent years. Some stuff like Falcom's Trails of Cold Steel 2 even managed to receive a localized Chinese version on the same date of release as the Japanese version.
Though still small, China is starting to emerge as a market that's worth tapping into as well...as long as they loosen up on the rules and regulations imposed on video games and stuff, the potential is massive.
I've heard about that, yes. By the way, is there any censorship in the Chinese version? I think I've heard somewhere that skeletons are usually censored in Chinese media.

Since it'll be a long, long while before I get to play any of P5, I'm unsubbing for a while guys. Just hurts :/

The free ones are no longer up. There should be some paid ones going up with the game's release though.
I'm pretty sure all the P5 themes have been limited releases. I currently have 4. Ryuji was up for like a day. Morgana was a PSX reward that went up for free accidently, Joker is a preorder incentive, and Yusuke was just offered for free. Not sure if that one is still up.
