Nioh |OT2| You Can Be My Yojimbo Anytime

Is there a way to see what I have left in a region? And what is needed to complete them? I mean the meter isn't full after completing all missions and finding all kodamas. Is it a hot spring left or something?

Hot springs don't count.

You might need to do the dojo missions

Seriously get over yourself, if you cant understanding the basic concepts of distance and observation, you dont have any business talking about good boss design.

Okay so now your just acting like a jackass. Great. Just great. How about you get over yourself?

Edit: And yeah, I get it. I was getting a little worked up. Cause I was trying and trying to beat it. And eventually I did. So yeah maybe I was a bit hot headed. I'll admit that. But you... Instead of trying to cool things down you just throw gasoline on the fire. Good job?

LOL

People find different things difficult (also greatly varies on build/gear loadout), that's all my post says about anything. Your own attitude, however, does say a fuckton about you.

Yeah but that's not what you said. You said that she was a harder fight. Period. You can't go back on your own statement and then insult me for reading what you didn't write. If you had said that you found other bosses harder, than I wouldn't have any response, cause you're right. People find different stuff harder. But you didn't say that.

Hino-Emma is an exercise in greed and counterattacks, or more specifically she teaches players to not be greedy and to bait for the counter attacks.

Are you kidding me with this? What do you think "X is harder than Y" means? It means that I think that X is harder than Y. Just because I didn't preface it with "in my opinion, and this is totally subjective, and I'm saying this because I surely don't want overly hot-headed butthurt posters to think I am being unreasonable, X is harder than Y".

Quite precious that you tell Gwyndolin to get over themselves. Your attitude is ridiculous.

My attitude? Yeah maybe my attitude could be better but your not having a better one yourself. Also no that's not how it works. I can say "Blood-starved beast is harder than Cleric Beast," and that's true, the former is harder than the latter. That's how you phrased your statement and how you came across when you posted.

There's a difference between: "This boss is harder than this boss" and "I think this boss is harder than this one." And in your context, no, you didn't imply that it was your opinion.

Hell, if you think that is the case. That's fine. It's completely your prerogative to do so. Don't act like your taking the high route when your just as low.

But I'm done. This conversation is going to go nowhere and it's clear at this point that whatever is said will make things worse.

Edit: For what it's worth, I'm sorry that this argument happened in the first place and reconigze I came in with the wrong attitude.

Also looks like he's done until the DLC hits! At least the wait won't be long. Hope I can finish Persona 5 before that comes out... this train doesnt stop...

Yeah, goddamn this year. Just played first 5 hours of Persona 5 last night and just like Nioh and Zelda this year, it immediately entered my the top 5 games of all-time.
While FromSoft disappointed with their weak latest DLC, I'm placing my hopes on Team Ninja now that they can deliver more meaty and better experience.
Bit off-topic I guess but I've entered gaming nirvana.

The missions added in free patch, were they all challenge mode boss duels or is there anything with new map to explore?

We already discussed this, it's should be three Umi-bozu :D

Make that 4 so they can shoot that OHKO laser from all directions.

Wow congrats. Took me ages. It's my favourite title in the game.

Yeah there are 10 high difficulty missions scattered across most of the regions. Wave based arena combat missions, double boss missions and wave based arena missions that end in double boss fights. Very fun and challenging free update.

I imagine the date masamune dlc, which is coming at the end of this month, will add a new region for us to explore.

Its not my job to babysit you.

If you asked for help here, like many others have since alpha... i'd have probably just reposted one of my "Hino-Enma Strategy" posts from beta/OT, of which there are many cause ya'know most people just ask for help.

You came in moaning about a boss with bad design, then said "its not me, its the game", then proceeded to complain about issues which can be overcome with basic common sense.
You didnt need help, you needed a reality check.

Haha thanks! It is definitely my favorite title by far cause man did it put you in the zone. I actually remember you posting a pic of getting that title a week or two back and remember thinking "holy shit, that's amazing. I'm never getting this probably." Narikama Tanuki + 4 pieces of the Yagyu Garb(extended parry animation) made this muuuuch more doable. I would've probably done it on first try if I had Tanuki as my Guardian Spirit; Tanuki is an absolute GODSEND for this title for real. The fight took me a good 10-20 minutes though lol.

Got only the The Return of the Gourd crushing left in Agyo list and am not looking forward to it. Those damn pesky shooting revnants.
Edit: ughhh fuck this crushing lol. I keep getting tagged once by revs. Must exercise greater patience.

...I think there is some misunderstanding here but you don't lose days or weeks of progress in these games. It's simply, incredibly not possible.
I recognize that. I played Demon's and Dark Souls. I just mean maybe I have one hour to play during the whole work week. If in that one hour I make it to a boss and die for an hour, unable to progress, that is a huge waste of time for me. It makes me think I should have done something else instead.

Progress is not measured only in how many levels or checkpoints you advance, how much loot you get or how much your numbers go up. The improvement in your personal ability to play the game is also an important measurement of progress.

Does that have the music like the preorder theme?
Yeah different music compared to the preorder theme

https://youtu.be/-LYLRHDpHzw

https://youtu.be/srst0ViXxhk

Is that an actual theme on PSN or just somebody's screen shot made into a custom background?
Actual theme on PSN, got this theme free for preordering from Amazon UK and it seems you can download that theme free from US PSN according to description of that first YouTube link above

Legit surprised we haven't heard anything new about the Dragon of the North DLC.
Hope that exact release dates and some details drop soonish like the next 2 weeks maybe?
We already discussed this, it's should be three Umi-bozu :D
The thing about Umi Bozu is that the true endboss isn't him but that shitty arena you have to fight in.
In other words the DLC "Ocean of Salt" will feature you fighting against UmiBozu on 10cm^2 wooden pedestal surrounded by water.
Of course he retains his laser beam.

Holy shit I leave for a few days and the thread has seen a major meltdown. Guess I get to read some stuff.

Yeah thread drama ha ha.

Surely the measure of worth should be in enjoyment rather than some arbitrary measure of progress in a game. If you fought a boss for a few hours and were enjoying the challenge and the fight isn’t that time well spent?

Anyway, the game is not back-to-back bosses and most of the level is exploration and in that it’s even more lenient than souls. There is an item you can use to recover your “souls” from your grave instantly and there are numerous shortcuts to unlock. Not to mention the main campaign is not that hard anyway.

Can see what people meant about the game being a bit on the long side. I'm near the end
just about to fight Kelley
, but it seems to be dragging on.

Actual missions with new bosses and story, the dual boss fight missions they've added are just free extra missions.

OK, good, I'll probably get it then. The dual boss missions don't do it for me. I can beat them, but I don't enjoy them. If it was a bunch more of those I was going to pass on it.

If you go for 100% mission completion it drags a bit. Some of the sub-missions are pretty redundant and the recycled bosses are kind of meh. I think it would be feel less long with a bit more enemy variety.

That's something that really lets the game down. I completed the main game & dojo missions in 40hrs, but I had cut down my time with it after getting to the
fourth region
. You've seen most of what the game has to offer by that point excluding bosses.

Honestly, we know next to nothing beyond that it involves Masamune Date, and we get a whole bunch of new stuff, and that it'll be out in the end of April.

I think we actually at least know there is 1 new weapon type and not of the axe/hammer type but something with supposedly it's own skilltree.

Anyone else noticed the game randomly bringing up the menu since the patch? Sh*t just got me killed against N
obu and the Dark
Samurai just as I was about to finish the DS. Really raging right now.

I haven't noticed anything like this. Not even once.

I love now that I have Ninjitsu so built up, I can basically Spam bosses Shruikens and Kunai and basically take half their health if not more.

It’s happened a couple of time recently but this time was really bad. On my second attempt at this fight I was flying high and doing so well. I had DS down to low health and this crap happens. Of course I was pressing buttons at the time so it goes into inventory and stuff and I died pretty quickly after that. On my next attempt I was so agitated by it all I didn’t even make it passed the revenants. I was so mad I was thinking that was it for me playing that game (that didn’t last long). If it’s just me then maybe it’s my controller or something.

I just couldn’t face doing that fight again so I tried the two ninjas and, like, wtf is that? I feel like that’s the worst double encounter of them all so far. Between that and the previous thing my evening was going downhill fast ha ha.

While you are of course logically correct in arguing that enjoyment is the important aspect, and that's how I should measure the worth, I just have trouble with that due to my schedule and the number of games I want to play; I tend to focus on games I know I can beat with less time invested.

So, I played through the main story, but what now? I want to do the rest of the side-missions and twilight missions now, but not without knowledge about smithing and skilling my character properly.

1. I skilled my character without any real plan. Had no real problems playing through the game regardless. Any good beginner guides about skill point allocation and what techniques to put points into?

2. I know shit about smithing. Never used it. I have like 2m Coins left. I read something about divine weapons. Any guides for that?

FightinCowboy's "Nioh Beginners Guide - 6 Helpful Tips"

I don't know if it's the 'best', but I thought it was good. He devoted a good portion to talk about Blacksmithing at the end.

Blacksmithing may seem intimidating in the beginning but it's very easy to learn when explained... Unless you're name is Brandon Jones =P

Anyone has some good links for 1.06 builds I'm especially interested in the necessary gear setups for them. Feeling a bit lost. Just recently did all the new 1.06 missions with my old build. I've seen some things like the shuriken and axe spinner one but I'm unclear on the gear requirements and optimal stat rolls.
I did almost finish my 750 grind though those rajintai things that give 100 mil amrita are great! 13 levels left.

Have had my eyes on this game for a few days now. Best Buy currently has it on sale for $39.99 ($31.99 if you have GCU). Just ordered it. Ready to finally play it.

Woof finally beat the game after 100% everything in the main game.

Maybe one day I'll go back and beat Way of the Strong but Zelda is a'calling.

I don't know wich twilight mission I'm missing but it's seriously pising me off x)
My last trophy is the 'complete all mission' one but I can't seem to find my last (or last 2) missions.
I get that it changes everyday, but does that mean I have to actually login everyday to see the changes? Or it's like if I connect at least a day later the missions will change?

I'm not sure if I'm clear here :/

I didn't get you. <.<

They change at specific time in the day, so you have to check daily.
