My memory of that time is Patrick saying "Sony is 100% going to do the same thing, they're going to announce it, like, in an hour" and "Sony didn't build the architecture for shit DRM into the PS4, and therefore can't do the same thing ever" at the same time and failing to see the contradiction.

GB is pretty bad when it comes to the business side of things. I wish people would realise that and don't take everything they say for granted. Newest example is the 3DS. Jeff saying Nintendo should abandon the 3DS ASAP makes no business sense at all.

What are the best F&40s setups? Have the podcast in the ears while having the movie in the background silent? I have open headphones so that I could hear a little bit of movie sound from the TV but I am not sure if it's loud enough.

I just use open headphones with speakers on the podcast. Muting the movie is a bad idea considering that they riff on the dialogue constantly.

Eh, I mean...

I'm preeeetty sure that some kind of scheme like that must have been in the books for Sony as well, and that it was mostly everything exploding around MS giving them the opportunity to position themselves the way they have.

That was pretty smart of them, definitely. But it's not like Sony really generally gives a shit about being "consumer friendly" or anything. They were just cautious enough to quickly adapt to the way the wind was blowing.

But yeah. Hindsight does make that pretty funny. :)

There is a persona thread you could go to, tho.

You dont see me talking about warhammer miniatures here. If I have to message a mod for clarification I will, but if there are people who dont want to sift through 100 posts of Persona in order to talk about GB, then its fair to take that conversation to its proper thread.

I get Persona is a hot game, but really this is the GB thread. Theyre not playing the game nor doing an ER. If even one person is annoyed at the p5 talk, then its fair to give that talk a rest or move it to its proper thread.

i'm not going to push the point, but conversation is as conversation is. if nobody in gb-gaf shows interest in p5 talk then it will die, and if people from gb-gaf are interested in p5 talk than it will live.

If you can do basic video editing, I found the best way was to rip the blurays and add the podcast as an additional audio track. Easier to ensure there are no sync issues and you can mix/adjust audio levels to your own preference. It's a little bit of work but worth the effort imo.

I think I will finally break into Persona after work though.


I will be too damn tired for Horizon. Turn based action and acid jazz seems like what I need.

I actually thought of that but I have no bluray drive for my PC, haha.
But that would probably be the best method. I will ask around friends if they hav one. Not really stressed with this, seems like I can enjoy it whenever.

I don't know about best, but I had the movies with subtitles on the TV (at a fairly low volume) and podcast playing through my laptop's speakers. Worked well enough for me.

Though i could probably start a new topic reminiscing old Bombcasts constantly because that's all i listen to at work. It's kinda psychotic.

I enjoy Yakuza but the fact I actually have to pay attention to it because of subtitles really brings down its watchability

the slow realisation I consume almost 80% of GB content while doing something else entirely...

Please help, I played around 30 hours of persona from friday to sunday, can't stop.

Regarding game talk in the thread, I see valid arguments from both sides.

Talking about current games with other GB community members has always been a staple of this thread and it's part of what makes it fun, but on the other hand, if we have dozens of posts including multiple spoiler-tagged ones, then maybe it's time to take it to the respective thread.

Not everyone likes / feels like reading about whatever game is being discussed and they shouldn't really have to do it in a mostly unrelated thread.

If it's something related to ongoing GB content then I think there could be more leeway, but otherwise I think a bit of restraint is welcome - which doesn't mean people shouldn't talk about games in general (I like doing that myself), obviously.

I mean, I watch it while playing Granblue (which is like 80% waiting for your party to go through their skill queue) or while eating, but yeah I can't play a game with it in the background or anything like that.

If you were smart you would send Vinny Warhammer miniatures and then no one could stop anyone from talking about them.

Ha, I do the exact same thing.
I have Beast in the East on 1 monitor and Granblue/chats and stuff on another.
Works well.
