Persona 5 |OT2| Someone must have been helping you go to bed early. Talk!

I like how flattery almost never works. It only works on the Tower confidant, and that's because he's a kid.
Him and Mishima. Those two are the only ones where flattery gets you positive response all the time. For others, nope...you actually have to listen to what they are saying and figure out what they might like/not like. And even then someone like Tae is very hard to read.

Just finished the 6th palace 11/24 spoilers :
How much time left do I have for social links ? Do I have any ? Also how did the MC get a clone in the Metaverse ?

Edit :
You can spoil me on how many days I have left

You have about one month to max out all the SLs you can, but Moon, Chariot, Temperance and Sun will be unavailable for story reasons.

Regarding your question about the story... it will be explained later but if you really want to know:
he is the you inside Sae's cognition.

You have like 27 days left (some days are obviously out of your control, but once the next dungeon phase starts you will have control yet again. Still you have plenty of time to rank shit up.

As for how did Joker get a clone, it's because it was Sae's palace. Sae believed Joker to be in that room and so he was in that room because that's what her cognition imagined. Akechi entered the metaverse when Sae showed him the phone. And Sae left her palace quickly afterwards which is why the effects of palace owner being in her own palace wasn't observed.

Ok I have another question now
I calculated, I have roughly 18 days social link upgrades to upgrade before the deadline, do you think I can managed to upgrade everything ?

Ok it's dead
I haven't upgraded my slink with ryuji

ho hey, so to speak about what we were talking yesterday, like you said, the end of the game really solve every problem i had with the story, so that's great! I Still think it takes way too long to get interesting in comparison to other persona, but it's sure an amazing game and an amazing story!

It will be hard to wait for another persona, so can't wait for the next SMT!

Is 140 hours normal for completion? It would have been longer if I played the game on normal difficulty lol.

sure i guess! I completed it in 124 hours and i maxed everything and completed all quests, spent a long time in the velvet room too! Started in hard and switched to merciless after 4th dungeon, it was too easy for my taste

So I'm at 9/28 with a handful of maxed Confidants. How should I proceed from here? I want to max as much as possible but I don't know if there's time.

What should I keep in mind post-sixth dungeon (I'm on NG+).

I finally get where all the 'Morgana telling you to go to bed' jokes are coming from. I'm about to put down this annoying cat, jesus.

with the help of fortune arcana rank 7, you should have plenty of time to complete everything, even reading every books and playing every game! It's way more easy to do it than in previous persona games

Okay I\ll start hitting the fortune teller every time I go meet a confidant.

I'll give it a go. Used everyone extensively outside Ann.

What about Goro though? Joins too late to be useful?

So i'm thinking Haru (when i'll get her) and Makoto as default, then switching between Yusuke and Ryuji, the first for Phys dmg in random battles and the latter for bosses? With Ann on the bench and Mona as outside heal spam. Sounds balanced enough?

It's possible..But your confidants disappear at times and are nowhere to be found until the next day. You still have a decent margin left so you just might be able to do it.

Was this regarding the story? I'm glad you thought so and yes I feel the same way about the wait. I never played Persona 3 and Persona 4 and I am trying to play Persona 4 but I can't get past the game's presentation. It's too "kiddie" in the sense the characters don't look like high schoolers, they all look like dwarfs while they look proper in the portraits and anime cutscenes. The village setting doesn't grab me and I don't really like the Jpop inspired ost. Persona 5 hit the right spots for me in presentation, it's just so good and slick. And I like that the character models look resemble their portraits and design in anime cutscene.

The only thing Goro has is his AoE almighty damage, apart from that Ryuji and Yusuke have him beat in damage...unless you aren't leveled up enough at that point in which case he is useful when he joins.

I just saw a stream where the dude had everyone in normal clothes except the women, who were ofcourse in bikini. Immediately turned that stream off...uuugh.

Where exactly did this happen to you?
I have had this happen twice over 118 hours, but both times what took like 1-1.5 hours the first time around took me like 15-20 mins the 2nd time around. After the 2nd time, I learned my lesson and didn't mind backtracking to save.

It was in the 4th palace. I was going to ambush a shadow from a ledge, but it moved out of the the moment before I pushed the button causing them to surround me. The enemy "snake lady" put despair on my whole party and then proceeded to take out the MC before I could recover.

It's only happened to me twice where I lost that much time, but I was having a great run and found/defeated a rare treasure shadow. All that progress lost due to a miss timing of a button press.

They should allow the player to buy back into the place where they left off or don't have MC killed end of game.

I'm loving the game, but there are staples of the Persona games I still feel can be improved upon and this is the biggest one.

I did every persona games, you should definitely do 2, the best for me, followed closely by 3 (p3p with girl character is even better)! But you should know that it's very dark, it doesn't appeal to everybody apparently !! Also 4 does a better job at keeping the story interesting during the whole game (at least to me), but yeah it's the most light hearted of the persona serie!

The proportion never bothered me, as long as it's well written and that the story is good, i could play with a small potato and i wouldn't care

"you try to kill Morgana"

Let's not do that today.

Also, how much does a NG+ run for platinum trophy takes? I guess being high level and with most skills maxed out its much faster?

Shame, i saw a screen of his outfit and Persona and they are so cool...

People forget that Morgana was total ass to Ryuji at the beginning. You reap what you sow bro.

At the beginning?
He starts being an asshole to him the very same day they meet and keeps doing it for 6 months. No wonder he starts to act the way he does towards him after a while.

People say Morgana is a "pet character done right" but I don't really like him. Maybe it's because I actually like Ryuji, as opposed to most people here.

I just wish the game had allowed me to tell Morgana to shut up every once in a while. The rest of the cat sometimes ask as if it was Ryuji's fault.

Why does my high confuse spell keep missing on this memento boss ?
Is it just immune to it or my Persona's magic value too low?
It used to work so well with earlier bosses

okay this game got hard, I had to use a shit ton of items to get past that. When I'm worrying about sp during a boss I'm scared.

If he suggested Isis in regards to the 4th Palace then yeah, she's a beast for that place.

I really hate being timed like this. :(
I think I have FOMO in video games or something and hate these hard deadlines.

Being that I'm not through the first dungeon yet I'm hoping this changes.

Games with these tight constraints make me manage several save files and it sucks the fun right out of the RPG.

Is there a list of optimal/endgame skills for each party member? Could only find one for

Well I'd like to play Persona 3 but the RNG dungeon there is even worse than Persona 4. Persona 4 is like a precursor to 5 where dungeons are randomly generated but are boss specific while Persona 3 is the same shit from start to end with 100+ floors or so. P3P lacks the presentation as it's all menu based so I'd rather play FES. I know P3 is dark as I played it for like 2-3 hours but it too has the same problem of characters models looking like kids but it's not that big of an issue as overall it's still pretty dark. Still I am more inclined on playing P2 because I can digest old visuals better in isometric games. But isn't the western release of Persona 2 kind of incomplete ?

But the biggest issue I have is, where do I play it? I don't particularly like playing long games on Vita but even so FES isn't available there. Perhaps I'll see if I can find a physical PS2 copy and try to run it on emulator. I wish PS4 had PS2 emulation at the very least.

Question, how does the game design how you tackle confidant leveling in an "ideal" sense? One of the first you can get is the doctor, by the time I ranked her to max and got through her momentos quest it was a total joke where I killed the boss with two regular physical attacks. They obviously don't scale even based on the location. So I get the impression that the ideal thing to do was to do her as fast as possible and at least prioritize her over new side confidants.

tbh, I think people just need to learn to embrace the fact that they're almost certainly going to miss on some things and just focus on hanging out with the people and doing the activities that you enjoy the most or find most useful. These games are not designed with one-run completionists in mind.

Boss has a trick.
If you have the Hunger debuff the Megidolaon Burger heals you instead of dealing damage. You shouldn't have any ally that can heal debuffs automatically though.

That would be ok if it was just the relationships were missable. I definitely don't like how the time limitation impacts dungeons. I'm hoping eventually there is a way to revisit and grind or play on my time without sacrificing my save file.

man just play P3P, the menu-only make it way more pleasant and fast (at least to me, i was glad i could transport to every social link i wanted in P5)! Also if you don't like the RNG, just play it on very easy for the story, you will finish it really quickly, it's worth it (but you'll miss the challenge of the final boss, it was great)

but yeah if you absolutely want FES, buy a ps2 or do it on emulator, there's no other way right now

One thing this game highlights and why I hope they don't do generic shadows as enemies anymore is how damn hilarious the demons can be. I loved them in nocturne as well as this.

Yusuke's just the best. My only gripe is that that scene wasn't voiced. Too much of this game isn't voiced.
